Переглядів 4455 років тому
This is Ubuntu MATE 19.04 final release, with Linux Kernel 5.0. This works with my computer, while Kernels 4.18 and 4.19 did not. There are still a few problems found in earlier releases, so I have included links to the solutions below. Here are some new features in this Debian-based Linux distribution, as well as some existing ones. NOTE: There are some discontinuities in this video, because I recorded the segments out of order. So, for instance, Libreoffice, which I installed off-camera, appears in the menu, and disappears.

Thank you so much, I am new in Linux but your way worked. Good Job ✌
You haven’t been uploading. Are you fine?
I think xramtech may well have called it a day, for one reason or another... Well missed, an excellent channel.... Be safe.
hola porque que no saco mas videos nuevos saludos de chile
Ubuntu detects automatically but we have to jump through all these hoops for Brother on Fedora? Are we still in the 1990's? Is Brother an unknown company maybe like Ching A Ling Printers?
😃😃😃 Faantastic!!! Right now I solved the problem with v37 epson scanner after at least 3 years! Thanks for you clarity
I appreciate your honesty and the huge effort. I learnt from the video.
Awesome.
this video has been a godsend for me.
Very Helpful, Thanks a lot!!
Thank you very much indeed I couldn't figure out to access the BIOS
This is about 1000000000000000000000 times too long.
Hi xrantech - Date 16 Jan 2021 - There has been some updates on the Epson page - download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du/02/DriverDownloadInfo.do?LG2=EN&CN2=GB&CTI=15&PRN=DS-530&OSC=LX - The 64 bit file is now named - epsonscan2-bundle-6.6.2.2.x86_64.deb.tar.gz - contents = 2 files and the sh.install - When I read the help page - download.ebz.epson.net/man/linux/iscan_e.html - The download is for ( 4. Supported Devices ) Epson Scanner & Epson Multi Function Printer.
Why does this man sound like the narrator at the begining of a movie?
BIOS does not recognize my bootable pen drive. Can you tell why?
Hello there XRT. Hope you are well...?
Thank you for this!
Very helpful, thank you!
I have a CANON LBP 3010 I tried everything till I got frustrated. I even compiled a driver from source from the Canon website. The problem is I get Ubuntu to see the printer and detect its presence and it even tries to send text to it but then nothing happens.
canon always does that. they make one version of driver and never update it until it breaks.
Big update for Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS. I managed to install the drivers without these steps in the latest Ubuntu version. The latest version just requires three steps: 1. Extract the downloaded driver package. 2. Open the terminal in the extracted folder 3. Type "sudo sh install.sh" in the terminal and press enter. Image scan for Linux will now connect to your scanner.
Whenever try to switch on light blink as in sleep mode but not start why
Hi, Thanks for the tutorial! I do still wonder how to change the window outline themes. There are still the openbox settings, but can't find the xfwm customization.
I am trying Ububtu 20.4 & was surprized to see that Ubuntu has not not fixed the scanner problem. I appreciate your video and followed your process to get my Epson V370 photo scanner working.
I would like to install the scanner tu use through wifi...
i did everything you accurately said and yet did not manage to connect epson l386 is there another solution for ubuntu 18.04 lts
Hii
Thanks for sharing this. I enjoy GNOME 3's workflow, but I'm considering XFCE for a lower-spec VM on a non-Linux host, so it's great to see Xfdashboard in action.
Thank you very much, I will go the same way to install fedora 32 on Debian Bullseye.
Sir, you've completely lost me, this is why I find Linux difficult, too much reliance on the Terminal, I'm not a computer programmer. Simple scan used to work on my old HP 1400 scanner, but it just won't work on my new HP Deskjet 2630.
I was really frustrated for ages, my scanner did not work until I found your video. I am very grateful to you, thank you very much.
Your awesome
Thank you, this is very helpful.
Works for me too for Epson Perfection v350. You could save a lot of keying in a terminal if you use some of the Bash command line editing functions. Up and down arrow for command history, home key to left end, end key to right end, tab for name completion is most useful. Thank you for your precise instructions.
It work for Canon pixama g2010. Tell me how to download these files
Great video from a great professionist! Thank you very much, now my scanner works perfectly. Only one suggestion: my Ubuntu pc worked perfectly only after the restart.
Good info thanks!
Well done! However, I would have loved if you had demonstrated the success of the installation. Anyway, cheers!
Thank you so much. I have been frustrated by Mint 19.1 not recognizing my Epson PERFECTION V300 PHOTO scanner for months. I had reached the point of evaluating other distros. I don't understand why the developers have not corrected this problem by now. You saved the day, not to mention my sanity. Thanks again.
Haven't seen a video from you in a while. Hope you are doing well.
At first, I have to say that your video is very nice. However, I have two questions: I intend to install ubuntu on my hard drive. One of my friend told me that I do not need a swap area. However, you allocate a swap area. What is this swap partition used for ? Another friend told me that you need a swap area, but it must be partitioned as logical, not primary. These two cases contradict with this video, and I am a little bit confused. By the way, I will set up robotic software platform and perform some robotic simulations in this ubuntu. Some resources say that swap area is used for virtual ram, so it should be defined as much as possible for these robotic stuff.
starting with Ubuntu 17.04 a swap file is provided instead of a swap partition, but you can still provide a swap partition if you wish.
Been missing your quality content, AND your dulcet tones..:-) Hope all is well for you and yours... Best wishes....
Thanks. I have been ill. I hope to make more videos, soon.
Gnome, XFCE, or KDE? Regular, universal, or global?
Does running the MX Updater have the same effect as running 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade'?
Yes, with one exception, and that's if MX moves to a different base IE. 18.3 was the last version based on Debian 9, and MX claims that because MX 19 is based on Debian 10, you have to perform a fresh install.
@@narwhal4304 Thanks. I have used 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' several times by now. I guess I'll stay on MX 18.3 for a little while longer.
Thank you very much sir, bless you.
pyRenamer is good, though renrot does more than that and allows to use basically any tag from Exif in the name. Though it is a script and needs a command line to run (or a configuration file)
what is this, Cinnamon for dummies
Adding a list of the actions in plain text on this page would be an enormous help. But thanks anyway: you've convinced me that I can replace my hp deskjet printer with an epson printer without fear.
You mention that pyrenamer is no longer available. In caja, highlight a group of files and right-click. The menu will show a noticeable A at the bottom. There is a renamer, just like pyrenamer. One more wonderful feature of MATE, and Ubuntu MATE is, hands down, the best desktop for complete beginners and old hands alike.. It has a Welcome screen, very easy to use, which contains programs that users will install anyway. With apps that come from a PPA, it saves the PPA, and downloads directly from the PPA, without updating. A new installation, idle, uses <500MB. The best distro, and the best UI combine to make, after some distro-hopping over the years, the best distro I have ever installed. HIGHLY recommended.
The bulk renamer in Caja is nowhere near as versatile as PyRenamer.
Hello, how do you decide the size for swap area? Other video set to 8000MB because the system has 8GB ram. Please assist
It is a rule of thumb to make the swap partition as large as the RAM, but if you have lots of RAM, that much swap space may not be necessary. For most applications, 2 GB is enough. If you want to hibernate, however, you may need more, up to 3X RAM.
I found a very simple to problem -Scanner -Linux Ubuntu 18 i.e Buy vuescan $10.00 Simple
It works perfectly. Thank you!
