    For the sliding eye on the nedrig: You could put a splitring on.

    How does that work if the state you reside in only allow one hook?

    Nice job. I am have been wondering why the box store brands don't offer this push style. I think the push design is better than the ability to tip to vertical split.

    Great mods! May use a couple. ;o) What do you think the tongue weight changed to once you added the log lift (beauty, btw)?

      Tongue weight is a little heavier but still manageable by hand…

    Had the same idea.only problem was I don't have a splitter. But keep looking at the county line splitter from tractor supply store. And it looked like it can be converted into a push thru splitter really easy. And be modified with a log lift and change out the hydraulic value and pump to do more. I'm glad some actually did it. Thanks for the video.

    You might search for Ganged Hooks l moved from UK to Australia many years ago and this method was never used in UK but very popular there. Mainly for rigging Pilchards but also small 3 or 4 ganged hooks for Whitbait but has application for soft Plastics. You can revese the Hooks one up one down one ot two on thein the bait the other to hook or hookd up to hook the fish. Tight Lines !

      Try a "Hitch Hiker" screw lock on one end in place of the second hook. Will keep you legal and allow you to try this type of rig. Good luck.

    Hi from Australia! Just wanted to let you know this works on aussie black bream where the finesse zman 2.5” grub is the usual go to. I had to use the 4” gulp turtleback worm with 1/16 jig head as I couldn’t easily find 4” curl or ribbon tail plastic worms here. The gulp rips too easy though so I have some plastic curl tails being shipped. If you can find or make a curl/ribbon tail version of your bass worms and hook the bottom hook just before the ribbon tail, you can get an action close to the original S curl in the Japanese “craft” version. It definitely worked better than the standard rigged gulp worm for me, so I can’t wait to try it with some more durable plastics. Anyways, thanks for the idea. It’s simple yet not many people thought to do it. Cheers!

      @danielmanko4230 2 роки тому

      Thanks Glad it works well for you and thanks for the tip on the ribbontail, I will definitely try it as it sounds like a great way to get extreme action…

    I see this rig with a bobber on it, the waves would Auto wiggle the worm. Also maybe a nice swim bait with a heavy tail. Could you add a weight to the head a little, to present it on the bottom somehow? Fishing opens in about a month can't wait to try my new DC baitcast with this rig.

    I would need to figure out how to make this weedless everywhere I fish is lilly pads and alot of under water grass and structure. If I have open hooks it'll just waste equipment.

    Very impressive! Thank you for the great ideas on how to upgrade a cheaper splitter so that it will perform like a commercial small splitter! I need a smaller one to pull behind my side by side! And a four way wedge is so much faster than a single split ! Good job!

    Is there a big lag or dead spot during the hookset from the top hook? I'd have to figure out how to do a weedless version due to hydrilla and heavy wood cover. But I like this idea

    • @danielmanko4230
      @danielmanko4230 2 роки тому

      You could do weedless by leaving the hook point inside the worm, the lag is minimal, hook up ratio is very high.

  • @ricksonora6656

    This forms a C whereas the inurig forms an S. A C may be better for thick, stiff worms or for short worms. You could restore the S action just by putting the bottom hook in the middle. If having a tail hook is important, make the middle and bottom hooks fixed while the top hook slides. These variations are useful because you want greater action during summer and subtler action in winter. You could also make it snagless by burying the hook points in the worm.

    • @ricksonora6656
      @ricksonora6656 2 роки тому

      Maybe the use of planned variants will become the Sonora Method. LOL

    How difficult Is it to set the hook if the fish bites the top hook?

    • @danielmanko4230
      @danielmanko4230 2 роки тому

      Most every time the fish will get hooked twice because the top hook will slide down to the bottom hook.

  • @theultimatesteelshooter8610
    @theultimatesteelshooter8610 2 роки тому

    While i agree this is much easy to rig it most definitely does NOT have the same action, Put the two rigs side by side and you’ll see the actions are quite different …
