I've talked with my mother about this for a while. We've gone to the same store since at least 97, and I was a baby. Probably longer for my mom. Produce was always good. Meat was always good. Now? That store is so bad. Everything goes bad so fast. Ground beef goes bad and all nasty within a day or 2. Half the produce is rotting on the shelf despite them checking daily. It goes bad quick at home. I couldn't even get a good watermelon there all of last year. They used to have the best watermelons. Thought it was just that store going downhill.

I know compared to other stuff that’s been mentioned here, the one girl admitting to her boyfriend every time he talks, she looks at his gap is not a crazy take. But like, it’s one of those things where he’s probably gonna be very conscious of that now. Like, even if it wasn’t an insecurity before or now, for me personally I’d be hella aware of that going forward 😅 it was just completely unnecessary to mention imo.

I buy from the local farmers in the summer/fall and freeze it. I’m exploring other methods of food preservation when everything comes back in season. When I go to the store the quality of the food isn’t even close!

They are selling old produce. They pick it a year in advance and store it and then sell it. Another problem is ppl can’t afford it, so it’s just spoiling in the grocery store. They would rather let it spoil rather than give it away.

When I was saying this years ago, everyone called me a conspiracy theorist. Lactaid milk used to last months, once properly refrigerated. Now it’s going bad in 2 weeks. It doesn’t even taste the same

Honestly the problem is the average American doesnt understand food safety. Which requires you to keep food stored at proper temps both freezer and refrigerator. Go buy some food grade thermometers to see what the temperature is in your fridge. Plus storage is important too.

Just check out where your fruits and veggies are imported from. Most of these products are setting on docks after being shipped from other countries. Now the bread, and cheese should not be molded because they are made here...allegedly but who knows.😮

It is normal bc mold fungus is learning quicker and quicker, gets more resistant to Azol which is sprayed on it on these mono cultures and which is the same being used to treat humans in hospitals (w/o effect since we've been eating Azol for so long). Mono cultures are mainly for animal food production = meat yall had so much time going vegan but instead yall wanted mono cultures so don't expect resistant fungi and bacteria, virus strains to be defeated by the very stuff you have eaten with all antibiotics yall have been consuming in masses through animals.

I guess I'm the only weirdo that only buys meat/ produce when I'm going to use it ASAP... For what this looks like, people are essentially complaining because the food isn't made with the same amount of preservatives that it used to be made with. Freshly prepared, good quality food does not last a week or two. Freshly picked produce does not have a shelf life of a week or longer. High quality, no preservative having foods are not going to last for a week or more; unless you either freeze it, or preserve it in some other way. I think people have gotten so used to process foods that have a long shelf life, that when they get high quality food that isn't so riddled with preservatives, they literally have no idea how to properly purchase or utilize it. They think freshly picked and prepared food that is high quality and doesn't have a bunch of chemicals and preservatives in it is supposed to last as long as products that have preservatives and chemicals in them. If you want food with a logger shelf life, I suggest you buy canned goods, dried foods, or you start freezing your food when you purchase it. Otherwise, expect for it to go bad within a couple of days. This isn't a sign of the food losing quality. Quite the opposite, it's a sign of it being higher quality, and utilizing less chemicals and preservatives. But people need to pull their heads out of being used to preservative packed foods with long shelf life.
