Unfortunately for me my attention span is fcked, VN and LN mediums is hard for me to get into and english being my third language also makes it worse. I watched somebody summarize the entire series just for me to have some closure with this series, overall pretty entertaining title its why im here

While im not well versed in science an such. From the expanse of lore we do know. They were made to fulfill a purpose and such. The things that made them as well are capable of wayy more outlandish things too. But from a believable standpoint i personally think they are realistic. And as far as we know there isnt any biological things in the same sense of what we know. The BETA dont "eat" for one thing,they run on stuff akin to wireless electrical energy (not accurate but best metaphor i can think up atm) But also its anime ,suspension of belief is also a integral factor ahah. Would be interesting to explore your point using real science though in a video. -G

@@michaelbarnard8529 tanks have ERA ,going lighter isnt akways better,protection matters too (or coolness lol) see the IJA Type90 as the most notable in media. Plus there is SPAA ,IFVs etc. Speedy vehicles however even with 120mm and up would not be able to solo the BETA at all even with the support available. For example 1 grappler would require a 3:1 ratio minimum assuming destroyer class have been dealt with to even open a gap to use vehicles. And as you've seen,the 3D movement is key. Because of the numbers and abilities. Doesnt mean hard ground elements arent required but as seen from the BETAs inception to the status quo,TSFs are indispensible without tremendous loss of life. But yes the enemies were made for mechs 😅 -G

In regards to human conflict, there is a lot of it, infighting and all. You might like the unlimited timeline (covered mostly in the unfinished VN series called "The Day After" set before Alternative. Where the war with the BETA is still the backdrop but there is loads more human-on-human conflict. (And stuff i didn't even expect to see which is kinda funny) In addition to Total Eclipses (vn and anime versions) conflicts with other factions and such. IMO Muv Luv is a series where almost anyone could potentially hop on and enjoy their niche despite the whole story direction. Additionally, when some projects are done you could see a rise in that avenue. -G

Muv Luv's bread and butter is the war as a backdrop, with human relationships, conflict, etc at the forefront. at least from what I've heard and seen. i do agree we need more on the war itself, but I think that would exhaust pretty fast. the BETA are unique and such but combatting them is kind of simple, so what else could you show? I'd however would love to see more equipment, vehicles, etc, and other countries in their struggles might be a good additional war avenue. Although we are missing a lot of pivotal battles..from TSFIA to the point a lot of exposition we do is improvised with what little we know or have been to find or get advised on. i.e operation palaiologos. and as a side note, there is some stuff in the works where you might get exactly what you want there. dunno if this ramble helps in anyway,but thank you for the comment! -G

@@thealternativeproject I've watched most of the anime. The problem I have is that the first half is small skirmishes and they're always building up the tension for a huge BETA offensive that is set to wipe everyone out. Then, just as that would be taking place half the mechs start blowing each other up because some General disagrees with some politician. It always seems like the strangest of timing. It's like "Guys, you have bigger problems right now. How about you hold off killing those three people until you've save the entire nation? No, nope, okay have at it. Oh, would you look at that. You lost the war..."

Sadly the Anime (premise for it mostly) but as well S1 ,left alot of new people just out of the loop if you dont play the trilogy an such. Which is ashame because it adds to reasons why people will drop the anime. Glad we could help! -G

Well the culmination of factors are pretty sound. As for those you mentioned they would run out of stamina and energy dealing with 100s of BETA at any given point. arguably they are just slightly more law-defying unarmoured mechanized infantry. That are more susceptible to human limits. (see various Muv Luv articles an such on mechanised infantry) Would be interesting to see how aLightsabre could even cope against something that isn't over 2 by 3 meters and one slash won't just annoy the BETA being attacked though lol. -G

@@BoxxyFan energy to do what? 😅😅 lightning or using the 'force' to blow any large amounts of BETA away (if they could even do that period) To which starwars media has shown on an large scale jedi and the force arnt really able to do much even with plot armour. Imo notably Order 66,zillo beast in clone wars, and other stuff i cant quite remember showed that. Unlimited power through one person fighting something that knows no fear ,has numbers and is very much larger and resilient to even kinetic forces would simply trample over or eat a force user. Its like saying a natural disaster such as tornados,storms volcanoes etc could stop the BETA (which is not the case especially since earths whole ecosystem is screwed so bad weather events do intensify an such to my knowledge) And again ,human limits. Even if we could say jedi has merit ,and armed forces support. Their sword would be ineffective (most BETA bodies are dense hence why 36mm cant one shot anything above tank class) Fancy sword would only be able to kill 3-6 beta every 5 minutes or longer.(this is generous from me even,itd take longer) 10-20,000 BETA would stomp by all logic. I would also pose this onto reddit or something though for different povs. -G

That is..quite a question, one we could cover one day on 'what IFs' but until we sort stuff out. All I can myself is say that,in the end,the BETA are pretty strong. Arguably creative in a lot of ways. In addition whats on earth is the tip of the iceberg. So with Cybertron and such we can assume a high tech level species has a lot of combat and war abilities. So we could in turn also assume that the BETA would up their level of aggression. (see exolarity for more or less what this means) But that being said the BETA have numbers,which would dwarf cybertron,and including the laser class alone which kills TSFs which are kinda similar to transformers in terms of the basics. but ya IMO ,however I myself am not too well informed on transformers. -G

Conveniently enough, KMFs are designed to deal with conventional machines of war, direct counter to armor and stuff. I would imagine that they would be unexpectedly effective against TSFs as the Tactical Surface Fighters are based off standard doctrine modified against BETA. That said, the BETA would most certainly be an issue, as KMFs don't have the same amount of hovering mobility as the TSFs do, until later generations at least, which introduce hover units. Besides that, KMFs are ridiculously small targets in comparison, I'm pretty sure a Glasgow only comes up to half a TSF's leg. One could just latch on with Slash Harkens and shoot safely while the TSF has to try and shake it off. One of the uses for these is grappling hooks after all. Quite literally, KMFs are very angry bees in this case. The issue is getting through a TSF's armor.

@@thealternativeproject a lot of other properties are guilty of this, but one of my biggest gripes is the "8 minutes of death" thing, you'd think after several decades, that if someone bothered to look into pilot deaths to find the correlation they'd notice how many died after 8 minutes, and you'd think military brass would train that idea out of their soldiers if it got so many killed. Another is the development of the TSF, if you build a machine, standardizing it, then somehow everyone you stick in it has an issue with the machine... it's not pilot error, that's a designer incompetence issue.

"The 'Eight Minutes of Death' is referred to in the same manner as the Twenty-Minuters of the First World War. Tactical Surface Fighters are cutting edge equipment, and while training against other humans and simulated training is provided, these are a poor substitute for actual combat conditions. Just as in the First World War many pilots were risking their lives piloting their aircraft in battle and with unknown variables a constant factor, TSF combat has its own unique challenges both doctrinal and individual. Indeed, many pilots could excel in the simulations only to crumble under actual battlefield conditions. @@thealternativeproject my problem with the "eight minutes of death" isn't that it's a military superstition that exists, but that it's a superstition that PERSISTS. the fact that it has been brought up in multiple installments is my issue, military superstitions don't really persist for several decades. military superstitions tend to spread from grunts to other grunts, rumors or hearsay with some basis in reality, also a lot of superstitions are trained out of soldiers before they hit the frontlines(especially of said superstition is detrimental 9 times out of 10). I guess my issue is that it's the only notable superstition, while it would make more sense that more positive or harmless ones would more likely persist. also the idea that veteran pilots would spread it is kinda dumb, "ah yes, let's get fledgling fellow pilots killed so there'll be less of us, and pray that the ones who died didn't have good potential". on the point of tsf design, yeah that makes sense, to a certain extent it is designer incompetence, but also a hint of trial by fire(or more accurately the lack of it)..
