can i use watercolor paper with gouache?
Yes! That’s what I did here. 😄👍
@@keilamarciel ok, thankyuu!!
that is longer than 15 seconds?
This isn’t a “listing video.” Etsy allows you to put a short video in the “About” section of your shop. Kind of like a preview of everything you sell and a chance to tell your customers a bit about yourself behind the scenes. So that’s what this video is an example of. It can be a few minutes long. 😊👍
Wow I love how you painted the flowers ❤
Aww thank you! I’m really happy with how this piece turned out. 😇
@@keilamarciel yes keep your the amazing work :)
hi i really love how "messy" the paper edge looks. how did you tear it?
@@lizn160 Thanks, I love that look too! Hopefully I can describe this well… you’ll need a T-shaped ruler. Lay it across a large piece of paper with the top of the T on the tables edge. Hold the flat (usually metal) part of the ruler down against the table firmly as you tear the paper for a straight edge. Hope this helps!! 🫡
Great vid. I guess Disney wouldnt let you in with the invisible selfie stick would they?
Yeah, no telescopic sticks at Disney 😭 I used my Manfrotto mini tripod instead. Thanks for watching!
@@keilamarciel I'm going to Japan in Sept and was looking at the 4X but was scared Disney footage would be a lil rubbish if I didn't have a good stick. Thankfully your video looks great so my fears are gone. I forgot the subscribe lol. SUBBED.
@@Princescyther Awww 🎉 Thanks so much for subscribing! I have a few videos on here from our trip to Tokyo Disney if you’re interested 😋 It was before I had the 360 camera tho. One word of warning about the 360 footage is just keep it on the memory card you have and get a new memory card when you need one. I had footage from a trip to Alaska that I lost because I thought I saved the 360 files to my pc but I saved the wrong format and cleared the memory card. It was devastating. Plus if you keep it on the card you can always go back to it and reframe the 360 clips for different footage/angles. Hope this tip helps!
Did you encounter any overheating yet?
Oh! Actually, no I haven’t. I didn’t even realize that was a thing that was happening with these. I usually take it out for a few shots at a time. Are you vlogging with it?
Genius worked like a charm x
Yayyy!! Glad it helped! I know it can be so frustrating to deal with that error.
Nice ❤ i have x3 as well im a busy lady until now im not too expert on using it love to take videos and pictures on all my travel ,have a nice day and enjoy using your x3 and give some tips here on your vlog
Sorry for the late response! Thanks for watching! 😄 I’ve definitely had to learn a lot with this camera but it’s a fun tool to have, especially when traveling.👌 Editing can be tricky and I have lost some of my 360 files when I thought I had them saved… but we learn as we go.
Hi, thanks for this. It was very helpful. Did your handheld tripod not show up in your footage? Or did you edit it out? I’m planning to use a similar tripod at Disney so just curious.
Awww yeah, I realized after uploading I forgot to add the clip 🫣😅 But I used the Manfrotto Pixi Mini and was happy with the results.
I believe bristol paper is similar to "kent" paper which I think is used in Japan for paintings that will be scanned for animation films or anime
Oh that's cool! Thanks for sharing! I'm gonna look into that kent paper. Honestly, looking back now the bristol did hold up pretty well. I still have this piece almost 6 years later 😅
I like the Arteza one way better. It’s punchy and saturated. The WN one looks dull, almost faded.
Yeah! Isn’t it crazy what a difference there is?! I know some people like to go for those muted tones in their work, so they’d probably like the WN. I have found that Arteza gouache is super vibrant, I love it.
I was thinking on get this camera
There’s definitely a learning curve. It can be tricky editing. But it’s a fun tool to get some unique shots 👏
Thank you for your input. I can't wait to try this camrea out more.
I missed it what kind of paper do you use?
You painted the W&N with a larger brush and more careful strokes…. Also, you didn’t make an effort to mix the same colors. That could have been achieved. Biased, unfair review/comparison.
Hmmm interesting reaction... I'm not telling people to buy one over the other though. I think BOTH are great options. I made the video to really show how well Arteza gouache holds up against a much pricier brand. I think I mixed the colors pretty well considering I only had primary colors in the W&N. Also, I used the same TWO brushes for both paintings. Thanks for watching... but doesn't seem like you were paying much attention lol. 😅
Perhaps it was unconscious because it was a reflex to be more careful with the expensive supplies
cool video
Thanks for watching! 😄 Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much for that video!
Glad it helped! 👍👍
Are the Arteza available open stock? If you run out of a most used colour and you need to buy a full set to replace it, that can work out very expensive.
Sadly no. They only offer their paints in sets of 12 or more. That’s why I mostly recommend them for people just starting out with gouache to see if it’s something they like.
What is that storage thing in the beginning i need 10 of them
I’ve been trying to remember where I got that thing 😅 I think it was from Michael’s, like 8 years ago at least. I just looked on Amazon and they have things that are similar: amzn.to/3SeKDFB
Thank you for showing the water test
Glad it could help! 😄👍
I love this review. It gave me some great information. I paint awards in the Society for Creative Anachronism using gouache paints, and we're always on the lookout for good paints for our beginners. Generally, most of the painters I know try more for recreating the look of medieval manuscripts, which is why many go for the more professional grade paints like Windsor Newton. How lightfast would you say the Arteza paints are? If they don't tend to fade, these would be a great alternative for beginners on a budget.
Wow! That's so awesome to hear! Thanks for watching, I'm glad it could help in some way! The Arteza paints are definitely not archival... But I can say that I have had some of my paintings framed on my wall for over 5 years with no fading from the FL sun and they are right next to photos I printed with my Canon printer that do show some fading.
In my area we have a lot more and better option for artist grade non-Asian made gouche brands that are half or third price of the hell expensive W&N: Renesans, Umton, Saint Petersburg and my favorite PANNONCOLOR Made in Budapest, HU. I have a nice collection of W&N gouache paints, they are fantastic but no way they are (much) better than these brands. If you happen to visit these countries i highly recommend to buy gouache from local stores here.
Thanks so much for letting us all know about these brands! I actually have not heard of any of those, but next time I'm abroad I will definitely be keeping my eye out for them! 👍👍
I sooo loved your review. I bought Arteza. I bought the arteza “ tackle box” and didn’t like all of the fluorescent colors. I then bought the portrait set of 12 and these mixed very well to give me a better range of acceptable colors.
That’s a great hack! Thanks for sharing! I just recently got some of Artezas sets of 12 tubes, including that one! Can’t wait to try them out! 😄👍
so, the cricut calibrates correctly and it can read the sensor marks when I put the laminate sheet on the sticker paper because the laminate isn't on the marks directly but when it cuts it, it cuts COMPLETELY off! I don't know what to do anymore its so frustrating
I’ve had this happen recently… Make sure your Cricut Design Space software is updated to the latest version. That helped me, hope it works for you too! 🤞🤞🤞
Thank you! I’ll try that too 🙂
This was so helpful & easy to follow! Thank you so much!
I’m so glad you found it helpful! Thank you for watching ☺️
The W&N painting looks better because the colors are more cohesive, which is one of main benefits of using limited palettes I think. Arteza sets come with so many colors, and beginners will tend to use paint straight from the tube
Agreed. I recommend the Arteza set for beginners to help them kind of choose a palette that works for them. Also to make sure they enjoy working with gouache before investing in a more expensive set of tubes. But I definitely see what you’re saying. Good point. 👍👍
What’s the best gouache for a beginner?
In my opinion, the 24 tube Arteza set is perfect for beginners. The price is really fair for how many color options you get.
@@keilamarciel awesome, I have it! Thank u!
Love the art! Arteza is great however they don't have a good primary magenta in any set so if youre gonna go with arteza buy a tube of artist magenta to get better mixes for purples and oranges. Also arteza ia a lot of multi pigment mixes which can mix muddier colours and obviously they wont be as lightfast.
Great point about the magenta! I hadn’t really noticed how muddy my purples were with Arteza until I broke out my W&N gouache set again to compare them 😅 This is really good information, thanks so much for sharing!
the "rose" color for Arteza gouache is pretty much the "primary magenta" in the sets. Mix it with Ultramarine blue and you get a good purple. you don't need to get a magenta from another brand since Rose is pretty much that color
@@TRANSSENTIENT except it's not. the rose from arteza contains multiple pigments and when mixed with yellows and blues lead to muddy and muted colours. theres not a true pv19 in the entire set which is a standard mixing magenta. trust me i've tried the arteza rose for mixing and it's not good for clear mixes. the closest colour in the set would be peach red but its extremely transparent and fugitive. rose would most closely resemble a pr122 paint, but the pv23 thats included leads to the mixes being more muddy. a true primary magenta is literally the only colour i ever found missing other than that their sets are pretty decent and i enjoy some of their unique tube mixes
@@discretelyobvious pr122 Quinacridone Magenta is typically the standard for magenta, while pv19 is the standard for rose or violet (there are some exceptions). Tbf none of the colors in arteza gouache are good for clear mixes, since most of the colors are made with two or more pigments. What I’m trying to say in my previous comment is that the rose color in arteza is closer to a magenta from W&N, Holbein or Schmincke, most professional pr122 magentas, than any other color in the set, that’s all
So smooth! I feel like I am there 😍
Awww thank you so much for watching Becca! 💕 Yeah, I really wanted some footage to feel like you’re in the park so this camera worked out perfectly for that! 🥰
They don’t allow extension selfie sticks at Disney parks how do you made it?
@@Liamortz I had to use my Manfrotto handheld tripod and just hold it out as far as I could 😅

Nice video, liked your choice of image. That looks like the takoyaki signs! Mmm takoyaki.
Yes! The takoyaki was so good and kept us warm during our trip in the cold winter LOL! Thanks so much for watching! 🥰
What set of arteza gouache do you recommend
I started with the set of 24 tubes which lasted me a while. Later I got the larger pack but didn't really use a lot of the colors. So I would recommend the 24 pack: amzn.to/3zmPJoJ
@@keilamarciel Thanks 😊
👍👍👍😎
Hsve you tried laminating with matte laminating paper?
I have! But I still got the error, so that's why ultimately the tape was the best option for me. Have you had different results with the matte paper?
Amazing keila
Awww thank you so much! 😊
