The Journey Podcast S1:E1
I'm launching a new pod cast. It's not about where I parked or what road I took the RV on, but rather a Soul's journey. Join me as I talk about the Spiritual aspect of facing stage 4 cancer, the literal RV road to recovery and the people I met along the way. In a separate note, I invite you to explore a Spiritual conversation that I'm part of @TrueThoughtSC. You might particularly enjoy ua-cam.com/video/MMUyZJ976sA/v-deo.htmlsi=hvkBIH2wBy_oN1YL

Pushing that Grand Cherokee
It's so great to see you again!!!!!
Good to find you here my brother! You are dearly loved!
I came across your original Geo Pro series as I was contemplating getting a camper. became captivated by your travels and adventures. I have purchased a Geo 19FBS in April 2024. I don't travel far, as there is a very nice campground 5 minutes away from my house, (4miles), and wife had never camped before, so breaking her in on camping. Again, great to see you.
Good to see you again!!
Where in video is The Sway Hitch! I saw your neighbors the fiddle player WHY WASTE OUR TIME?
Luv it. Looking to get a 2024 FDS this week. Tx
My son just left Kauai from working and met a nice homeless guy who was African American, and he stated the guy flew down from another state and was just stuck there on drugs. My din won't bring him McDonald's on his days off. Its sad 😢 and its so many states experiencing this. My son stated the guy was intelligent and could do better if he wanted to but was on drugs pretty bad.
Sometimes, if you can titan it just a hair, it will break it louse .
Beware of Forest River/Rockwood/Flagstaff models. Mine had serious manufacturing defects which they admitted to, towed the camper back to the factory, then proceeded to return it to me severely damaged. They've agreed to fix the easy, cheap stuff but not the expensive, important stuff. If you think I'm just one disgruntled customer, take a look at the Better Business Bureau's Forest River page - 1 star out of 5. If I can help just one person not go through the months long agony and financial hardship I have, it will be enough. Thanks for reading.
Wow
What's it like in 2023? Is it a lot worse five years later?
Yes
I'm pretty sure I saw that same squirrel today
Off-roading? You were on a road 😂
On our way. Excited to check it out!!
I'm in love with the 2023 Geo Pro fbs, but torn between that or a 19' Airstream. Both will need aesthetic interior changes (paint or wrap on the GeoPro outside) and other little decorating and mods to fit my tastes...knowing I'm changing so much on the inside, its really hard to choose. I keep coming back to your videos, because maybe I'm trying to sell myself on this one. I hope I make my mind up soon, because I would like to be on the road by this Autumn and Winter. May I ask what the towing capacity is on your Grand Cherroke??
My grand Cherokee has the factory tow package with the eco v6. It is rated at 5500 pounds & the GeoPro fully loaded was a little over 3300.
@keetonstudios Thank you. I finally decided on a camper and picked it up last week. Went with the new 19fbs. My 4runner only has a 5k towing capacity and I already had the towing package, But added my gain, a heavy duty stabilizer(sway-bar) and she pulls great. I was worried I wasn't going to have enough "umph" to pull it with ease...but it's nice. Upgrading my rear end, then I'll be done with my car additions. Ready to go take a little trip to see how she does and what she needs. Thank you for the videos...they are very helpful with great information.
How’s your single axle tow experience?
We towed for almost 30,000 miles with it our first 2 years with zero wheel/tire/axle issues. It does have a full size spare if you were to get a flat… I think trailers over 5,000 pounds are required to have two axles but our 19FBS was under 3,000 pounds.
harsh words to describe sum o toughest Braddas n Sistas on island dont u think? now why don"t you go ahead n try one re-edit! Now notice how I said that peacefully? I check back don"t let me down. My re-eddits waste my time. E.$.B.
Great review of a very nice trailer. Just stumbled upon it, but will check out your channel. Only point is regarding the "rv/marine" toilet paper. Good friends with a tissue maker and when I asked him what is the difference between RV toilet paper and regular home toilet paper. He replied the price and the packaging.... We have over 350 nights in our trailers since mid 2016 and have always used whatever we have on hand, or whatever the super market happens to have where ever we are. Never had an issue. I just let the black tank fill up and dump it when it needs dumping and never have an issue. Mind you we are not stationary much, with well over 30,000 miles in those 350 nights, so the shaking keeps things flowing too.... safe travels...
Thank you. Easiest video I’ve watched
The veggies have to go on for a long time before putting on the fish.
Just curious if you still have your Geo, or something new enjoy your video clips
Renee still has it but we are no longer together. I still think the Geo pro is one of the best values for the money. I don’t currently have an RV since working full time again, but I have the amazing memories. I am probably going to buy another Geo pro next spring & rent it out when I’m not using it or just rent one myself and not buy:)
Where’ve you guys been?
My understanding is that the Shwintek slide can't be stopped midway, it must go all the way in and all the way out or the two motors can become unsynced. But your modification seems to require partial deployment. Have you had any issues with the slide room getting skewed? Meaning, when bringing it in all the way did a small gap ever form on one side when looking at it from the outside?
Maybe they made modifications after we bought our 2017 build. We can stop our slide at any point & have not had problems.
I had a Grand Cherokee diesel rated at 7,200lbs....we towed a 25ft 5,300lbs camper. It required weight distribution per the manual and even with sway control on the hitch it was a handful. The short wheel base was not great for stability.
A full size pickup or suburban with a distribution hitch would probably be the ideal set-up. It just depends on your budget. There’s some really good distribution hitches out there now:)
@Keeton Studios My current setup is a 2016 Silverado 2500HD High Country Duramax 4x4....2022 Grand Design Imagine 2600RB...and an Equalizer hitch with 4pt sway control.
My understanding of the operation of the Shwintec slide system is that it should always be run fully out and fully in, and never to stop it midway (because the two motors can get out of sync with each other). But this mod requires it be stopped partially. Has this ever caused an issue with the slide system?
Wow, I was always wondering what that meant on the app. Thank you for sharing 😊
Omg so insane that’s so crazy. Only people with true 4x4 off roading monster trucks can drive on a dirt road with a camper….
Came across your longer-term review for some of the reasons you ended up mentioning -- as the Rockwood line seems to nail the high-value mark. The fact that you had been full-timing and getting out there is a huge endorsement to the quality. Appreciate that you mentioned that alternative floorplan, as I was going to ask you in comments if you had thoughts. It appears finding a 2018-19 in good shape is the solution.
Good job
OK cool. Thanks
Good review, thank you. Have you tried or seen anyone try switching the griddle for a two burner camping stove? I tried it and it appears there wasn't enough gas pressure for the stove to work at a regular temperature. Maybe I did something wrong? That's why I'm asking.
Make sure the gas pressure is correct. It could be too high and you’re running too rich. Typical trailer propane gas pressure should be 11-14” water column. Bump that against your stove which may be less.
I wasn't a fan of griddles... this griddle changed my mind. I only wish it came with a storage cover. :/
Did you ever have any problems with your batteries or solar package? I was also wondering if your geo pro had a 7pin connection on the hitch and if so are you able to use that connection to charge your batteries using your truck? If for whatever reason you had to?
What’s the weight of this one and what are you pull it with?
Are you still alive Jason?
Jason, what happened to you, are you ok???
Even two years later, and it has helped an idiot like me with the winterization of my new Geo-Pro. 12/08/22 Thanks !!!
Thank you:)! I’m about to re-organize my entire channel & start a video pod cast highlighting the entire year long, off grid adventure:) Episode one is shot - hopefully I’ll have everything ready by the first of the year:)
Beat it Haole.
Hippies are freeloaders
really wanted to see this video but the camera has parkinsons.......
How has the trailer held up over all of these adventures? I am looking into getting one!!
Your title would be more accurate to say "Sway control - I don't need it for my very specific situation because my trailer is small and aerodynamic". The fact is that the average trailer over 20 foot is a giant sail, and the question is not if you will ever get sway, it is when we it happen. You are using a vehicle that is overkill for your comparatively small camper.
You guys disappeared from your channel. What's happening?
Much appreciated!!
Still trying to confirm exactly how you confirm the tongue weight?
This brand makes sense as a single burner since the burner is "H" shaped and can heat more area.
Idk if this is the ferry closest to Plattsburgh but that ferry runs every 15 mins 24 hours a day and is the fastest was across the lake to Burlington. I think this is the south one that takes longer
It is:) It was surprisingly very reasonable to save a long drive around the lake ($37 in 2018)
How often do you grease the wheel bearings?
Thanks for the great video! We have a 2020 unit and are very pleased with it. NOTE!!!!! Make sure to check the attachment bolts ( 8 each) that tie the camper body to the frame!!!! I checked ours during a routine check and found three nuts missing and two more nuts about to drop off! Just something to be aware of. Happy camping to all!
