Awesome video, well done. It was perfect for helping me change my fan. Only difference was the old fan had no screw/bolt holding it in, but a clip that was not easy to dislodge. The new fan I just used a bolt to secure and now alls good. Saved me almost £200. Thanks again

Hi Roger does this have a panel bottom left near the vent at front that needs to come off to clean anything. I took the panel off but cant get anything to move. I wonder if this doesn't need to come off the front panel. Problem is machine keeps stopping trying to clean the filters etc. Done the lint filter but must be something else

I couldn't push the button, but I hit it with the back side of a screwdriver semi-hard. I wiped everything dry in there, plus blasting it with a hair dryer for a bit to dry as good as possible. Put it back together and its working. Thanks!

Great video, just swapped my fan out for a new one, however no air coming into the car. Any ideas? RHD car and same fan blade direction as you have.

Thank you so much for this video ! My motor packed up today. Managed to get it out and give it a good clean. LOTS of carbon dust came out. Working fine again now, but if it does pack up for good, i now know how to replace it ! Many thanks indeed. Wonderful video 👏

BMW should have put a drain hole in the battery compartment. If you have a leaky ragtop, the battery compartment literally becomes a small bathtub 😅

Thanks for the video. I was wondering which oil you use for this chainsaw? I have one but not sure if the oil is too thick as it doesn’t seem to be lubricating the chain any advice would be appreciated 👍

Great video/ I bought one of these saws at Homebase for 50 pound , clearance sale at Gateshead not to long ago/ was amazed with the cutting performance,I checked for the chain prices and the cheapest was around 23/24 pounds.was wondering did the power sharp leaver sharpen that chain due to the right one is the PS56E when I checked it out.noticed all the sawdust mine gets really clagged up

Thank you so much! Just fixed my fan by tapping all the black stuff out on the wall, no need to take off the panels just the glove box. I was trying to take the fan out for ages, watched your video again and then realised it just turns and you have to lift the little clip before it will slide. Many thanks

    • @rogerthelwell

If the fan is spinning, but you can’t feel the air, maybe it is spinning the wrong way.

Thanks for the video, successfully changed the fan on my 14-plate Zafira Tourer. I found that you didn't need to remove any of the panels you show on the video. I just had to pull back the soft lining which covers the fan motor in the footwell, and one 7mm head bolt which holds the air ducting in place. Once the bolt was removed the air duct drops allowing you to get the old fan out and the new fan in. The only ticky bit was turning the old fan motor while lifting the tag, which you indicate in the video, so that it passes over the catch. The power connector can be a bit fiddley but is easier to get at once the fan is out, just remember to plug the connector from the new one in before fitting the fan. All in all 10 minutes work lying on your back in the front footwell, just put something soft over the door cill to make it a little more comfortable. Thank you again.

I was about to ask if it was necessary to remove the glove box. Initial thoughts after having a good look are it isn't. You've answered my question 🙂Wish me luck, the part doesn't arrive until Monday.

Great video, my wifes blowers no longer work. When you tried to use the fan when it was broken, did it show on the panel like normal. Just trying to diagnosis why before I buy a new part. You turn them on on my wifes car and the panel shows the usual things, but can hear anything and no air blowing out. Cheers

    • @dazfitzg

Hi TPTeeps, I had the exact same problem, the car thought everything was ok, all the displays showed that the fan was on, but no matter what setting was selected there was no response from the fan. Bought a 2nd hand fan off eBay, it was off an Astra 'J' but it's the exact same part. Just be careful that you get the correct fan for your car there is a difference between Right Hand Drive (UK) and Left Hand Drive (EU) versions. New RHD ones appear to be more expensive than the LHD. My replacement (for an RHD) was labelled as part number 25020140 on eBay, this is the number on the bottom of the motor housing, there is an additional number on the exhaust/inlet tube of 25020139 if you are unsure. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I don’t like having to spend unnecessarily so I love to keep everything. Off cuts, bits of metal, inner tubes from bikes, because one day you never know if you’ll need them and can then adapt it to a new purpose.
