Paraguay is a land crossed by many streams and rivers. From the smallest brook emerging from a spring to the largest river winding it's way slowly across the lowlands.
Here in the uplands many of the youngest streams are to be found. From their origins they wind their way through wooded valleys growing in size all the time before dropping down to join the great rivers flowing across the plains.
The water in these upland streams, especially close to their sources, is crystal clear. It is also cool and refreshing.
As such it is not uncommon for an area with a stream running through to have been turned into a country park.
During the summer season these can be at weekends full with crowds seeking a pleasant spot to relaxing in and bathe. Places to escape the full force of the summer sun.
Outside the holiday season however they are on the whole quiet pleaceful places know only to the locals.
I am fortunate to have such countryside around me and the location featured in this video, Chololo, is not far at all from my home.
