can someone explain why at 28:24 Hicks doesn't take defensive fire? the moving aliens moved with 3 and the other within 4 of him. do you only get to do defensive fire once per alien turn? or is it once per moving aliens?

For all surprise attacks you don't draw a Voideeder attack card but instead should take a contamination card and resolve a panic card as per rules on page 5

I added a house rule for sentry guns. A character with access to a computer or the rear of the sentry gun (not in fire arc but adjacent) can make a tech roll to disable/enable a sentry gun as an action.

It must be hard to get such a complex rule set exactly right, so well done for tackling this one. Yes, you may have made rule errors, although I can't say that you have as I have only just started reading the rules, but it still gives a good foundation for learning. Well done sir.

I know this video is 2 years old and all other guides I’ve watched are also 2 years old( I’ve only just got the game ) but every video I’ve watched and there are many state the same as yourself “50 50 for aliens to break barriers “ where is this 50 50 rule because in the rule book it actually states to roll a 5 or more ? Not one video has played at 5 or more …. Am I missing something? Hope someone can clear this up .

So many wrong rules. Line of sight is not just black lines it is actual lines to line sight with the squares (check out rules and any other video for this game on you tube) . The Aliens would be hidden behind the boxes on the first turn. When you use continuous fire it is only for the stack of Aliens you are attacking you cannot then move onto another stack/model. To do that would be a 2nd action but you basically gave Ripley 3 actions. I came here hoping for some rule validation but stopped watching after so many rule blunders so quickly on the very first action and turn. The video itself was of fair quality and you have a nice manner and delivery but you need to make sure that you are more aware of the rules before you post them online.

Great review! I also enjoy this game--but, those alien swarms can be brutal! You can be on the brink of victory when a huge swarm demolishes your team! Also, I have been unsuccessful at adding the tails, so gave up--the Xenomorphs still look good without them.🙂

Imho, your assesment here is very thematic. The thousand sons list depicts the legion fighting in small war operations with their typical tactics rather well. It's the 40k army in Kill Team. The Warpcoven however represents a cabal of sorcerers doing Tzeentchian shenanigans (and having to be stopped by the "heroes"). Also the sons are cheaper one box of Rubrics being enough for a good team. According to your conclusions here, you'll want a box of Tzaangors and one of exalted sorcerers + possibly a box of rubrics for the Warpcoven.

Incredible job! Only having one squad of rubrics means I'll stick with the compendium for now.

Nice, thanks for posting this up! I am a bit disappointed with just how .. meh the tau are. In particular their barracuda are incredible fragile and very expensive.

I'm not saying this often but your voice and the way you talk is perfect for non-english native speakers to get into Kill Team and even I, as a beginner, could follow everything. I don't know what your future plans for upcoming videos are but it would be so tremendously helpful to everyone if you did those kind of "faction focus" videos where you analyze strength & weaknesses of different kill teams.

Occult talisman would be useful to take against Grey Knights too. Not many psykers in Kill Team tho so very situational

I was recently wondering about exactly this. My TSons are basically just a box of Rubrics and a box of Tzaangors, so I reckon I'll be sticking to the Compendium for now.
