Room interaction was very carefully considered here for the showroom @ Rhapsody Out West, the acoustics optimized by Bonnie Schnitta Ph.D. Of SoundSense LLC in New York. I’ll post another video in the future what all was done.

Maybe so, the Alsyvox panels are not lacking in dynamic prowess but compared to a cone driver like in a Wilson speaker, for example, you could say the visceral impact is different. But if you listen in person vs by way of my iPhone recording, I expect you’ll have a different take. That said, having owned Wilson Alexia, I understand there is a difference. How much it matters is all about personal taste.

2w / channel is plenty - the cool thing about the TriodeLab 45 integrated amp is you can use 2A3 tubes if you want to double the power to 4w. The amp has auto-bias so it can use the 2A3, (though the Hashimoto transformers are optimized for the 45 tubes.) Really a sweet little integrated amp. Getting the right compliment of tubes takes a little time, and finding a high efficiency speaker you like but you’ll be rewarded with some sonic bliss for sure.

Different speakers, different amp, different speaker cables and interconnects. Fun to pair a $10k amp with speakers costing 10x that amount and you won’t find the amp holds the speakers back in any way. Fun times, great sounds!

Digital recording didn’t really come ‘round till the 80s. This version cut in 1980, MCA Audiophile label 1/2 speed remaster. Original LP dropped in November of that year. Equally good, I think, to the latest UHQR release (also all analog)

With all respect, you really must hear Alsyvox in person and you will realize your comment makes sense only with respect to “typical” panel design but not Alsyvox. They play to the low 20hz range with tremendous bass authority. Perhaps minus the last bit of impact of a cone, but no-one who hears Alsyvox complains a lack of low end extension. Read the review in the current “the absolute sound” magazine (Alsyvox on the cover), and find one of the Rhapsody.Audio locations (six in the USA) and have a listen. Any preconceived notions that panels can’t do bass will be vanquished!.

whichever path you choose - it is you doing the listening. a warm welcoming quiet and peaceful environment works for me. Big $$ systems are not essential for musical enjoyment but can enhance the sense of realism. some people like Ferraris, some are happy with a Camry, the only problem is when someone else starts judging

yeah, Caravaggio would be a nice upgrade for sure, but Botticelli X doesn’t suck!

a nice Cabernet or Pinot Noir works too!

no, this is the 1/2 speed mastered MCA “Audiophile” pressing. I have the new UHQR and it isn’t significantly better, before the new pressing the 1/2 speed mastered was the ultimate copy. I’m happy I have both now. If you have a pivoted arm the 45 will probably have more benefit my arm is linear tracking so no inner groove distortion anyway. I was lucky to find a sealed MCA copy about 10 years ago.

I have all the new UHQR Steely Dan. The Gaucho is not significantly better than the 33rpm 1/2 speed mastered MCA Audiophile pressing - maybe a wee bit here and there. One of the benefits of a 45 is less inner groove distortion but I have linear tracking air-bearing Vision tonearm on the VYGER turntable so isn’t a factor. I’m glad to have a new very great pressing in the 45.

custom made, simple design with dovetail joinery for strength. any woodworker can make some up, a couple of friends have copied them.
