That’s why I would really never recommend getting a CS degree and just climbing your way up from a junior admin job or helpdesk. I have an AAS in networking and an azure cert which I would say was good to get my foot in the door but I wouldn’t recommend getting any more than an AAS and a cert or two. Only a CS if you want to work for a big tech place but even then I’d argue if you are good enough they would still hire you.

I would greatly appreciate if you could reference linux commands versus windows while covering each question. Granted, I'm 5 minutes in. Perhaps you cover it later.

696/650 core 1 passed. Been 10 minutes, it's like waking from dream, need to write down before i forget. These questions were good. Lots of virtualization questions, with some ports. Positioning APs in an office for minimal interference in conference room and such. Moving/replacing hard drives in two servers, 1 expected to failure and 1 already failed. Configuring two computers, one gaming and one family computer. What to check when setting up a webinar, mic speakers and camera. Company solutions for virtual desktops, or renting clouds from a third party. Hybrid clouds, private etc. Punch down tools and ONT converting optical signals to whatchamacallit. Choosing proper cables for connecting switches, routers and cable speed that delivers 10GBnet.

i got an interviewed that got scrutinized technically since i have no cert. little did they know i Self studied 2 CCIE track and got experience to back it up. i was not hired but i ate the Panel interviewers Alive😅 it felt great since im an introvert that started getting out of my shell

I still haven't gotten all of my cert or my first job but while I was in bootcamp they told me if you don't have soft skills nobody will hire you.

The bottom line with IT people is they are users of software, and not writers of it. Being skilled and setting up and using complex software is a valuable skill, but only takes you so far. To go further, you need to learn programming. And not just scripts.

Not everything needs to be about climbing the corporate ladder.

i’ve been in IT for close to 3 years. I have the 2nd part of my jr sys adm interview in a few days. What i’ve come to realize is these companies don’t expect you to know everything. You just have to know enough to the point where they can train you and you can catch on relatively quick
