The saddest episode of MotoWorld I’ve ever seen. I’m just glad Bubba Shobert survived that crash at Laguna Seca in the end. 1989 was also the beginning of the end of supercrosser Rick Johnson’s career as well.

1993 Charlotte was my first ever supercross event when I was 9yrs old. Will forever cherish those memories with Dad, and got to witness the legend in the making Jeremy McGrath. My dad was able to get one of Jeff Emig's Riding gloves during the podium celebration. Lost my Dad in January 2023 and this was nice to see this all these years later.

When gloves actually provided some protection. This was my best era as a rider and i miss the 2 smokes!

We had to wait ALL YEAR for this one race, the only MX race on TV. Then I got the chance to attend the race in 1979, visiting CA from back east. What a treat!

Probably the most interesting SX race of all time. You see about the 40 min. mark, Lunnis and McCarthy (Bradshaw's mechanic and team manager), are screaming at him. Then Bradshaw begins to slow. It seems he was like "FU" like you would any time your boss is screaming at you. This race was the major turning point in his career as he quits the next season and would never really run at the front of SX ever again. He lost his heart to compete for Yamaha.

NESC always had a great pro class the list just goes on Waddinton,Keller,McCann, And Mayo, Scott these guys never disappoint

Anyone who loves MX/SX or any motorsport for that matter has to love this ((1 and only)(unbelievably)) Larry "Bigbird" Ward win. He was very often the second best guy on the night or the year for that matter. Legend. Si, Christchurch, NZ

the announcer voice dropping pitch at the end of each sentence. so consistent it sounds like AI lol. wish this had the classic SX/MX announcers

The announcers are always talking about some guy breathing down another guy's neck or someone goin' down in the corner or someone's comin' on Strong or another guy is in a Honda sandwich or someone's got a bunch of guy's behind him comin' fast..I mean, what is going on out there?

I will believe Cleveland is serious about hosting a Supercross if they ever had one in a newer Venue. Cleveland Municipal Stadium was closed later that year (1995), and Demolished in '96/'97

I vividly remember the 1989 Atlanta Supercross like it was yesterday. Cooper was whipping that bike over the triples like he was 10 feet tall and bulletproof.

Its crazy how far the quality of video and camera footage has evolved? These were the best cameras money could buy for TOP NETWORKS in 84' costing 10s and 10s of thousands of dollars and that footage pales in comparison to something anybody can film on their new "i phone"!! Im 54 maybe im just old? Anyway, good times 84! Vaurnets and goody combs! You know....

I feel sorry for everybody who takes their time to write a comment for others to see (and maybe a conversation), only to have some jerk delete all of what came out of our brains to share. Not right, it's wrong. It's wrong!

Remake of a old song from Lilly Tomlin, slightly modified: "Those were the days my friend. We thought they'd never end. We wrenched and rode forever and a day. We lived the lives we choose.
