Sam, I drive throughout the northeastern US for work. As I look through the hills and mountains I notice that pines/evergreens/conifers tend to grow in groups among deciduous trees or rock outcroppings. It’s particularly evident in the winter when deciduous trees are bare. That might be something to keep in mind as you continue to fill out your forested areas on the layout. Thanks for posting.

The layout is looking great and you have done some nice detail work. Here is a suggestion and not a criticism ... I like to scenic starting in the back which avoids having to work leaning over completed scenery on the front. That's just my way. It's your RR. Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year.

LMAOOOOOOO! Best N Scale layout ever. Advanced level scenery. Hahahahaha, I've seen 3rd graders do better work with mud. You can still see where you carved the foam and just painted and covered it with ground foam, LOL, you crack me up.

Whats your preferred brand of track and switches? Do you mix any of the brands? I been thinking about getting back into the hobby after a 25 year absence. I've been leaning towards just going with atlas code 55 for everything. My previous experiences are with 1940's & 50's American Flyer S gauge. Then 60's & 70's Ho. Wish i never got rid of it... but i could do so much more with N scale 😂
