Challenges are inevitable, as you see. Sometimes, the only thing you can do is stay determined. There were so many obstacles leading right up to the competition that I could have easily given up and been on the next flight home. However, in hindsight, had I given up due to the amount of TEMPORARY frustration I was feeling, I would have missed out on what was always intended for me. A title. A c...
HOW TO TRAIN DURING PREP

Determine what your priority is going to be for either that specific day or the week. It might be reps or it could be weight. It could be length or quickness. Whatever it is, set that priority and attack the mission the best way that you can. When determining the priority, don’t lose sight of the TECHNIQUE. When you lose your technique you end up only cheating yourself. As you see, I am learnin...

Do what you know is right. And by that, I mean do what you know needs to be done. Especially on the days you are dreading it the most. I find that when I do the things that I have been thinking about blowing off or cutting corners, I always end up being extremely thankful that I followed through. What keeps me determined? My end goal. Don't sell yourself short but cheating yourself. Because whe...

When we get too comfortable, it’s easy to slowly pull our foot away from the gas. The next thing we know is that our foot has been removed from that pedal entirely, losing the momentum that was once built. Don’t let a change in your environment, routine, or your next goal(s) allow you to become too comfortable. In doing this you might find yourself picking up extra duties that you didn’t once h...

ABSORB the results of your accomplishments. Whether if it was the outcome you were striving for or not. Give yourself and your body the gratitude it deserves. It got through the ups and downs of your process. Thank you for sticking with me throughout this journey. You saw me on my good days and my challenging days. Even if I don't reply, the words of encouragement have not and never will go unn...
CONTEST PREP: PEAK WEEK
Переглядів 593 роки тому
Weeks like this one reveal how determined one is to power through that finish line. Powering through the finish line means giving 110% all the way through. As you see, I had to maintain my mental strength this week. Making sure my focus and thinking remain leveled. Don’t allow your mentality to throw off the progress you have made physically. Just a few days left but we are working the same as ...

Learn how to have fun with your routine. Don’t see it as something overly repetitive because it doesn’t have to be that way. For my meal prep, for example, I still have to do it daily, but I make sure that I can still enjoy it as much as possible. While incorporating a little twist of fun in the routine, incorporate challenges. Challenge yourself to push beyond that wall that’s been stopping yo...

Attention to detail always comes full circle. My attention to detail during my workouts shows up during posing practice. My attention to detail with mg nutrition is showing up during posing practicing. Even my attention to detail while learning (how to pose) is coming full circle. I still have work to do but that means I still have more room to GROW and get even BETTER!💯 Hard doesn’t mean impos...

Whichever hat you're wearing at the moment, stay consistent. Remain consistent with your routine, your preparation, and be sure to follow through each and every time. As you see, although I am preparing for my competition, I still have many other roles to fulfill. So I am making sure that I am keeping myself on track to be as successful as I can be in all of those areas. So, as you are fulfilli...

Progress doesn’t come by doing the same things over and over again. Progress comes by stepping out of your comfort zone and BUILDING on what you’ve already been doing. You see that just the warm up made me realize that it was going to be a tough one. However, I also realized that because it was going to be a tough one that it is making me BETTER. 💯 I said early on that this time around I am edu...

    I had to come on here and comment… thank you Greg!!! On first things first for standing up for the Packers and ARod. I know Aaron hasn’t been perfect, but the amount of hate he’s getting when they’re trying to figure things out… is bananas. We wish you were still on the field! Love when it’s your week at Fox and you’re on all the shows.. your input is priceless. Hoping for some workout videos soon Greg!

    G, it's your boy LC again! Great start with lat extensibility. When you go into that pose you extend through your low back instead of your thoracic spine, working t-spine extension and rotation may help as well as some scapular mobility to reduce that impingement you get with abduction.. Holler at me, that is my profession!

    Do you find that your plates seem to weigh more than they actually are? I have the G12 and when I use plates for tricep pull downs for instance I can put the pin on 20lbs but it feels like I’m pulling 35-40lbs

    • @wideopen1320
      @wideopen1320 2 роки тому

      On the G6 I don’t find that to be the case when using the weight stack. However, the smith machine is definitely heavier than the ones I use in the gym(s)

    I purchased French Fitness FSR80 and it is a night mare machine. If space is not a issue, I will recommended buying functional trainer and smith machine separately (from Titan Fitness). If any of you have any thoughts, please share. Thank you

    Trying to decide between the g6 and the g9. How much do you value the weight stack, since I'd have to buy the plates for the smith machine anyway?

    • @wideopen1320
      @wideopen1320 2 роки тому

      The weight stack is definitely a plus with it being so easy to adjust weight pending your exercise choice.

      I’ve also been told that the plate-loaded cables get very shaky and not smooth once you get close to 75-100 pounds
