What kendo book do u recommend?
Kendo do help me in self-defense situation, I ran faster and longer than the attacker
It was called correctly?
八段用に修得した技かなw

これは圧倒的鍋山先生の面やわなww
Everyone's looking at the hands and while that s important I think that the feet are more important. The left foot came a little too slow and passed the right foot.
栄花先生エグすぎる…ww
The "Lightbulb" moment was that, one of my sensei's told me to think like your left foot being a spring, compressing, adding energy, ready to release with a forward lunging motion, and keeping your upper body straight.
Yes! That’s a good way to see it. Specially since springs are not tense I think is a good analogy because you want the leg ready but not tense or stiff!
Love the point about follow the rt palm.
In glad it was helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help! Thank you for watching!
Yes pls video on suriage
Thank you! I will make it. I have a few videos I’m working on but I won’t forget!
This helped a lot. Thanks
Thank you! I’m glad you found this useful. Any suggestion is always welcome.
The world need this video into spanish 😊
new rule by IKF makes this almost obsolete...no tsubezerai more than 1-2 sec, and no attack while going apart
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I disagree with this especially seeing tournaments in Japan. While the rules promote the avoidance of spending time in teubazeriai, you can see that many ippons are taken using Hiki waza. Also Hiki waza is more dependent on taiatari than tsubazeriai. I think that Hiki waza even before the new rules was neglected a lot in practice and for that reason maybe many people struggle with it. I personally think it should be studied more.
決まったの? 栄花さん足止まってる。
Sensei, sorry to be this guy, but at that level it is legit, but if it was me it would be considered time wasting.
Thanks!
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel. It really means a lot! 💪
@ great content thanks 🙏🏻
Shikake waza is often translated as "Attacking technique" but the late John Howell once told me that Shikake waza mean to break the opponents posture to be able to hit. If you check out the ZNKR list of shikake waza (harai, hiki, renzoku etc.) is makes perfect sense.
Loving your videos. I noticed that you have Kyle, Carman and Butters on top of your kitchen extractor, but you're missing Stan and Kenny.
菊池先生や
thanks for the video. and Happy New Year Jose.
Thank you too I’m glad this was of help. Let me know if you have any questions! Also happy new year!!!🎆🎊
Thank you very much for your easy to understand explanation. I am told to learn how to do 'sasoi', is that the same as tame? I am still confused about it. And also, I have a bad habit of getting in to deep in one move, could you please give some advise about how to eliminate that bad habit? I am trying to get my 5th dan, and have failed the exams several times
First thank you for watching. You have a lot to unpack here. I am not a fan of using Japanese for explanations in English. I am assuming that by sasoi you mean invitation? If that’s the case I wouldn’t say is the same as tame but maybe I would say is part of seme. Regarding coming in too close is hard to know by just this message. Often when people close the distance without really giving pressure this happens and then the fight turns messy and reactive but I couldn’t tell if this is what’s happening without more details. Feel free to reach out in Instagram or Discord. Or message me through a live stream and maybe I can be more specific. Best of luck in your shinsa and happy 2025.
Sound advice as always. Strong shikake waza is the root to making your entire repertoire of techniques level up.
100% there’s so many elements needed for developing our kendo that we can learn from doing shikake waza correctly ! Have a happy new year!
Great tips José Sensei ⚔️💯 !! Thank you and may 2025 bring you many happy personal and professional moments🥂🍾!!
Thank you my friend for the constant support and god vibes💪 let’s have a great 2025 filler with learning and good keiko!
I was looking for a video like this for my coming grading. Excellent stuff. Thank you.

This is the high level tips I wished were more out there for 4 dan and up kenshi’s.
Im glad this can be helpful. I wished I saw this concepts this way, before my 4 Dan I think my kendo today would be so different. Thank you for all your support!!!

What a beatiful Ippon ✨
kamae
This is my lightbulb moment. Spoke to me and how I’m still lifting my shinai with my right hand. Mind now blown. Push-pull with the left. Right hand as rotation point and downward guide. So simple after seeing it. It was explained to me in class of course but this video resonated. Like figuring out your golf swing. 😂. Thank you, Sensei!
Thank you very much for watching and the kind words! If I can be of help please let me know.
Butokuden dojo spotted!
Pls show slow motion too so that we can see the hit.
자세 좆같네
Thank you for this video! This technique always been one of the more difficult moves for me. You broke it down succinctly!
No queiro aprender a ganar un ippon o un 1/3, yo quiero pelear con espada
I was born walking kendo then lol 😂😂😂
Thanks to this video I understood the movement. Now I just need to practise it.
