I'll be buggered. Shame the line isn't currently active, but it is still maintained. There's been talk of it being used for grain for years but nothing has eventuated so far

One of the N Sets was sent to Bendigo today for scrapping, and all but one of these H Sets have made their way to Bendigo to be destroyed

@@RailAustralia an N set has been scrapped!!! They should’ve given that set to 707Ops since I heard they need more passenger carriages!!!

@Merri-bekRailfan apparently the set needed A LOT of work to remain in service, and with the $$ involved it seems they'd rather use the money elsewhere. Other Ns in better condition will end up with some of the Heritage groups over time - but those that took H sets might struggle for room to store them.

Some sets did go to Heritage groups. Can't save em all

@@RailAustralia Yes mate .Top Aussie Bands 7 nights a week ,in 1981 i was a Light Guy for Mushroom Records ,seen and worked with many Top Aussie Artists ,in Sydney and Melbourne ,i quit in 84 to pursue another career path ,i belong to a Group called the Debonaires ,based in Melb ,we have a lunch every month ,you get to meet many Top Aussie Bands ,these days were getting to old ,lol

@@RailAustralia I went out at around 4pm to watch it come through Numurkah, sat there for over an hour and saw JACK. Maybe the heat has affected the freight movements in Vic this week??

Same experience James. Possibly a heat issue, although there's some works happening on Shepp line at the moment too

Personally prefer the loco hauled services, but they're being replaced with VLoc sets and we have none running in our area. The Sprinters from Seymour to Melbourne are also a pretty nice ride. What about you?

I prefer n classes because I think they look cooler. I live on the lilydale line so I never really ride Vline. I guess the old VLocity is better for the same reason

There's no set schedule for Grain Trains, they run on demand as needed

Usually departs Toc mid afternoon, comes through Shepparton around 7pm. Same on Wednesday & Friday

The set at Echuca is apparently unsafe to be transported to Bendigo via rail - so possibly for donor parts, but this lots beyond salvage
