so i live in WA state and there are no current postcard shows.... with your website and shows list um i am not sure how to facilitate this but like lets say there is a postcard show in the midwest or wherever and lets say you or other fans or rather listeners are going to go to it and i cannot go but would like to buy some cards and since you or others are already going i could give a list or thing of cards i wanted to buy or collect and or just boxes or x amount of cards in the 50c pile or whatever many ways to do it but they could facetime or text or call or whatever and say hey there is this and that and i can decide oh yes i want this and that and the rest ill pass and then i could cashapp or paypal or whatever and add a fee for shipping and also a small premium for them doing it so they can have gas money and or a few bucks for stuff to buy and i can get some cards without any shows and the hobby grows and everyone is happy. i just know if i am willing to do that and many people are already going to it and i would but cannot go why not make an instant few dollars as the dealers selling them i could even send for the cost and or info to negotiate with them and send them the payment and then they mail it out or even give to person that then just picks up as i paid directly for them and then they ship it to me or whatever like i think i can even send them a screenshot of postage i already paid for and they just put in box pack it and tape it and then print out sheet then drop off at postoffice. so they are just picking up the item and dropping off at postoffice. not sure how to but if your website or are able to figure out a way others could pick up cards or buy them for others as i am pretty sure someone who watches you will be at every show that way i could technically go to every single postoffice show and buy what i collect and or want as we are all trapped by only going to local shows. if the shows themselves hire someone to go to every vender and take some photos and write up what they got and for what with phone number to call or text or email or whatever and that same person then picks up items packs and ships them out takes a fee and sellers get the rest so that they are making money and sellers are selling more stuff and i am able to get postcards i may never see being on the west coast and vis versa. like there is a way to do this and if you @mailseum have any thoughts or ideas or whatever on making it so i can have some way to not go yet still buy this or that even if its just random card amounts down to specific themes images kinds um you would change the game in postcard industry as if there are a million cards at a show and routinely they sell 100k every year at pick your show in any state but i and others could somehow buy this and that without ever going to the event or show im willing to bet that they would have a huge spike increase in the amounts sold from 100k to 300k especially if there are dealers that come to sell at show and want to leave with nothing so they price them in lots at end even if its only on last day of event and they sell to walk ups in person then the final day they can post to website what they got and for whatever price sorted or not chrome or undivided backs used or not. if i would buy then there has got to be many others that would buy this and that as im not special and to be honest i am not going to fly or drive to New York or Jersey or Ohio or even out west to Cali or Oregon to buy postcards yet there is already many people already going to go so i dont have too if i could somehow buy some stuff and have it mailed to me.. it will change the game in postcards. the great postcard boom of 2024 they would talk about in a hundred years like the gold rush of 1849. maybe someone could go to show ask every dealer for cosigner bulk stuff they want to pump and dump or just downsize or get rid of then they sell them off and take a cut for doing it and they could literally create a job selling lots of bulk postcards and not own a single postcard of their own they just selling others postcards for a fee or share of profits and they can make the money on direct organic go to show sales in person and then have a backup amount of money they also supplement income and they dont even have to ship or do anything besides give cosigner agent pics and cards that he then goes to hustle and sell.for sellers reserve price plus whatever fees and ship costs to then collect money ship out and give to dealers. like postcard groupies someone could go do a circuit of shows selling others postcards and making decent money.

My scanner broke, and I've been living doing this sale to sale right now with this crap economy in canada. I've gone back to using my phone camera but it is just not the same. I tried using a flatbed scanner again but the one I have is 30 seconds per side roughly so it's slow. I'm actually annoyed enough to not even list without my duplex scanner anymore. Starting to save very little off of each sale to get a small portable scanner just to get me back going and moving quickly through listings. I'd do alot of things I wouldn't be proud of for another duplex scanner right now.

EBay cut into your sale so much with fees and all the rest and then promoted listing fees makes the whole sale experience extremely disappointing and you are left feeling royally shafted. Who’s the crook ? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Quick question, I have been selling postcards on eBay for about a year. I have 1.2k active listings, and am allowed 250 listings a month. Is it worth buying the eBay basic store for $28 a month?

I love the feeling of first time glancing through a big haul. You are not green and you know what you are doing. I personally have never spent that much per card on a bulk lot that big, so I couldn't get real excited just from what little was breezed through. But, that doesn't mean anything, I am only sharing a little more grounded feeling because of the work it takes. I've never done that whatnot thing, buying or selling, but sounds like you will easily dump chunks of it to claw some investment money back quickly. I hope you film more of going through and processing them, so fun to watch.

Where is the best place to sell postcards?

It would be cool if you put together a quick reference laminated sheet that has all or the most important identifiers to look out for and offer them for purchase, similar to those coin collector reference sheets that you can buy at the book store.

Your estimate of roughly 30k cards seems about right. The buy price around 30 to 35 cents per card is fair to both parties. The TN dealer is able to unload everything at once and exit the business. You are set up well to maximize the collection by selling the better state views and other cards you like at the maximum value over time and sell the rest of the collection on your new WN outlet to others. By the way, I was the one who mentioned interest in the QSL/Ham radio cards. If you put a bunch together I'll buy them even though those appear to be newer the I normally like. I keep an eye out for a lot on WN...

I kind of had the same experience, and bought a lot of ~20k postcards last month via FB, but I only paid $900CAD! Though you have much much better cards. To my surprise, 80% of the cards came in pretty much brand new sleeves!

Daniel, I think from what I see so for that if the 46 boxes were all about the same volume of what you went through and consider the extra room the rigid sleeve are taking up, I would say 600 cards per box not counting the albums. That total would be 27,600 postcards. If you sold 3000 postcards at $5.00 each you would have $15,000.00. Easily not a bad investment on your money. Good luck, see you on whatnot.

Especially if you are not counting the album item quantity in that calculation. A lot of those Santas would be worth your time and effort to list yourself. But obviously someone will be super happy to get the Santa lot on WN. Happy for you!
