I thought I bought a bage Maker but I made a typo and said bagle Maker!!! How do I return items on temu?😂
@Blockytalk well before returning it, why not make a couple bagels and send them to yours truly, nobody will know 😉
@charlesfatt it blew up moral of the story don't buy this that cost -1$😩
Ok fine I will subscribe
@@Blockytalk you better if you know what's good for ya.
This made me cry with happiness
Just remember you have to leave out cookies for Santa Charles, because if you don't, he might toot in your chimney, and put EXLAX in your stocking.😝
What a great idea, lots of good details in there!
I'm glad you liked it. Let me know if you have any particular videos that you liked best. Till then, later, gatter🐊
MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm!!! Dr. Charles strikes again. :)
OOOOH YAAAH!😜
Sometime you need to let out a MMMMmmmmmm!!!! lol...
MMMMmmmmmmmmm!!!! 🤣
I have heard of this before it was not that useful back in the day but it was advanced for its time it reminds me of the impossible mission saying "stay awile stay forever!" --I hope you reach 300 subscribers soon! 🎉 thanks for the video!
It was kind of a novelty back then. Not many people had it. Partly because it was a little spendy, also not many people understood what a speech synthesizer was. Another problem was a lack of software support. Fortunately you could play any text baced game and have it read the text out loud. Games such as Zork, Amazon Adventure. The Organ Trail, and Eliza
Love the grappling hook lol
Yaa, kinda didn't have an actual grappling hook so I had to emphasize 😅
Iconic
Lol! Ya wild!!!! Good stuff.
Also...... It's just a flesh wound! :)
I should have made a battle scene at the end with Charles cutting off the Monte Python Black knights arms and legs, that would have been cool.
Indentation can be 1 space, 3 or 4 is more usual, the motors turning was not always visible (left side), a bit of tape sticking out like a flag would have helped.
Thanks for the info. Will be sure to put tape or soothing so you can see the motor turn next time.
@@charlesfatt that will be soothing or something i guess
Charles sunk in my house and stole my picture!
Thanks for the picture man!
you should make a one drive folder where anyone can upload there work and see each others!
Interesting 🤔
Watching this series makes me hungry i don't know why?
You just have to get you some PI
your next video will be titled (How to make a working car that can fly!) 😆
I have heard of a house fly 🪰, also a dragon fly, and even a horse 🐎 fly. 🤔 but never heard of a car fly😂. I'll have to look to see if it's possible
@@charlesfattif it is possible let me know how to do it 😅
@mckinleyfilms I got an idea though. What if we get a billion flies and glue them to the top of your car, then all at once have them flap their wings. That might work.
I hated your character as soon as you started talking, but by the end of the video it was starting to grow on me. Anyway, nice content. Could definitely use some polish as far as being a video, but the technical aspects were great.
@jameso7826 Thanks, man. I get the polish out 🤣
muted half way, if natural voice ok, if not then stop forcing it ...
feels like im watching wrestling
Just call me Macho Man Charles 🤪, Ooooh Yaaah!. I could make a video on that.
Every time he'd say anything, I kept hearing "oh yeah!". Like Macho Man Randy Savage (at least I'm pretty sure it was him, lol). Regardless, it was a good video that goes back to the basics, and it's always a good idea to have a refresher.
@@heatherryan9820 Maybe I should do a video of Charles playing a wrestler. Eating Slim Jims🤔 , could happen.
nice
You know it, Glad you liked the video.
You did a great job explaining, thank you
Your certainly welcome. There was so much more I wanted to put into the video; however, it was getting too long, and I figured I'd save it for a future video. thanks for the comment,
Thanks mate, great content. But maybe you don't need the mask and the voice. Keep it going.
Agree, the mask and voice is a bit much.
Not everybody likes the man in the mask. I made up the Charles character when I was 12 years old. If I could change anything about my character would be the voice. Perhaps in the future I will give Charles a friend with a more loveable voice who can do most of the talking. 😁 thanks for the comment.
😜
@@charlesfatt Again, great video, thanks for sharing the knowledge. I understand that not everyone wants to show their face on UA-cam and that is OK, but maybe a more pleasant voice would attract more deserved viewers. Hope you reach the success you deserve.
@ulbrich thanks for watching, and the comments 😊
Great Video🤠 very informative, yet funny.
Glad you think so! Ya know, ya got to make it a bit funny, gotta keep it interesting. Thanks for the comment 👍
Game maker Rocks!!!
🪨 rocks, I don't remember making any rocks in this video. 😜 glad you liked it. Thanks for the comment 👍
Wow, I am liking these Game Maker tutorials.🤖
You just keep watching, we'll make more. I think in the future I may remake the atari game Combat, until then, later gater, thanks for the comment 👍
Charles, You must know how to do everything. from computer programing to hopping and chopping. Wow, what's next?
You've got to know a lot of stuff to be like Charles. Even how to hop and chop and flush too. You never know what is going to happen next. That's just why you need to like and subscribe. Thanks for the comment 👍
Quit chasing those ducks!!! Lol!!!
I should have put that dog 🐕 on a leash, now my ducks have all flown away 🤪 But seriously. This was the first video I made that I used software to clone Charles voice. And have him actually read the Garry Kitchens manual. Hopefully, it sounded close enough to being real. I am still pondering if I should do the second chapter of the book. In the meantime, I am currently working on a video of Charles doing a martial arts video. Thanks again for the comment 👍
@@charlesfatt good studf lol. Demonstrate a karate chop in the game Karateka. Lol!
Karateka was a fun game too. Maybe in the future, I can remake it too🤔
Dr. Charles, This one is close to my heart as Outlaw was the first game I ever played on an Atari 2600 & it's the first in a series of events that would shape my future & lead me down the path into a career in IT that has now spanned over 4 decades. So a quick overview into my backstory is that my dad who himself had a very long career in Telecommunications with AT&T, which eventually led to the 1984 breakup of the monopoly & my dad ended up being part of an upstart company called Verizon. ( has anyone ever heard of this company? it's pretty obscure.) but anyway. He had a good friend who he worked with and lived near us in the same town, one night while visiting, he brought out this new fangled contraption that hooked up to his TV, the minute he turned it on I was freakin glued to it. He popped in the Outlaw cart & we all spent hours laughing our asses off while taking pot shots at each other in game. I'm guessing I was no more than 10 years old at the time. fast forward a few years to 1981, I was graduating grammar school, my dad asked me what I wanted as a graduation present. I immediately asked for the 2600. I had the whole summer to play with it before starting High School. It was a great time to be alive!!
Charles you're amazing I like all the things that you do and I like how handsome you are.
Yup! Thanks, I owe it to my wonderful mommy, who taught me to always put the toilet seat down. And to conserve on water by not flushing for days on end. She even taught me how to cook. Maybe not a raspberry pi but a dingle berry pie. Boy, those were the days. Thanks for the comment. You'll have to let me know what your favorite video is. Later Gator 🤪
Love the energy! ^_^ It's like in your face and I think it's ironic for something like a game build tutorial lol
This is what happens to me when I don't have my caffeine in the morning 😜 but seriously thanks for watching, and the comment.
Crazy youtube recommendations. Much love from Ukraine
UA-cam sure has some weird algorithms sometimes. You never know when and where my videos will pop up. But I'm glad you found it. Thanks for the comment. Take care there in Ukraine. 🙂
i thought that was an elaborate troll at first, wow
Darn those trolls. Ya never know about them. Thanks for watching though.
Nice, Outlaw is a perfect choice for a simple game to program, lots of possible variations too.
I could have gone further and show how to make the bullets bounce off the walls, or I could have made them able to shoot through the wagon, bullet by bullet, however, the video was getting a bit long, possibly another video. Thanks for the comment 👍
Another Garry Kitchen's game?! Yeeee!!!
Yes sir, I hope you enjoy it. It was a little longer than I'd like, I even talked really fast. But I hope you like it. 👍 thanks for the comment.
@@charlesfatt Great stuff! Need to dig out my Garry Kitchen disk.
This is so much fun watching these
It was also fun making it, too. Thanks for the comment 👍
I will try thag thing. Love it
You should! Just don't shoot the neighbors windows out. Also it shoots further if you use a stick to push the walnut or potato 🥔 down the barrel. I should have demonstrated in the video, but didn't get around to.
Man your channel is golden, subbed for all this incredible info thank you 🙏
Anytime, thanks for the comment 👍
This is so cool, I have just a few questions about this program. Can you output to a physical copy (like a floppy so you can make a custom box) and can you program enemies to use pathfinding or a simple move towards player AI?
Yes you can compile your finished copy of your game to a floppy disk 💾 or a image file if your using an emulator like VICE. Also, the game can boot independently. For your second question, the answer is no for pathfinding. However, you can tell the sprites to go the same direction as you, and with a little creative coding move towards the player. Hopefully that answers your question.
@@charlesfatt so cool, thanks a lot and hope to see more guides in the future 👍
@AdamBarkerThe in my next game maker video I plan to remake the old atari game called Outlaw. I have the game made, but I haven't had time to make the video give me a week or two.
😂
🤪
Great video, Dr. Charles. Now I have a sudden urge to play the game.
You should try it, it's a classic.
I didn't know you could use an actual drive from VICE like that, pretty cool.
That is cool. Sure makes it allot easier to back up your old software. Or just play your old games directly from your drive. I should mention there are other ways to connect the drive using OPENCBM and other GUI software. However, I just like the feel of using Vice. Thanks for the comment 👍
I made a couple of games with this back in the day (lost unfortunately). GameMaker is a good example of software fulfilling a need. It worked better for games than BASIC extensions by replacing the slow, floating-point based language entirely with something more efficient. And it offered more design tools than just a simple built-in sprite editor. The results moved into the realm of programs written in machine language. One of its strong points was the ability to move several sprites together as you've shown here.
It would have been awesome to have a tutorial for Game Maker back in the day. I guess better late than never. I started making the videos because I had a 14 year old nephew who was interested in the Commodore 64. Turns out he loved the Game Maker. So I kept making more. Turns out other people like these videos, too. Thanks for the comment 👍 now onto my next video 📹
So funny, I laughed my butt off.
You laughed your butt off. Then how do you poop? Thanks for the comment. Good luck with the pooping.
These videos are so damn weird.
And I wouldn't want it any other way. Thanks for the comment 👍
Buddy.. you clearly put alot of time into this and your other videos.. but why?.. This character you created.. it's just not funny..
I appreciate your comment. And yes I do put allot of time in the videos. I actually have 3 UA-cam channels I am running, this is by far the weirdest. You either like it or you don't. I started this channel because I had a kid that just loved the character Charles and now I have nephews and nieces that also like it. A lot of the videos I make are geared towards them. And that's all that matters to me. If other people happen to find the videos worth watching I guess that's good too. I just make the videos for fun. And maybe to learn a little something along the way. But thanks for watching anyway 😊
Well that satisfies my fix to see Aliens in its entirety. Really enjoying the C64 content!
I had been wanting to do this video for a while now. Took a bit longer to make than I thought. But it turned out OK, I think. I may change the thumbnail, but I'm not sure if I like it. Now onto the next video. Thanks for the comment 👍
The bow at ths end is epic.
Gotta give credit where credit is due. Thanks for watching, and the comment.😊
Very informative DR. Charles!!
Glad to be of service. Thanks for the comment 👍
Cheers to my absolute favorite random stuff chanel
Awe, you're so kind. Thanks for your comment. And if you have a favorite video, let me know.😊
I'm not sure how I got here, I don't know wat's going on. I'm confused and intrigued and feel like I should warn the authorities. 👍
There Ain't nothing like a good old Charles video right away in the morning. I think UA-cams algorithm must be working overtime today. That being said. It's just a channel dedicated to crazy stuff. If you go to the homepage and click on Playlist, all my videos are separated into categories like 3D printing design, Retro gaming, and coding... Charles mother sometimes watches this channel, so for the most part the worst thing you'll hear him say is poop 💩 Thanks for watching. Now onto my next video 📹
