Dartford Borough Council's Draft Net Zero Strategy Consultation
Dartford Borough Council is committed to creating a greener future, and has set its own target of reaching Net Zero - we achieve this when the amount of greenhouse gases produced is no more than the amount removed from the atmosphere. We have developed a draft strategy that explains how the Council intends to step up to meet the challenge, and turn the climate emergency declaration into a plan of action that will refocus the Council’s activity, operations and spheres of influence to reduce emissions, increase sustainability and benefit the wider environment. Today we have launched a public consultation for this strategy, and we want to hear from YOU! Amy Goodman's The Glimmer Twins was commissioned by Dartford Borough Council and paid for through a public art contribution by Bellway London. The work depicts The Rolling Stones' Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards mid-performance. Sir Mick and Keith grew up in the town and remain proud of their Dartford roots. On Sunday 7th May hundreds of people gathered in Central Park for a day of fun-filled family activities. We gave away 700 free tickets to local children who enjoyed a bandstand concert, goody bag, sweets, drinks, ice cream, workshops and entertainment.

Yep- in central park, it opens to a few people on the 11th of march, but the general opening is on the 13th.

Dartford has so much potential and the people here long for a town they can be proud of again. I hate having to go to Bluewater to be able to buy clothes, presents for people etc. Would much rather support local business in town and bring the heart of the community back. There is such a lot of history here and many creative and talented people who would help re-build it if they had the financial means to do so.
