Would you be able to address how you bill and what codes you use? A therapist recommended that I bill for 45 min sessions even if I see the client for 53 or longer because companies are less likely to audit your notes? Have you ever heard of this?

Hey, so I am uncertain why I was served up this video, and it is good content for the most part when it is focused on the content. That said, I do not understand the water slide/going for a run subplot sprinkled throughout the video. I don't care to go back and count the number of times you interrupted your main narrative for it, but here are those I can recollect: • discuss the slide and why you are stretching for no reason having to do with the video • discuss the docs rec. and potential for going for a run • not going to film and talk because its dangerous, yet still include a wobbly and unnecessary bicycling montage as we watch to see if the camera falls off, the I dunno, the Triborough? I think I played rugby on that pitch and I live in Philly • change of venue from path to grass • edge the run again, get distracted by inability to eat on camera which c'mon non-consensual muk bang • actually run on the grass (yay?) • run on the pavement, and induce anxiety/hope in viewer for schadenfreude that camera does get stolen... (congrats, maybe you might be feeling better... what was the payoff on this side narrative for viewers?) And then while you are out of your apartment there are infrastructure pauses that we can only hear 50% of the time. (If you want uninterrupted audio, prefer a controlled indoor location such as an apartment over locations directly under rail infrastructure or with a low likelihood of passerbys entering the shot or stealing your equipment - preferably zero or negligible.) There is editing software when these interruptions are unavoidable. Calling attention to them and having viewers wait so often without payoff is frustrating when it feels like the length is ⅓ subplot, ⅙ infrastructure week, ½ really genuine relatable content from someone likeable. Maybe, maybe bigger UA-camrs can get away with this now and then shooting on location or as comic relief a la Bo Burnham Inside... and it's risky nonetheless. Okay, as for the content, again it's interesting and worth telling, especially given how desperately the US needs social workers. I will sign up to see more and hopefully this won't be a vlog of someone who seems very nice, genuine, and well-intended hitting a wall and burning out over time due to low pay, little institutional support, and a gradual recognition of the Sisyphean nature of individual-level interventions in the face of systemic inaction and legislative gridlock. Please get a strong social support network in place for yourself and link up with or create a professional society with a lobbying arm now while you are (hopefully still are) optimistic. And finally, I would encourage you to show this video and this comment to your mother. I realize I am being rather direct and pretty harsh, that said if you take nothing else I have said here to heart, please hear this last item. Please listen to your mother. It seems she knows you very well, is attuned to your values and desires, and is well-informed and looking out for your best interests. While some experiential learning skinned knees are a fact of life, it would have benefitted you greatly to not have fought so hard against folks agreeing with her recommendation for seemingly little reason but the fact that their recommendations aligned with hers. Good luck in your endeavors, this is a hopeful and well-wishing comment albeit with a strong critical lens. Do with it what you will (and with any luck, what your mom believe that you should).

Your story is very similar to mine. I wanted to become a psychologist; got my BA in Psychology. Then found out that if I wanted to do therapy I will need my PHD. Looked in to clinical SW. During my second year of internship, I've met a few PHD students who were also doing their internship, and one of them used to tell me all the time she wished she knew about an MSW program. Here I am in the process of opening my private practice and licensed in two states. Congrats on your journey!

I tried Zocdoc maybe 1.5 years ago and my main issue was I was getting referrals but they were all referrals that did not match the criteria I put on my profile so most of them were not clients I could book beyond that initial consultation. Maybe this is better now than it was over a year ago.

Hey, my question is I am a solo practitioner in the state of Tennessee looking to add one extra person and do a group. I did reach out to a lawyer and I’ve set some of it up but is there a particular person that I’m looking for that, I would need to hire to be able to bill with Insurance? And how would I find this out in the state of Tennessee? It looks like we have several groups out here. They have people that have masters degrees without the clinical hours and are billing insurance with the group name…
