This is a great machine. Easiest way to anneal brass that I have ever seen. A quick question though, annealing nickel brass, yea or nea? I just picked up 100 pieces of Federal premium 7mm mag and want to anneal it before I resize it to 30 cal. The thing is I haven’t seen any mention of nickel brass anywhere.
Im using it since a year now and annealed thousands of cases. This is a masterpiece ! Absolutly repeatable, made of high quality materials and done with passion.
were go all the brass chips go ? everywhere !
Are the holes in comparators precision drilled so that every set you sell has exactly the same hole size?
half thou tolerance. almost same.
Thanks for the demo, I have seen the product on Used Guns, and I thought I should explore the workings of the device by watching a UA-cam video. I am impressed and looks a heap easier than my little Hornady bench trimmer. I was not aware until now that you also produce the annealer. I have been trying to convince myself to buy one. I am fairly certain I am now convinced, Cheers
Volume is too low
if i put this in a drill press whats the ideal speed?
I have owned one for about 2 years now. I own a rifle range and end up with 1000's of rounds of brass. Most of it I pass on to a brass dealer but a few I keep, deprime, steel pin clean. anneal and FL resize and sell. This machine has paid for itself. It does not have a round counter but we usually just weigh it anyway. The only error I've made a few times is letting the gas bottle go empty. I'm only 5 ft away working on something else when I glance over and see the problem. That's all on me, not the machine.
No doubt this is a quality product but the introduction is kinda false marketing. The hornady comparator you torque down with a screw which eliminates the wobble.. And for me has been very consistent and reliable. Ive found that for a creedmoor the 400 works better than the 375.
I have this set. It’s great. Saved me a lot of monet b/c I use every caliber in the kit. I always held off on other comparators because they were so inaccurate. This set is very repeatable. Excellent product. Great value.
How do you know they were inaccurate if you never used them?
Once it's cut the case to the set length will it stop cutting on its own? For example you accidentally bump the case back in to the trimmer and it then trims more
Patent pending? There's videos going back 5 yrs before this one of the same design by other people.
Also, I had great customer service, from the USA dealer and Fei Cheng.
I bought one after reviewing several videos of this annealer and its competitors. I do not regret it. Easy to set up, easy to use. I bought Tempilaq to show the correct temp. Just note, buy a torch that fits your region. I got a Benzomatic torch head, its fitted for Anerican threaded gas containers. Hard to get for me as I currently live in Germany, but I found a US to EU adapter on Amazon. Works great.
Hi I am interested in your primer Micrometre seating die having no luck have emailed you before Christmas with no reply. Can you please do a response on this site
Hi We still have a few units available. You can buy from our Derraco site directly.
Hello, do you ship to UK, also there is no drop down box for collet calibre selection ?
yes we can ship to uk. You can put the collet choice on note when you put the offer. There is an option there. The actual postage to uk will be around 15AUD and any ovetpaid gap postage will be refunded.
Wow, that is an excellent looking comparator set. I love your ugly annealer and used it for a long time.
It really needs an anvil base to lock onto the other jaw. It will make the tool even simpler to use and better repeatable accuracy. Are the bullet comparators sized EXACTLY to the bullet diameter for each caliber? Are they sized to the exact ogive diameter so the measurement can be the same regardless of bullet brand or model of bullet per caliber? For example .243 bullets will have the same ogive measurement regardless of brand or model of bullet used. If the bullet comparator isn't sized to match the ogive of that caliber then the base to ogive measurements will be very different when a shooter is loading the same ammo for his gun but with different bullet weights, or models of bullets.
Hi @Derraco I'm about to pull the trigger on an order for this set but could you please reply to Rico11b's comment? It would be great if you could show the diameter as well as demonstrating the repeatability of measurements?
The 9 Annealers and 4 trimmers found their way to me in the UK, and i have some very very happy customers. Will be putting in another order befoee the emd of the month, and will be including some of these sets as well. Very excited to get my hands on these.
Just got mine and all good except for the bearing not being seated squarely making for a wobbly cut. Will try seating the bearing properly tomorrow and hope that takes care of that. Very nice piece though - will be great putting it to work.
I noticed the same issue. How did you make out?
5.7x28
Hi Fei - how do we set up the chamfer insert?
Gday. just insert until the chamfer blade touch the brass inside diameter. Lock and use feeler gauge or paper to adjust like in the video.
I love my ep 2.0 annealer. Kiss method for sure
How much are they
Just bought one - it comes Monday. Nice to see a vid by the inventor/manufacturer - thanks.
Hi Roger, This is a great system I would like to buy it a 3 sets of UGLY SRT Combo deal! for my 308 Winchester brass. Do you also deliver to France? If so what would it cost. With kind regards Arno

Can this do 458 Socom?
Just had a look at the photo of this caliber. Should do.
@@feicheng6606 Thanks for the reply👍
I bought one for myself as a birthday gift. Australia Post took the scenic route to deliver it, 8 days to travel 120km. Great unit. I have run through a couple of hundred in toying around with it, all 223. A+ for customer service from Fei Cheng when I asked questions. GET ONE, you won't be disappointed.
Bought this item in the States from a distributor. Can't find any e-mail contact for Derraco (the company that designed the unit) on their website. Have a few questions about the version I got: 1) My unit does not have a green power button. It has a silver button that is flush with the case when OFF, and recessed by 1/4" or so when ON. Is this a knockoff? 2) The plexiglass shield to keep cases in the hopper (hopper holds 185 .30-06 cases if you are interested) was drilled for the securing post...but it does not snug to the washer closest to the unit. Am I supposed to relieve the hole in the plexiglass to fit the post? 3) My shield securing post hardware came with three washers but instructions say to use two...do I just hang on to the third one? 4) I received a parts box with screws, e-clips etc. No indication where these go or what they are. I assume they are just spares. 5) The entire case of the unit is ventilated. Is all that venting necessary? Only asking because I would like to put a pouch on the back to hold the instruction manual and wrench set and spare parts kit so as to keep every thing together. Said pouch would block the vents. 6) The gas bottle stand is troublesome. I can't get it close enough to the unit for proper alignment of the bottle. The stand 'legs' hit the unit baseplate so that the flame is aimed towards the unit wheel. Been doing without the tank stand and simply resting the bottle on my work bench. For those using ANY annealer, remember to sort your brass by head stamp. Some brass may be thicker than others, or use a different combination of metals to create the brass. This will affect how your brass reacts to the heat. Setting your speed and flame strength for military brass may over anneal the thinner commercial brass. Poorly made brass may show hot spots of over annealing within an otherwise perfectly annealed case. Also make sure you check your brass for live primers. I fill my left hand with a sheaf of brass, then turn to look at the primers, then place them in the hopper when I am sure there are no live ones. This is important if you pick up range brass or if you have a case from which you pulled the bullet and dumped the powder and simply tossed into your 'spent' brass bucket.
Hi. I have replied your email. thank you for your advise.
I'm a bit confused, I see your annealer on your home page, on amazon, and on ugly reloading usa...all for different prices.
Hey - It depends on who is selling it. You can buy direct from OZ, or from a reseller in the US. Obviously prices are different due to currencies, shipping, etc.
I bought a few days ago. Can't wait for delivery :)
Bought one yesterday. Very much looking forward to getting it. Thanks & assembled in oz , bloody love it .
I didn't see an insert for 8.6 blk. If you don't have it, could you get those going?
you can get number 0 collet and ream one. Your local gunsmith can do it easily in couple of minutes
@@feicheng6606 If they have a reamer. 8.6 blk should be on your list to consider because a lot of people are still necking down 6.5 cases to make brass, and your trimmer has a micro adjust where others don't.
Ordered mine from Carl with the extra 6 collets for all my brass, However, did not have a 338WM one. Let me know once you do!
I've just ordered this. Can't wait to test it out. Looks like a solid unit that will last with no plastic parts. Well done. Will let you know how it performs. My ugly annealer works very well
Does it chamfer and deburr as well?
No
I still can't get 223 to run good without putting too much heat on that rod. The rod that holds the brass. Hope this is OK. Because I can't do anything about it. 223 is short.
You can adjust the rod by loosening the screw from left side hole. You can use thinner rotation wheel if you like. 223 is well tested by us. fiddle a bit more and you will be able to run it smooth.
Got mine a month ago, worked perfect out of the box!
That looks about 1000 percent faster than my RCBS case trimmer, and less effort.
Can we the ugly annealer handle 6br cases?
I made this one around 8 years ago - yours looks very similar. ua-cam.com/video/Jv75-9p9yFA/v-deo.html
will it do 300Blackout?
yes it will do 300BO
@@feicheng6606 With what spacer please? Very interested
@@Dayattherange catching wheel use 223 insert, lower rotation wheel use 15mm diamond wheel
Just got one of these and put it together this morning - pretty easy - 2 screws on the bottom plate wouldn’t go in due to threads not properly put in so I’ll use it without those 2 as the bottom plate is solid - the on/off switch could be larger - guys tend to have bigger fat fingers - I love how solid and rugged it is - the solid billet wheels, one with rough surface, the inserts, the adjustments, the front plastic plate, the handle on top - all nice finishes and all solid as a rock… the operation is nice and smooth and works like a rippa - now all i have to do is buy a bottle of gas and get annealing!! :D
sorry about the hassle. The problem would be solved if you clear the thread with a M4 tap. We have noticed this issue and told our assembly worker to re-inspect these holes again.
@@feicheng6606 I had the same problem - just ran a tap through but not everyone has these tools....
Sorry, got my question answered on another video.
Are these manufactured in Australia?
I've had my Ugly annealing machine for a few months and I'm really happy with it. It's a great design and works well with all calibres except for a minor issue with Martini Henry and Snider cases (without insert). I have to place them individually on the feeder. The mechanism jams if more than one case is in the hopper. It's not a big problem as I sit at the bench monitoring the process anyway.
please contact us on facebook by searching ugly annealer. Send us a short vide of the jaming, we will see if there will be any solutions for that.
@@feicheng6606 I uploaded the requested video to the FB group.
