I've been running in the Saucony Peregrine Trail Shoe for years. If you are looking for the perfect neutral trail shoe for trail running of any distance, there are few better than this. I've laced up every single version of the shoe to date. Some have been great, some not so great. But I'm brand loyal and will always try every model they release. These ones are great. Not a wholly different sho...

How do you feel these would do on packed snow flat trails or snowy roads?
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing your race. This was one of the best running movies I’ve seen in a long time. Great commentary, fabulous music, super editing and just a great combination of visuals and sounds and insights. I’ve never run 100 miler but you’ve got me fully inspired!
Thanks for bringing us along, Alexander! Some great insights into this race that we don't always see on mainstream coverage.
Hey Brett, I appreciate the thoughts! I'm glad some of it could be helpful, if any at all. For average runners like me it can be difficult to know what to expect. I hope this is helpful for more people. Thanks for watching and sharing!
I hope this upper will be better love my 13s but the upper is getting pretty torn the outer thin layer is completely gone around the midfoot bend and my coulourful socks are totally visible through the shoe
First of all, why put a whole gel pack into your mouth. Ugh
Haha, you do crazy things on the race course when your brain isn't working properly.
Congrats for get the finish line. I live again the same emotion that i lived in august! Thanks for sharing your video!
Hey Alberto! It's really emotional, isn't it? No matter where we are on that race course, the beauty and the challenge will always make it amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing🎉🎉🎉 Greetings from denmark🇩🇰🇩🇰
Hey Dennis! Great to have you here from Denmark, thanks for watching. How's the running in Denmark? I've been meaning to make a trip out there.
you are a great inspiration, I have my first 100k race this year. to be honest denmark is very flat, you should rather visit sweden or norway which has amazing nature and some big mountains. wish you all the best.
Great video and congrats on the sub-40hr time.
Thanks so much, Kim! It was a tough one but I'm glad for the finish. And glad for you stopping in to watch!
Great movie, and even more so that I managed to catch it 😊
Thanks so much! I appreciate the watch.
Awesome!! 🎉
Thanks brother!
Great video. I was excited to log in and become your 1,000th subscriber :) I'm local and run those trails often but haven't done a 100 yet. Well done.
Hey Mitch, Welcome aboard! So glad to have you along for the ride. Thanks for helping me cross the threshold of my 1,000th sub! Whether it's 1 mile or 100 miles, it's all good. It's just great to get out on the trail, right! Thanks for the message.
Really great video
Hey Daan, thanks for watching! you rock. Enjoy the miles! ✌️
Great run, great video!
Thanks so much, Scott! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and to share!
Congrats!I like your personality and positivity. Only thing that I will say is that I think it is a shame that you edited out the part where you were struggling. This just as interesting as the fun and playful parts if not more.
Hey, i appreciate the watch and the thoughts! I fully agree. I try to capture the full range of the experience and in many of my race videos I do. In this situation i had a few reasons why I didn't film for a while and missed the low points. When I get low in mood and energy my mind slips and I simply forget to film for those stretches of time. My battery died for most of loop 4 so I wasn't able to catch much until I got back for 5 and changed batteries. That's why i dropped in and gave the update in the middle because I didn't have race footage from that time. But you're very right, it loses the tension. I try to give it the full range for whatever experience I capture but sometimes I miss it! Glad to have you watching and sharing your thoughts! 👌
@@alexdtucker I full understand. And I have no real sense of what it takes to document one self under such curcumstances. I understand if it also can become too personal. Keep up the good work.
✌️ You got it! We'll keep at it. Thanks again!
About salomon adv skin 12 I am exactly between XL and L with 109cm mesuarment. What do you recommend? Smaller or Larger? Thanks
Hey Antonis! good question. I'm somewhere between a M & L myself but size up to a Large and it fits nicely. I think the size down is just a little too snug to fill and still adjust for comfort. The elastics and clips make it easy to bring it in and adjust to your preference so I'd probably go up instead of down.
@alexdtucker greetings from Greece 🇬🇷 Thanks a lot
Antonis! Γεια σου φίλε μου! From your greek-american running friend. Where are you in Ελλάδα?
@@alexdtucker I am from Patra city!
Nice! Patra is lovely.
That is so awesome 😁👌🫡👏
I appreciate the watch and thoughts, James. One step at a time, right?! thanks for being here.
As a subscriber to multiple ultra runners, I am surprised how few subscribers you have, given the quality of your content. Keep it up.
Hey Michael! Thanks for watching, I appreciate the positive feedback. I wonder the same thing haha. Share with your friends and maybe we can change that! Were you out there at Javelina this year?
Agreed!
@@alexdtucker I think you will have more if you capture the bad times too. There is no real story/drama if we only get the positive side of the run where it looks easy.
Thanks so much, that means alot. I appreciate it!
Agreed! Did what I could with the limits i experienced but I'll do my best to share the full experience in the future. thanks again!
You honestly deserve an award for looking so fresh even after 100(!!!!) miles! Unbelievable! Great video! Thanks for sharing this story of yours! 🙂
Wow, thank you so much, Jon! It certainly doesn't feel like that, but the hard work is done to make sure that it's not just a finish, but an enjoyable experience too. Sometimes it actually works out like that too! Thanks for watching, Jon! What parts did you enjoy most for future videos?
Very nice. You looked as comfortable as one can be on most of the video. I think I struggled more on my first marathon.
Thanks so much! (as you know, the harder the section of the race, the harder it is to film, so there were some low moments in there too... just like Javelina, haha). Thanks for being with me on the races!
Get it, Alexander! Dance your way to Javelina! All the best! 🕺🏃🏽
thank you thank you, Emma!
Best of luck at Javelina!
Thanks so much! I appreciate it!
Just did my first 50k on these. Only second run on them and not one blister or hot spot. Loved them.
I'm so glad you like them too, Andrew! I love them. I do get some heal rub but they're still one of my favorite trail shoe lines out of them all.
Thanks for your tips! See you out there! 🎉
Hey Anita! How did it go for you?!
Yes king, give us nothing
😂
I wish Saucony would slap a vibram sole on their trail shoes. For some reason I burn through the Powertrac very quickly (my poor gait).
I agree. The outsole of those powertracs don't hold up for me, especially on really rocky trails and crossover asphalt.
The insole is 2mm lower, so while the K14 is 31mm/27mm, the K15s are 29/25. Both insoles are still reportedly TPU-based, but the K14s is called out as a PWRRUN+ sockliner, and the K15s as "SRS". Haven't picked up the 15s yet, but I hope I like them more than the 14.
Do I need to up size to choose this shoe? My foot size is between 28 - 28.5 cm
The heal on my 14 has been tough for me to break in. Great video though and it’s a good shoe.
Totally agree
I've got a pair of peregrine 10 and i love them😊
Don't eat street tacos two days before the race.
Truth! Were you apart of the group from the hotel that got food poisoning a few years back? That sounded like a real bruiser. Great suggestion. No street meat!
They are on sale where I live. Hard to pick the right color. Saucony's fit me the best also. Better than any other brand. I might get this show for some tempo track runs runs.
This was a great video man, enjoyed following you on your journey!
HI Alex...Your video a few years back about Long Haul 100 in Florida was my go-to video when I was training for that race. Now I've moved to AZ and you come through for me again. I'm getting ready for the 2024 JJ, and I hope to see you out on the course! Thanks for being an inspiration and for the great knowledge. If someone asks to take a selfie with you as a fangirl, it will be me. :) -- AL
AL! That is the coolest story, i'm so glad you shared with me! And I'm pumped to hear about your successes on the trails through the years. These races are not for the faint of heart. Well done. I look forward to seeing you at race day in Fountain Hills. It's going to be a blast. Come find me!
Is it hard to run in a mask? I wouldn’t be able to breathe
Oh god, yes! Some of that footage is from Javelina 2020 where we had to mask for aid stations. We didn't have to run the whole race in it but even just passing through aid stations in the heat was so uncomfortable!
Excellent video Alex!
wow, this is one of the clearest breakdowns I've seen of the Kinvaras! I've been trying to switch to a lower drop, "no frills" neutral shoe for my shorter road runs at the advice of my running physio after a form analysis. I'm quite enjoying the 13s, they're definitely highlighting some calf strength deficiencies I need to work on (after years of road miles in high-drop Brooks Ghosts) but I really like how light and snappy they feel, and that I can actually feel the ground beneath me - every company seems obsessed with cushion and stack height nowadays... i kept reading online that the kinvara 14s were somewhat unpopular so it's good to see version 15 is a winner. anyway great vid and good suggestion from the algorithm, you got a new subscriber!
Wow, I'm glad you shared this gem with us! It's the best documentation I've seen on UTMB. Great video!🔥
Great video and sub 40 for UTMB is amazing. Wow UTMB thats the dream. Good job!!!!
Well done! You're a legend! Congratulations! 💪🙌👍🏼🏃🏼♂️
This was excellent!
Great to live this race again though your perspective! I was also a finisher this year, hope to come back soon! Great film, keep it up 👌
Thanks Gallo! I appreciate the watch. And congrats on the finish this year, incredible effort. How did it go for you?
Wait, it is one month after UTMB 2024 and you are uploading a video about UTMB 2023?
Hey Peter! Yeah, that was from 2023 UTMB. I had a bunch of footage and finally got around to doing a video about it. Thanks for watching!
Better late than never 😊
Great video! Made me subscribe! 😊
Welcome aboard Jeff! Appreciatcha! What did you enjoy most from the video for future videos?
At the end. “What’s your tiny dream?” A girlfriend that is under 200lbs
I think yours is the first real-world review of the 15 on YT. :) Anyway, I've been running in Kinvaras since the 9th version. Currently, I have the 13 but I'm concerned about the 14 because most of the reviews I've read or seen say that they are too narrow. Now eyeing the 15 but woukd like to ask- how does its fit compare to the 13?
If you buy the 14 a half size up you should be ok. I usually run in an 11.5 Bought the K14 in a 12 & had zero fit issues..
Loved following the journey
I appreciate it, thanks for watching Trackhouse!
It seemed like some of the gnarliest sections were in the last 10 miles or so and yet, you looked so strong at the end. Your sense of humor, smile, and positive attitude throughout were magnifique! Congratulations on an excellent race and thank you for an engaging, beautiful, and fun video.
Thanks so much! I appreciate those thoughts and for sharing your observations. In setting up my training plan with my coach, I told him I don't just want to finish this race, I want to finish strong and feeling positive. So most of my training was aimed at keeping gas in the tank for the end and for staying positive and excited through the end. It doesn't always work like that but fortunately it came together for UTMB! I appreciate ya, thanks for watching!
Yoga mat WOW
Guy in denim is Andrew Glaze!
Awesome catch! Haha, yeah you spotted him from afar! The icon AG.
Great performance!! The american in jeans you mentioned right in the beginning of the race was Andrew Glaze with his famous jorts ;)
Great eye, Jacob! I love how you spotted him from afar. Though Glaze has a pretty signature look and running gate so he's hard to miss. Good catch! Yeah, we ran for a while but I didn't see him much after Les Contamines.
