    Are there mangoes growing and sold at the fruit markets? How about dragon fruit, papayas, cherimoyas ? I am asking because all of these grow in southern coastal Turkey and since Crete is even fruther south, they should be able to to grow there.

    Hi! I used Mulberry trees in my Arizona backyard for shade. They are either from grafted or cuttings. Wish I would have grown them from seed straight in the ground and then grafted. I also follow a WFPB diet with no alcohol 👍

    • @growingwithnatureofficial
      @growingwithnatureofficial Місяць тому

      Good to hear the mulberry trees are working over there too. Mulberry grows well from cutting, but growing from seed doesn't take as long as people think and it's a rewarding feeling. It looks like we have a lot in common when it comes to diet and lifestyle Justin. You set a great example to the younger generation. Keep up the good work!

    Hi Luke; love how the orchid is growing wild and untamed. So... a problem with deer eh? Looks like someone needs a Forchid around their orchard too!! Good gardening and look forward to the next food forest update

      Thanks Avian, I don't think I'll be building a full-on Forchid for the deer just yet, but maybe if they start inviting all their friends!

    Hello food forest looking great!! Did you get berry bushes and trees all as bare root? Also how did you direct sow your seeds just place them barely in the woodchips? And do you water the seeds?

    • @growingwithnatureofficial
      @growingwithnatureofficial 2 місяці тому

      Yes, I got all my trees bare root. Most of the bushes where plants from pots. I have a free guide on all the details of starting a Food Forest on my website growingofficial.com. Hope this helps!

      It's easy to germinate jackfruit seeds but still needs lots of patience for it to bear fruits🥹 get some cuttings from the matured tree and do some grafting instead Luke! 😉

    Hi Luke, just found your channel (starting with this video) and intend on watching a lot more of your content. Just love your enthusiasm and positivity, to say nothing of your lush green and growing garden. Not long got my plot of land and started my orchard about seven months ago (mid-late spring in Aus); but what shits me about videos like yours (in the UK) and ones like the Kiwi Grower (check him out - your positivity, passion and knowledge are very similar) is that you don't have bastard animals like kangaroos and rosellas doing their best to destroy what you achieve. Roos are so destructive. My orchard (so far) is a little over a quarter of an acre (60 different fruit trees and bushes); the lengths i've gone to safeguard it for future years was huge. Had to put a pallet fence around it two high (which actually looks pretty good) just to keep out the roos, with a plan to put a huge net across the entire structure to hold back the rosellas. I now call it the Fortchid! All the best and look forward to checking out more of your videos (do 6months & 1year updates on your orchard, everyone will want to see your progress and growth); happy growing!

      @growingwithnatureofficial 4 місяці тому

      Thanks for the support and feedback Avian. It sounds like an awesome place you have there. Must be a healthy ecosystem with so much wildlife. In this case, a Fortchid may be the only way!
