I enjoy looking back into the daily thoughts and conversations among soldiers during a war.

Actually the narration is quite comical at times.

If this is not AI then your narrator is not fluent in English.

It always amazed me that some of the most senior officers in Japan all warned about getting into a war with the US and that it would ultimately fail in the long run- and were correct. And its a shame that many, MANY men died on both sides as a result of not taking that advice seriously.

This is messed up. For the first 22 minutes, the fliers are in China, after their mission. Then, around 22:30, the fliers are launching off the air craft carrier to start their mission.

I found it actually interesting, definitely not about combat but these are the strange things you would experience halfway around the world. Id invite anyone to actually google an image of a few of these islands, beautiful places, im sure they are now modernized and lost their oldschool charm.

It is almost shocking to think that in the middle of a terrible war, with men dying horribly every day, a man's letter to his own wife could put him into legal troubles simply due to their private descriptions of their own normal bedroom activities, no matter how graphic.

The photo is the USS Yorktown, taken in July 1937. These ships in white were beautiful.

One of my great experiences was getting to meet and hear Henry Potter, the navigator on Doolittle's plane 1 speak at out Rotary Club. Then later to spend about an hour on the phone with him as he recounted more of the raid. In the phone call, I was attempting to invite him back to speak again. Sadly, he became ill some days later and passed away. The greatest generation.

This is just an excellent narration. Listening on my PC, I could follow in maps found through the Googlator.

What's with the bounce - the repetition of the first two words at the beginning of each video lately ?

The commanders were quite bold, and so quite some losses !

The voiceover sounded like a real person most of the time, but there were some glitches that marked it as AI. Nonetheless, an enjoyable presentation.

It is decades since I saw it but I think Van Johnson played the 'narrator' in the film 30 seconds Over Tokyo

My next door neighbor when I was a kid was a retired guy named Tom Varnado. He was already in the Navy when pearl harbor was attacked and was on the Hornet when Doolittle launched this raid on Tokyo. He was a really nice man, originally from Bogalusa, Louisiana. Used to come over and watch Victory At Sea with my dad.

There was a rumor that the japanese military were happy to die for the emperor...American Armed Forces put in a lot of time and effort keeping them happy.

He was reputedly Japan's Nelson and may have been more logical and debcisive than Nagumo who should have left attacking Midway to the next day and concentrated on US Ships, did not have to rearm planes as US Carriers same as Japs (unlike Royal Navy did not have Armoured Decks, after Midway Japs built Taiho with an armoured deck and US after Essex's were finished designed theirs with Armoured Decks, when Taiho was torpedoed the fuel lines were fractured and filled ship with inflamable fumes, a spark set off an explosion and cos of armoured deck it was directed down blew out bottom of ship and sank minutes) had wooden decks
