20 Dollars seems like a fair price for the German postcard. Maybe could have gotten a little more because its very unique but street scenes like this sell for around this price in germany ... so i think you did a good job pricing it :) Especially considering that the buyer will have other expenses aswell.
There is definitely a "Race to the Bottom" in the postcard market right now. So frustrating! Also, related to Fred Harvey, I have recently encountered a couple of Fred Harvey Restaurant cards. I didn't know those were a thing.

Did the German postcards sell to Germany or to the US? I can't afford to set up the legal stuff to fulfil the German LUCID packaging laws, so I can't sell to Germany, and am wondering if it is worth listing German postcards at all if there is no market for German cards outside of Germany.
They sold to Germany, eBay has said if we use eBay International Shipping to Germany they handle compliance for us at the hub. I do not ship directly to Germany.
That town was heavily bomb we in the war basically nothing left and the place where historic items like pictures and so forth are kept like Germanys Smithsonian or whatever was also listed and burnt down in the war as jt supposedly was a town that was producing weapons and or ammunition so that’s the humanitarian story that we told the public for why it was literally wiped off the map. Who knows if it’s true or not the but since their historic place that had most of the national historic items and genealogy and history and all that stuff also was obliterated street views of what it once looked like especially with businesses are few and far between. German scholars teachers historians or family of those business will pay a pretty penny for images of certain towns as they simply don’t exist Prior to the ww2. You have to reverse research towns in Germany that were destroyed in the war basically finding pics of rubble as they would mention the towns name as prior to reconstruction is mostly unknown but also might have the new name as Germany doesn’t like the ideal that there was a decisive victory so down playing the damage gives them the ability to say we almost won if we just had a little more effort or financial support or more patriotism or support or ammunition or whatever kinda like the US government creating tsa after 911 or having more power over citizens with patriot act We could have prevented it. Anyways I don’t sell postcards but I’m guessing it could have sold for a few hundred if not into the 1000s. If your great grandma owned a business that was was vaporized in a war and they died in the war and poor grandma who was only 4 years old survived cuz they just happen to be with other relatives and then you were born and found out that was great. Grammas storefront in the town they don’t remember ever being how much would you pay for it? But that is a small Market. Id say you could have gotten $200 easily from historian or teacher person and a family member any price you named really as they would have to have it buy it. If you shipped it internationally outside of Germany without a doubt a reseller bought it to sell for large profit. It’s not just Germany that was destroyed in the war germanys allies also will buy old street views of towns destroyed in the war as well.
@@mailseum so I have a crazy idea/suggestion/proposition for you. So basically I see you as an expert. You would probably say no but nevertheless I have a small collection of postcards and thinking of maybe selling some of them or just wanna share them with someone or whatever I’m not sure just would like a bump it or dump ityea or nay the good bad and the ugly second opinion but I know time is money and no one has time these days because there’s not enough time in a day however I would like to share with you by sending some pictures of some of my postcards and I’m not asking you to price them but if you could maybe pretend that i am an antique shop then price them but not really price them? Like give them the once over and sort them like theses ones I Would buy the others are rinks dink very common dime a dozen not worth allot and you wouldn’t even buy them for .25 cent and waste the time posting then with the ones you would buy/get divide those into several categories like bread and butter I’d buy and post these ones all day for a dollar or less they are $10-25ish dollar range Cards then here are he mid range ones that should sell for decent price $30 up to $60-70 dollars or whatever and then the high dollar cards expected to bring 75 and and up with a maybe a grand slam hundreds of dollar ones. So categorize them based off value of what you know then organize them expected sell through rate of what you already know based off your judgement like these ones will probably sell at some point maybe 3 years maybe 4 months who knows maybe those can be the initial I’d buy these ones cards so there’s nothing you got to do or say really but then give a plus to ones you feel confident will sell faster. Anyways I’d be willing to pay you to kind of go through some of my postcards tell me which ones are in a ballpark so I can focus on the very best ones that should sell for the highest dollars and the fastest so I can learn and develop my ehe but also I can focus on listing those first and I would of course take your advice get an idea then go and do my research to get a better more accurate price as you do in your hoe to vids and I can stop purchasing cards that aren’t ideal or not waste hours researching pricing listing junk dime a dozen .99 cent cards or 4 dollar cards when I have the instant sell over a hundred dollars but they just happen to be at the bottom of tbr stack and passing up the creme de la crème to buy the cards in front and behind that I can’t even give away for free like basically not even worth sending in the mail to someone because the stamp is worth more

Great information, thank you! It did sell to Germany so I think it is going to a collector.
