A bee on a Rudbeckia flower grown from seeds.
The nice thing of flowers in a garden is that they attract birds, bees and other wild life. In this video you can see a bird enjoying the nectar from the Rudbeckia flowers in my garden. These Rudbeckia flowers I have grown from seeds I collected last year.
Another names for the Rudbeckia is 'Coneflowers' and 'Black-eyed-susans.

This was so helpful. Thank you!
I am glad it was helpful. To help this channel please subscribe to the channel.
Thank you Sir ,it adds more knowledge to care no roots Phalaenopsis orchids .exactly what i am looking for an answer
This is fascinating..💚 If only I'd seen this a few months ago, I'd still have my favorite phal!
I literally just replanted one of these in a larger container. Absolutely beautiful!!
They are really beautiful. I put mine in the garden and just a few days ago I saw new leaves coming up.
Hi, can I use the infrared body thermometer to check the right temperature of soil after microwaving?
Please help❗️I got such a plant❗️ What kind of water should I pour on it❓️
Distilled/rain/RO water
Gorgeous, I want the same setup
Thanks sir
hwo do u find the anther cap and how do you know which one can be crosspollinated
The anther cap is very good visible when you take out the polliniums. As long as a plant is from the same family you can crosspollinate. So when you take a phaleanopsis you can cross polinate with all phaleanopsis orchids.
I’m on southeast US coast when is best time to pot my keiki?
During spring would be a wonderful time
I've got two baby orchids and one has no roots at all. The leaves and shriveled and wrinkly. Im going to try this! I feel hopeful!
Thank you for a very helpful video. I've been unwell for 2 years, so my Keiki is quite big. Is this the right time of the year to remove it ? I'm in the UK. Thank you
I am happy the video is helpful. If you live in the UK I think you'd better wait till April.
@@botanicdesigns oh thank you. I will do.
Wonderful video thank you. I’ve learned a lot. However, I think I would’ve put it in a larger pot than that. Thank you so much I will follow you.
No, it doesn't. If you meam the "whitish" spots on the branch these are tiny water drops from the high humidity.
Theres a web going from one lob to the next on the first leaf you are showing. Could be spider mites, could be a spider.
I think it was a spider
It has spider mites
That is a beauty!!😮
Yes, it is. Thanks
My dragon scale is currently in pon. I just noticed some corms pop out the surface. Is it possible to propagate them in pon or does it have to be sphagnum moss? Thank you for the video by the way!
It should be very good possible to grow them in pon.
מקסים👏
That's amazing!! My orchid died but now I think after using your technique it's starting to live again
I am happy to hear it is still alive.
My Caladium and Silver dragon have bloomed during the winter. I left them in the window where they got good sun and could not believe it.
There’s no chance of the roots rotting ?
No. Of course you shouldn't place too much water
I have a Keiki Ill be removing in a few months , once I do what would you suggest as far as watering ? @@botanicdesigns
As far as watering do as with an adult plant, once a week.
@@botanicdesigns thanks
I just noticed a bloom stalk on my favorite Orchid . This is odd because she already has 2 stalks , have you ever seen this ?
They are so beautiful😳❤️
Yes, dried flowers and leaves are beautiful.
Your orchid will die from stem and crown rot. Please do not follow this nonsense.
So what is that growing out ? Will that be anew leaf
Yes, that is a new leaf.
@@botanicdesigns oh how exciting my queen is pushing out one too! I wasn’t sure if it was a leaf or not
How do you let the soil cool down and for how long? Because it's moist, can it develop mold if not used? Thanks
I let the soil cool down naturally. It takes, depending on the amount, something like an hour to two hours to cool down. Because you sterilzed the soil it won't develop mold if not used.
@@botanicdesigns thank you Do you keep it sealed while cooking off? If open, do you worry that a gnat will get in?
I keep the bag open in one corner because otherwise it might explode, because steam has a bigger volume than water. And no I am not afraid a gnat will get in. Even if one will get in it will die because of the heat.
@@botanicdesigns ok thank you so much. Very helpful info.
Doesn’t microwaved water (in soil) kill plants?
No, nothing happens to microwaved water. Even after microwaving water it still stays the same water. BTW a microwave works only on wet products because the microwaves make the water molecules vibrated faster which makes the water become warm. All this without changing the water molecules. Of course you must let the soil cool down before using.
Thank you very much for such a detailed video! I have two giant keikis on my orchid. They are very big and have many roots and leaves. I want to separate them from the mother plant, but they are blooming with many many flowers. Shall I wait until they stop blooming or shall I try separating them now? Many thanks!
If they are blooming I would wait.
@@botanicdesigns many thanks for the prompt reply! Will wait then.
I have watched so many people cutting off the flower spikes. I knew there was a reason not to. I put Keiki past on and have growth in several places on it. When I get keikies I will be coming back to this video.
There are people that love to cut off the flower spikes and claim it is the best thing to do. I don't like cutting them off totally in order to let them either develop keikis or new flower spikes. Let me know if you had success developing keikis.
@@botanicdesigns I have lots of patience and will keep my fingers crossed.
Many people criticize me for leaving my spikes when I post on social media. They claim keikis and secondary bloom or spike will drain the plant and leaves will be in a poor state, etc.
🥰🥰🥰
❤❤❤
Ok, 6 weeks still no roots. But there is a new tiny leaf! Problem is one of the two leafs is getting yellow. what should I do with it, please.
Give it time. It took mine almost 2 full months to see the first little root developing.
Thank you!
I had the same thing with my alocasia, thinking it was a new leaf but no, it’s my first flower
you cat this part but you did not show us what you do with the part that left are you going to put cinamon or 3% advice plaese
No cinamon, no waterperoxide. Just leave it.
Do you open it to water at all?
I check it from time to time, but the nice thing is you hardly to not have to water them, while the box is closed.
Orchid isn’t easy to take care. Thanks for the great video 😃
Indeed you need to have patience and watch them all the time. But they are so beautiful that its worth every effort. I am happy you enjoyed the video.
@@botanicdesigns yes indeed. Thanks again 😃
jesus that intro music scared me- had the volume turned all the way up to hear you at the beginning jesus again, the outro music. wow. Very thankful for this video though! Very clear and straightforward. (My 2 cents, take it or leave it- the intro and outro are unnecessary and bring a 10/10 video down to a 5/10. Less is more. Usually I'd exit and find another video but I could tell that the actual content was going to be good. Only offering because I appreciate you and think this would help your channel grow)
First of all, I am happy the video was helpfull. I hope you will succeed propagating your roses. In my newer videos I made changes in connection to the intro music, first I tell what the video is about, than a really short intro of a few seconds and than I start the main content of the video. I hope this is better than this earlier made video.
Not in Iowa. We still have snow.❄️🌬☃️
Be patient. Spring will come to you also very soon. ❤
How much time did it take until the first root apared?
About two weeks
Do i have to put a second cup over the plant?
@@farkaserika7988 yes, this creates a tiny greenhouse that increases the humidity
@@botanicdesignshow do avoid mold? I’ve had this issue with Sphagnum moss in a sealed bag and cups
Naturally or by you?
I hand pollinated the flowers. And as a natural process the flowers will wilt and produce a seed pod. You can see how I hand pollinated the flowers in this short: ua-cam.com/users/shortsTZTpYX7Fl4I?feature=share

I have a Keiki growing off of my flowering stem but there is no air roots developing yet so should I wait to clip the keiki until it grows air roots ?
You must wait till it has at least 3 roots. This can take a few months. Orchids is all about patience.

Love it. ❤️
Is keiki always developed after flowering? I am novice, Thanks
Unfortunately not. Most orchid growers go on luck and pray that their orchid will develop a keiki. In the past, I have tried several ways in which people in youtube videos claimed they know the way you can push the flower spike to develop keikis, but I have never had any succes. A few weeks ago, I have seen a new video with a new way and I will certainly try this. I will film it and upload it on the channel. Of course it will take time.
