About ten years ago, Houseplans dot com was selling some of the Eichler house plans. A handful were built in Palm Springs over the last few years. But that website is not selling the plans any longer. You can certainly come up with a facsimile of an Eichler house designed for today's standards. Check out my website at midmodpad dot com. I sell variations of the theme there.

Thanks, so glad you found it engaging! I don't know the architect for this place, but it is in the Movie Colony area of Palm Springs. The architecture is also reminiscent of Edward Durrell Stone, and it has a round shaped living room behind that rock wall. Very chic in the day, for sure.

Yes, it does! It has extensive illustrations for the Parthenon as well a few other detailed plates on other Athenian monuments. As for the Greek entasis, it's hard to find much about it because it did vary so much. I think it was quite individualistic per building.

Yes, there is much bad architecture out there, both classical and modern. They don't teach classical design in most universities these days. It's a shame, because it's an extraordinary exercise in scale and proportion, two touchstones of architecture. Of course, my creation or anyone else's can be scrutinized, but for heaven's sake, it's not that hard to learn the proper classical vocabulary. Some books on classical architecture are free too, check on Amazon. Learn it, it's so fascinating! Thank you for watching.

Yes, this was thought about quite a bit. Sound insulation can help, but the idea is to have a lookout on the little ones in case they need help or are in distress. Even if they are misbehaving, you want to know about it for their discipline. Imagine if they were running amuck in another wing of the mansion. That could be problematic too. It's a balance.
