Gold Standard. I watch this regular. Not watching the TotK one, bc obv that game throws out all established lore, so TotK & EoW aren't canon. But this, this is gold.

This confirmed why Iw as right about The Timeline be Faulty. No one cannot proved anything! It is clear that Nintendo is not a very good reliable source for confirmation nor any Zelda Theorizers. No one and I mean no one cannot actually 100% confirm was is canon because everyone relied on Faulty Evidences, and Information instead of actual In-Universe Confirmations. So Nintendo can't really confirm or prove anything, not just in Trice Heroes, but in other Zelda games as well, because they never care about a timeline at all.

Actually there is a Good Logical Reason between Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time. The difference between them is that in Ocarina of Time, Zelda sending Link back to his Childhood Time before their meeting was a In-Universe Key Event. Meanwhile, Link's traveling back to the First Day in Majora's Mask is a game mechanic and not a key event in the story, with the exception of when it is first used. So, every time Link travels back to the first day in Majora's Mask it is not a key story event, but rather a Game Mechanic and nothing more. Nintendo was fully aware that the Player cannot complete all of the Side and Main Quests in 3 Days, so they obviously gave the Player the ability to travel back to the First Day so that they could complete all of the quests. Game Mechanic will never be a Confirmation canon event because it is a Game mechanic, and nothing more; In-Universe is the real way canonized something because as longer something really happened withing the Story; then it is Canon. Which is why the Zelda Timeline is not Canon considering that it is based on faulty Eveidences such as Songs, Easter Eggs, and Reference along with Nintendo Interviews and some Books that all they do is Copy and Paste those Easter Eggs, Songs, and Reference instead to actually In-Universe Events.

I wonder if the location of these events matters. Both the fight with Demise and the moment when Zelda plays the ocarina to send link back seem to take place in the Sacred Realm. Perhaps the Sacred Realm exists somewhere outside of time, and events occurring in this liminal space can generate new timelines. Do any other instances of time travel occur in a setting like the Sacred Realm?

Cave Story is my favorite game of all time, I remember being so upset at Curly’s death as a kid that I made it my mission to get the good ending when I was only like 8 years old. Took me hours! Totally worth it, and since then I’ve even beaten it on hard! (I have got to find better things to do)

Alternative answers to your questions about the absence in Minish Cap of the Master Sword and the Triforce: The Master Sword doesn't exist and no one knows about the Triforce. The trick is to recognize that, just like Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword establishes two separate timelines. In the first, Link travels to the past and defeats Demise, and hence the events of SS never need occur--instead, the Goddess Sword becomes known as the Picori Sword, and the Triforce is never assembled because there is no Demise threat. Timeline 1 (the actual Fallen Timeline): SS --> MC --> FS --> FSA --> LttP --> OoS/A --> LA --> EoW --> LbW --> TFH --> CoH --> LoZ --> AoL Timeline 2A (Child Timeline): SS --> OoT --> MM --> TP --> HW Timeline 2B (Adult Timeline): SS --> OoT --> WW --> PH --> ST

Should've had actual content about the memories taking place on the timeline instead of ranting about the temple for so goddamn long. I know it's your video but it's a far cry from your previous video. Just crying about how some people thought one thing and how it wouldn't work can be said in a single segment instead of bringing it up so much

As far as I know pulling the master sword in oot isn‘t even time travel. Links body and soul are just sealed away for 7 year so he is more mature and not killed in the 7 years. I think from a canon standpoint he can‘t even go back with the sword and it‘s just a gameplay mechanic so that the player can still explore the world as child link

What makes me most mad is how people are using timeline splits that explain things that aren’t big issues to begin with. It’s far easier to accept the fact that Zelda is a long running series, and some details are accidentally overlooked when making a new game. Not everything needs a cannon explanation.

maybe it’s hylia’s direct interference to make things work? she’s *probably* the goddess of time so she could pull something like that, and she bothered to incarnate so she must care enough to interfere, so maybe she can manipulate any time travel devices to suit her own wants and needs? ^\/( :/ )\/^

  • @TheAdampr
    @TheAdampr 19 днів тому

If we assume that Hylia is both a Goddess of both Light and Time, maybe only she - or her reincarnations - is the only one powerful enough to cause a Timeline split. It's possible that a timeline split isn't determined by the time travel effect used (causal loop, self-correcting, etc), but by how powerful the time manipulator is (time stones, gates, ocarina of time, Goddess Hylia). It's also possible that the power of a time manipulator determines what effect of time travel is created: low-powered time manipulation can create a self-correcting timeline (the most stable), medium-powered manipulation can create causal loops (unstable), and the highest power can split a timeline (most unstable). Maybe the reason all timelines converge by the time of BoTW and TofK is because self-correcting is the most stable form of time manipulation, so due to all timelines eventually correcting themselves with each other until they are all consistent and indistinguishable from one another. There are some holes in my logic, such as why a downfall timeline exists if Zelda only wanted to create a child timeline, and maybe my power scaling of time travel effects are in the wrong order but thought it's an interesting area to explore further!

I do want to say that the "White sword of the sky" CANNOT be *THE* goddess sword from SS, simply because the goddess sword ended the game as the Master Sword, ergo, the Goddess Sword no longer technically exists. As such, the White Sword of the Sky, from an in-universe standpoint, cannot be more than a manmade replica. Someone saw it in SS Link's hand and said "I like that sword. Imma make my own."

There are some who theorize that the time travel shenanigans at the end of Skyward Sword spawned multiple timelines in a way that caused the Goddess Sword and Master Sword to exist simultaneously. I don't believe that is the case, but I wanted to address it.

The 3rd timeline makes sense if you assume 1. There’s more than 1 of them 2. Link doesn’t actually die, but Ganondorf wins. -Timeline 1 Link gets the master sword and unlocks the sacred realm, Ganondorf sneaks in and attempts to grab the triforce but it becomes split and he only gains the triforce of power while Zelda gets the triforce of wisdom and link is frozen for 7 years but gets the triforce of courage. For 7 years Ganondorf takes over Hyrule and rules with an ironfist. Link awakens from being frozen and at some point he needs to go back to the past. When he does go back to the past this timeline continues to exist. There is no hero to defeat Ganondorf and he continues to take over Hyrule and likely eventually obtains the triforce of courage and wisdom. Meanwhile… -Timeline 2 Link is doing something to the spirit temple or playing the song of storms in a well or some shit. Then he decides to go to the future again. And likely decides to go back to the past again and now timeline 2 is pretty much the same as timeline 1 but there’s one less temple boss around, which isn’t much of an issue for Ganondorf who is unopposed and probably just creates a new monster eventually to replace the one Link killed. This keeps going on and on everytime Link leaves to go to the past until you get to the penultimate timeline (the adult timeline) and the final timeline (the child timeline). So, there should be multiple downfall timelines. But only one child and one adult timeline.

God I PRAY the time travel I'm doing for my Zelda comic makes sense. Should considering all the edits I've been having to do. I told one discord group about the Tree of Life in my story and how it got planted in the past to grow at the spot Link needs to find the Master Sword pedestal. It makes sense to me, but they didnt get it.

Not sure if someone brought it up already but aoc timeline split seems to have happened before terako traveled to the past iirc? in botw it's mentioned that link got the master sword at a pretty young age, long before becoming zelda's knight or a champion, but in aoc he only gets it during the game, so there must have been some other event to cause the split, leading to a creation of a timeline where link was unable to get the master sword as a child for some reason... or, you know, we can just decide it's not canon haha

In most religious sects the idea of a continuing lineage for a position doesn't necessarily mean direct descendant. It could just be another person that fits the position and takes the position which still makes an unbroken line of 'oracles' for a sect.

The only canon instance of timeline splitting is then the ocarina of time is used to send Link AND the Master Sword back in time. It feels like the Ocarina and Master Sword are time travel tools meant to be used together to maintain timeline stability. And when separated, it causes problems. It's suspected that the Master Sword in Wind Waker is NOT the same Master Sword as the one from Ocarina of Time. The time travel in Skyward Sword is stable because the time gates are opened and used with the Master Sword (Or the Goddess tied to them in the case of the one Impa destroys). The Master Sword seems to be the stabilizing anchor for time travel. Sheik does mention that the Master Sword is the vessel one uses to travers the river of time, which could indicate that without out it, safe time travel is not guaranteed. And in respects to Oracle of Ages, its in the name. The Oracle put in charge of time by the gods acts as that stabilizing anchor, since none of the portals could be opened without her power and the harp.

Another possibility about Majora's Mask not making countless amounts of timelines (which frankly could fuse into one since nothing relevant changes as Termina gets entirely destroyed) is that MM didn't really happened? I know people don't like those type of theories because of dumb and disrespectful fanfics, but for MM, a game which its world is built as a carrier of the game's profound messages first and foremost (especially time limitations leading to assets reusing) at the cost of making it make complete sense, it would make sense and not do a disservice to the game if it was diegetically like that too. Even Hyrule Historia and Encyclopedia go kind of on this way by sating it's in a parallel dimension and in a virtual world created by Majora. Personally I'd argue it's more of a magic dream or dream dimension (kinda like in Link's Awakening) inflicted on Link and Skull Kid and maybe the Mask Salesman at the same time magically somehow made to teach them a lesson (and maybe for Link be a premonition of TP's events too). A Link-less timeline made in MM would be neat to explain the "downfall" timeline though. Not ideal since Ganon getting sealed in the Sacred Realm without Link is doubious and unlikely, but "Downfall" timeline has that flaw too so it's still better than it. 🤔 Would be better and simpler to assume that necessary second split would happen "during" the Garudo-Hylian War between MM and TP, probably by the Hero of Time ocarinous time travelling sheninegans in what could make a cool game that we'll never have.

If I’m being completely honest, you are one of my favorite theorists on this entire website. You never insist that you’re right, constantly second guess and fact check. And always try and use Occams Razor whenever you can. I personally would LOVE to see more theories from you. They all are always well researched and edited to perfection. I got a couple of ideas for ones that I haven’t seen any good videos on yet: .Timeline(echoes of wisdom included) .Locomo history/origins .How many different Dimensions/Realms there are+their origins .Did any of Links Awakening affect the rest of the timeline? And of course map theory part 3 with out of hyrule placements.

Genuinely, thank you! There are a LOT of really great theory dudes on UA-cam, so that really specific compliment genuinely means a lot! It really made my day. I do intend to do more Zelda theory and analysis stuff in the future, but I also want to specifically space it out so I don't get too stuck in one category. I have non-theory things I want to talk about. And even some non-Zelda theories I want to do eventually. On the suggested topics, I primarily want to cover topics that interest me personally, and that I haven't seen covered yet or I have a different perspective on. So I am unsure when or if I will get around to some of these topics. But I do have thoughts on Breath/Tears timeline placement, and I will need to address EoW's timeline placement before I do Map theory part 3 (which will eventually happen, but now with a focus on EoW and anything that the TotK Master Works book might bring to light. Realms and dimensions outside Hyrule may have to wait until part 4.)
