kind of wild that this dish has no asian ingredients! One could easily pass this off as a Western dish. Although, I think at restaurants, they infuse wok hei into the fried rice.

I've never understood why this dish is so popular in HK. It's got a ton of cheese and dairy, but more than half the HK population is lactose intolerant. It's also the only popular HK dish with cheese, which makes it very popular with Europeans...

I'm surprised he assumed that you were Muslim. The majority of Lebanese in the Western world are Christians who fled the country following the Israeli invasion and civil war in the 1980s. When I meet a Lebanese person, I just assume they're Christian unless they prove otherwise. Obviously, if I'm ordering food, I will ask if they keep Halal or not.

The white rabbit candy is made by a factory in Shanghai. It is one of the most well known brand in China when I was a kid (born in the 60's). Not too many brands from more than 50 years ago survived until now.
