    Virtually all posted renditions of this song by all groups say it is traditional Xhosa and sung in isiXhosa. But occasionally some say Zulu. Can you resolve?

    • @mailmoi1918
      @mailmoi1918 Рік тому

      It is composed by Mr L Jali (he's Zulu). He uses both Zulu and Xhosa words for example "Yehova" is xhosa for Jehova, however Baba is Zulu for Father (The Xhosa equivalent would be Tata).

Edit: There’s such serenity in submitting to the divine for a few minutes and feeling every cell in your body buzz with aliveness. This song will always be a gateway for me.

    Such harmonies would work nicely on an organ, especially tuned in some pre-Bachian non-equal temperament (a fact: Handel discouraged equal temperament and never created something like Bach's WTC or Chromatic fantasy - could be because he wrote so much for voice: operas, oratories, anthems etc?).

    We shall walk through the valley of the shadow of death, We shall walk through the valley in peace. And if Jesus himself shall be our leader, We shall walk through the valley in peace.
