I was ten years old in the Pontiac area when that dome was being built in 74, and I remember the story about the air pressure used to hold the fabric roof up. "You can put on roller skates, stand outside in front of a door facing out, hold your windbreaker open with your hands, (a common light nylon jacket in those days), and open the door. It will blow you across the parking lot!". (Kids). :) I have a lot of memories in that place for SX, and raced it one time. (not for me). Sad it got demolished.
I can't believe I outlived the Pontiac Silverdome. Went to the tiny Ford Field, (where the SX went after the silverdome was no longer used), the next year,--and never went to a SX again.
