Gut Health and Weight Management: Beyond Dieting
Do you find sibo can has flatulence/gas that is hot feeling when passed?
Hmm. I'm not sure. I associate that more with lactose intolerance and hot stool as well. But perhaps with hydrogen sulfide SIBO. I've never experienced that.
Listen says Diogenes: I love Lindsey's questions, and her guests 👼🏿🙏🏿 Inflammatory Bowel disease, as suggested, yes, is actually more than digestive disorders. It fact, they are not digestive orders at all. And I can prove it! Hidden in the literature of science is that fact that all IBD affect somewhere else, or even started somewhere else. It is called: Extraintestinal Manifestation (EIM) What does "extra-" mean? Now what does "Manifestation" mean? In the case of IBS, it means: Blood! Yes, Inflammatory Bowel diseases are blood issues -- not digestive issues. That is why IBD is associated with anemia. Yet IBD is manifested in an explicit way digestively -- but that does not mean it's a digestive issue. Ayurveda knew this all along! That is why they emphasize herbs, to purify the blood. There are at least six herbs ayurveda emphasize to heal Ulcerative Colitis, for instance. Two of them are: Punarnava and Andrographis ⚔️🙏🏿
I wish there was videos.
I do record videos but don't like publishing them because then I can't edit the audio to make us both sound so intelligent! ( : But perhaps I'll release a couple of shorts on Spotify of parts where he was pointing to stuff on his body.
Thank you for talking about this. Drs. just want to give drugs and don't help. 🤗🤗
You're welcome!
Do you have any videos on FMT for leaky gut? I have EXTREME leaky gut and I mean extreme for as long as I can remember. I’m 22 supposed to be in the prime of my life but feel like I just want to die everyday. I pretty much self diagnosed myself with leaky gut based off all my symptoms and a few blood tests with food sensitivities. I also get tons of sinus infections. I’m thinking about doing an FMT soon but it’s so expensive and I’m worried it won’t work because my condition is so out of hand. I haven’t been able to find anything online for someone who has done an FMT for leaky gut that’s why I was asking. Thanks!
Generally there's a reason for leaky gut, that involves gut infections. I'd get a comprehensive stool test first like a Tiny Health PRO, and see about interventions to treat what's in your gut before jumping to FMT. And I haven't had a show on that.
@ thanks for responding. I’ve done a stool test and most of it was decent since I eat very healthy. I only had super low IgA and super low akkermansia. Everything else was relatively normal. I’m almost certain I have leaky gut because after doing blood tests I found all the food I was eating was showing reactivity on the chart. Researching carnivore diet now since I didn’t really react to any meat.
@@907chaosgaming2 Which type of stool test did you do? Are you taking anything to bring up sIgA or stress management? It may be a stress/adrenal issue. And how's your blood sugar. Absolutel rubbish about whey protein powder. Just trying to sell his products.
Are you still taking synthetic melatonin? The problem with supplement synthetic melatonin is that it’s in milligrams, however our body produces this hormone in picograms, which is billions of times less than milligrams. Furthermore, Coenzyme A formed from vitamin B5 is needed to properly synthesize melatonin. Synthetic melatonin in high doses may disrupt vitamin B5 levels in the body. Synthetic melatonin, which is not approved by the FDA, may also increase the risk for high blood pressure, diabetes and seizures for certain susceptible individuals. If you insist on taking melatonin supplement, go with a plant based form, at low dosage, like Herbatonin 0.3 mg.
I had to give up all pasteurized dairy. I feel like it was the cause of my sibo. I’m able to have raw dairy and love to have that at home. On the contrary if I took raw milk and heated it in a latte or coffee I wouldn’t be able to digest it again. What a tough life 😢
I have both hydrogen sulfide and methane SIBO, and I’m considering treating it with antibiotics-Rifaximin plus Metronidazole and Bismuth. Would it be beneficial to also take a probiotic to help balance everything out? If I choose a natural approach instead, what should I take?
Hi Maggie, I don't really give out recommendations for this sort of thing other than generally on a podcast for non-clients (what to take for a full protocol). But for probiotics, for constipation Biogaia Gastrus works well: www.iherb.com/pr/biogaia-gastrus-for-optimal-gut-health-mandarin-30-tablets/80974?rcode=PAR0010 and L Rhamnosus GG is good for H2S SIBO: us.fullscript.com/product_cards/92169/redirect?store_slug=35098 - and S Boulardii is generally good while on antibiotics. Lucy Mailing recommends 2, 3x/day while on antibiotics but you may want less if constipated. You can find that on Fullscript as well - Jarrow has 180 pill bottles. The other probiotics are 1/day.
Are there so many Me/Cfs patients who have healed from Gupta??? Hundreds of cured Me/Cfs patients are hiding on UA-cam? Why should they? These hundreds should go to the media, prove their true recovery, and the inventors of the method of recovery should receive world awards! Don't you realize that?
ME/CFS is recognized as a biomedical condition (not just psychological), involving immune, neurological, and metabolic dysfunctions. The Gupta Program doesn't address these biological underpinnings. The program's focus on retraining the brain might feel invalidating for patients who want their condition treated as a physical illness.
The Gupta program doesn't require that a condition be purely psychological. I've been going through it over the last 6 months. Rather, it simply implies that the brain can elevate our perception of pain, that anxiety can cause hypervigilance towards pain or fatigue, that the brain can create real physical symptoms and change our perception of them. I think it's important to also address physical issues and do with all my clients as well, but sometimes it's clear there's a brain component that hasn't been addressed that's keeping someone sick.
@ But the Brain is NOT creating symptoms by Me/Cfs!!! Don’t try to brainwash people, if there would have been a help for REAL diagnosed Me/Cfs people, YOU would have had a WORLD PRICE and wouldn’t hanging around in UA-cam! You would have been a millionaire with these “successful” therapy! But actually that’s why you’re here in UA-cam; to brainwash people and try to get money from your bla bla. Please don’t mix up Me/Cfs with anxiety depression and insecurity. By the way, if you want Twins, just change your thoughts and think about having them and when you believe it, YOU WILL be pregnant with twins!! I tried this and I got TWINS!! So it’s sooooo easy! The power of thinking! Okay!👌
Listen says Diogenes: When blood tests show low iron levels even when you are supplementing with iron, that is a condition where the body is purposely keeping blood levels of iron low, with the help of a hormone called hepcidin! Why is it doing this? To prevent the proliferation of pathogens in the blood since pathogens love iron. Also because it does not know what to do with said iron, since they cannot fit into their natural ferritin storage habitat. It is called iron sequestration anemia a.k.a. anemia of chronic disease! Where is hepcidin putting these iron? Instead of putting these iron in ferritin proteins, it is placing them in damaging complexes called hemosiderin, which then stores in organs and tissues throughout the body. What are the consequences of this? All manner of evil, including the birth of autoimmune diseases 🙏🏿⚔️ It is hard to get rid of iron when it is formed from hemosiderin.
Wait says Diogenes: Did you say you once consumed 130mg of ferrous sulfate (iron) for years? 😮😮😮 Please schedule a mobile phlebotomist immediately! The human body only excretes about 1 mg of iron per day -- which is the same amount needed to replace! Where do you think all of that ferrous iron went? It certainly did not just disappear! Do you think the fact that your blood levels of iron were not rising means all that ferrous iron disappeared? No! That iron is still there -- in all the wrong places, such as the liver, spleen, heart and eyes -- in the form of hemosiderin! Hemosiderin is a dangerous form of iron storage that hides in organs and wreak havoc! Like I said, call a mobile phlebotomist immediately 🙏🏿⚔️❤️
Women have this great way of getting rid of extra iron, it's called a period. ( : But rest assured, when I saw ferritin levels rising after menopause I gave blood and stopped taking iron.
Wow...good girl! Some women think a period is a burden! I'm jealous because I know it's a necessity that men should have too 🙃

I’ve been making Dr. Davis’s Sibo yogurt, but I noticed you mentioned if you have hydrogen sulfide Sibo not to take l reuteri, so should I stop taking that yogurt?
L reuteri BR11 is the strain specifically contraindicated. The L Reuteri's in the yogurt are normally Biogaia Gastrus (L Reuteri DSM 19738 and ATCC PTA 6475). I don't have any info on those so if you feel good eating it, proceed. But L rhamnosus GG is specifically shown to be helpful so you might consider making yogurt with that or taking a different probiotic.
@@highdeserthealth Thank you, I will document that in my notes
One of your commenters mentioned that the physicians elemental diet is bad for hydrogen sulfide sibo
added sugar won't be good so definitely choosing the lowest sugar option in elemental diets would be best, but I don't tend to go to Elemental Diets for H2S SIBO at all as I think of it as a different beast than normal SIBO.
@@highdeserthealth I know, and unfortunately that different beast doesn't yet have a protocol to follow, unless I haven't found it yet....
@@nitasiaroland6117 I have a protocol for it and have been successful with several clients using it.
Listen says Diogenes: There is a danger in being too smart, or rather, in being over smart, as there is a danger in being over methylated. And Dr. Jenna Weeks knows this! I once had an African American doctor who would go over my blood work and say, "I don't know what this is ... I don't know what that is ... I don know what this is either." And then he would get to his main point: "If you don't fix this problem, then you'll have to take this medication for the rest of your life!" I always appreciated him -- not for his knowledge, but for his honesty! And for his getting to the main point! I guess what I'm trying to say is: I don't know much about genes, epigenetics methylation, and these other things -- and I don't want to either 😮 What I want is honesty and, the main point: B vitamins improve peoples' health dramatically, so they keep taking it. Have you ever read the label on B vitamins?: the mg or mcg is usually hundreds or thousands of the daily recommendations! We can't be taking these things everyday! The only B vitamin I will consider is: B Stress Complex by Food Research Because it is made from real food. And I have a problem with methyl B12 because if someone's methylation is not working correctly, then methyl B12 won't work correctly either. That's when I consider: adenosylcobalamin (B12) or hydroxocobalamin (B12) 🙏🏿
Part I of II I love the way how Dr. Jenna Weeks uses her imagination. She's so right what she says about choline reducing fat in fatty liver. I was diagnosed with fatty liver last year and I've been using choline. But not just any choline -- it must be foodbase: Choline Complex by Food Research 🙏🏿 Before anyone rushes out to buy synthetic choline and then use thousands of milligrams of it - think. Think moderation: choline no more than 500mg per day -- and foodbase 🙏🏿⚔️
What evidence do you have to support the contention that it needs to be Food based?
Choline = trimethylglycine = betaine. Synthetic choline (choline chloride or choline bitartrate) = salt Either one works, AT FIRST. But continuous use of HIGH DOSE choline salts lead to liver and heart damage 🙏🏿
Hope you're not mad at me!@@highdeserthealth
so someone with constipation should not take tributyrin?
Not necessarily. If I suspect there are issues in the colon, like inflammation, ulcerative colitis, or someone reports a sense of incomplete evacuation, or with hydrogen sulfide SIBO, I like a low dose tributyrin supplement (300-500 mg) once every 3 days up to once/day if it doesn't further constipate, but only if you're at least having daily BMs.
@@highdeserthealth Would you suspect of IBS/SIBO in case of none stop severe abdominal pain, more in the lower abdomen, yet MRI and colonoscopy did not indicate anything abnormal?
@@hadaryepyepyep123 H2S SIBO if you fit the symptoms described in the podcast, yes. But if the pain persists when not constipated (like after bowel prep) especially. If just when constipated, the pain could be from being backed up and gases, etc. and other causes too like endometriosis if you're female. Have you done a functional medicine stool test?
they did not find anything suspicious- bacteria or parasites. the pain is chronic, none stop and EXTREME after bowel movement, can't even stand up straight. is that "normal" for ibs? mri or colonoscopy came clear.

I did 4 weeks on the elemental diet. I was bloated the whole time, but afterward, I seemed to tolerate saturated fats better. However, after a few months, all the benefits were gone. Maybe I should have added some antimicrobials.
If you didn't do well on the elemental diet and remained bloated, it may mean you have a yeast or candida issue in your gut, as the sugars in the diet may have fed your yeast.
@@highdeserthealth I took caprylic acid and undecylenic acid in high doses every day while on the elemental diet, along with borax, to prevent a possible Candida infection, as I read there's a high chance of it occurring. Just in case, I tested for Candida afterward and was negative. The elemental diet didn't starve all the bacteria because I guess there's too much sulfur in it, but the ones that thrive on bile and saturated fats seemed reduced for a few months. I had better digestion and much more energy, but unfortunately, it didn't last long.
@@HugoFTW Ah, well I haven't ever used elemental diet with a client with H2S so I'm not sure about its efficacy. To me it's kind of a different beast that hydrogen or methane SIBO/IMO. What test did you use to test candida?
@@highdeserthealth I did an oats test, which showed negative according to the labo expert.
@@HugoFTW Yeah, that's how I'd look for candida.
Wait, I can drink kefir while treating my hydrogen SIBO?

What episode do you review thaena on? Was just given it
I can't recall when I reviewed it but my personal experience was that it was not great for someone who tended toward loose stool or diarrhea (which I do). It just made it looser. Might be a better choice for someone who's constipated.

Hi, you recommend rifaximin to treat this h2s ?
Great interview with Ashok! I’ve been using the Gupta Program for about 4 months now and have seen a marked improvement in my digestion. The daily Guptasize Meditations have also improved my mood and I feel more calm and centered. This program, along with the excellent guidance of you, Lindsey Parsons, is helping move me towards better gut health!
Thanks Janet!! I've been using it too to address mental aspects of SIBO and am finding it really helpful. Did the daily Guptacize this morning for the first time and was so relaxed I was bummed when it ended!
7:36 why do you think that trubutyrin slows mobility? I believe that it provides energy for the colon
It does both. So it firms up stool and it also helps people with incomplete evacuation to have more complete bowel movements. But I recommend lower dose butyrate on a more infrequent basis for that (if someone is constipated). Bajka, B., Clarke, J., Topping, D., Cobiac, L., Abeywardena, M., & Patten, G. (2010). Butyrylated starch increases large bowel butyrate levels and lowers colonic smooth muscle contractility in rats. Nutrition research, 30 6, 427-34 . doi.org/10.1016/j.nutres.2010.06.003.

I went to the ER several times and was gaslit and told that it was all in my head and they tried to put me on anxiety medication when I knew different. That was two years ago now and I am still suffering. The only problem is, she was able to resolve her issues and I still have issues. I know that you can’t give up on yourself but out here on the East Coast no one and I mean, no one knows any of this information nor do they care to learn it! It’s like OK, what do I do now? Do not FMT..make your yoghurt..get the Smart gut book…if that doesnt work go to Thailand and do Ozone therapy…it will kill all that bad bacteria that is bad in your gut..FMT will not fix anything
I'm about to say something that may have never been said before: Dr. O' Bryan said diseases are caused by excess inflammation -- correct! But the bigger question is: What causes excess in inflammation? This is how I would simplify it: Inflammation is the root of all evil because no one really knows what it means! Our bodies are run by proteins -- is it not? Excess inflammation is caused by [corrupted] proteins throughout the body, thus causing a rise in insulin and a decrease in potassium, that guides insulin! This is the sum total that explains ALL CHRONIC DISEASES 🙏🏿⚔️ Key words: - Corrupted proteins - Insulin - Potassium
💩
I also use coffee enemas and herbal tea enemas to prevent and treat diseases, illnesses, pain, and weight gain.
Have you tried any of my recommendations? If so, seen any positive results?
honestly I can't recall. None for sleep but still have them in mind if what I'm using doesn't work.
For sleep, I recommended - stop 🛑 taking calcium supplements - add Platt's pro progesterone cream 5% - Herbatonin 0.3 mg - Blue vervain For hot flashes/night sweats, I recommended - manjistha - Iranian saffron - guava - sesame seeds For sleep apnea, I recommended - RNA/DNA supplement - Mullein by Wise Woman Herbals

I used to take calcium citrate every morning when I was eating spinach to handle the oxalates, but not everyone has an issue with them. There are 3 markers of oxalates on the organic acids test and usually it's people with high levels of candida that show up with high oxalic acid. Lots of healthy foods have oxalates, unfortunately.

I have watched hundreds of videos on these topics, and your info is very good...not enough people are willing to simply stop eating gluten and milk products and see what happens...it cost nothing and is easy to do! Should be everyone's first step to healing the gut!
Not sure! Maybe because I don't pay for advertising?
Part III of IV Did I hear you talk about hydroxyapatite? Stop 🛑 it! Now you're going to hate me! I looked up nano hydroxyapatite [Nano-HA], and my conclusion is to not use it. Yes, it may make your teeth look and feel better, but that's where the benefits ends! In theory, it sounds good. Used by NASA for astronauts, yes. The problem is this product is synthetic, not approved by the FDA and banned by the European union because of legitimate health concerns. I learned years ago, anything that says "nano" should always be treated with caution. Think about it, hydroxyapatite is a very hard substance, that has been powdered down to nanoparticles. It is still a hard substance, whether in the form of a rock, or nano particles. These particles can and will get lodged in organs and tissues and may cause irreversible damage. I think fluoride is very bad, but I think Nano-HA is even worse. Here is something (else) I read a few years ago: Hydroxyapatite is a mineral complex derived from cow bones. In hydroxyapatite, calcium is bound with phosphorus. (This is the principal form of calcium storage in bone.) That sounds great for bone health, but there’s a catch. When you consume calcium, the calcium is freed from whatever substance it’s bound with. So in the case of hydroxyapatite, the calcium is separated from the phosphorus before either is absorbed. Unfortunately, this means you absorb more phosphorus than you ideally should. Research shows too much dietary phosphorus can be a risk factor for cardiovascular and kidney diseases. What’s more, one study found the risk of fractures increased by 9% for every 100 mg of phosphorus intake. That’s concerning, especially as the general population is already consuming more than enough phosphorus in processed foods and food additives.
Did I hear you say your partner has sleep apnea? Not any more 🙏🏿 I had sleep apnea probably for decades, but I was officially diagnosed 9 years ago! The literature about what causes sleep apnea -- I ignore! I'll tell you what I believe causes it -- and the solution! Ever heard of hypertension? Of course! That's systemic hypertension (especially primarily and of secondary cause.) But what about pulmonary hypertension? This hypertension is caused by dysfunction of arteries to the lungs and veins going back to the heart, and the blood that goes through it. Not to bore you, sleep apnea is a mucus problem -- caused by bacterial infested blood, due to the beginning, subtle stage of pulmonary hypertension! You won't read that anywhere -- I made it up!!! I bet your partner's loud snoring will disappear in 24 hours, if they do this! Do you want to know what THIS is?
This wouldn't surprise me as he's a smoker. But he's reducing and I hope soon quitting!! I don't know what "This" is.
I bet you sleep in separate rooms? Not anymore! Yes, cigarettes also make blood dirty, creating the need for more mucus! So here is what I used to stop the snoring in 24 hours: RNA/DNA supplement (from Solgar) This is made from brewer's yeast, which contains B vitamins. B vitamins help make and rejuvenate blood, reducing bacteria and mucus. That's why it works so well. What I also have been using recently, which seems to tackle sleep apnea itself, is a lung herb called Mullein. This herb helps rejuvenate the blood vessels of the lungs, and make breathing easier and smoother during sleep. I use: Mullein tincture, by Wise Woman Herbals. Let me know if it worked!
@@Diogenes-II Thanks! Will try after our honeymoon. He's on high dose B vitamins so I think we're covered there.
@@highdeserthealth congratulations 🎉🎉🎉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Solgar RNA/DNA is not just about "high dose B vitamins". You're way to smart not to know that! Furthermore, high dose B vitamins is dangerous for the body, just as any synthetic high dose vitamin is dangerous for any body 🙏🏿
