O' Lord, may your divine qualities shine forth in my life. May you grant me dispassion for all worldly things, while granting me undivided love for you o' Lord. May your remove my ego so I may serve you to the fullest.
Yoga Explained: From Ancient India to Modern Life
#advaita #vedanta #sarvapriyananda
Todays passage discusses the concept of yoga and karma, primarily focusing on Swami Vivekananda's teachings in New York during 1895-1896. While yoga can refer to one of the six orthodox schools of Indian philosophy, the text focuses on yoga as both a process and goal of spiritual life, with two key meanings: concentration and union.
Vivekananda introduced a new understanding of yoga through four approaches (yogas):
- Bhakti Yoga (devotion)
- Jnana Yoga (knowledge/wisdom)
- Raja Yoga (meditation)
- Karma Yoga (action)
The text then delves deeper into Karma Yoga, explaining that all actions are karma and affect our character. Karma includes not just physical actions, but also mental and verbal ones. The goal of all yoga is knowledge - not external knowledge, but the discovery of knowledge within oneself. This knowledge is about realizing one's true divine nature.
The passage emphasizes that while pleasure and happiness are temporary, true knowledge is permanent. Both pleasure and pain, good and evil, serve as teachers in forming one's character, with misery often being the better teacher. The text suggests that all knowledge exists within the human mind, waiting to be uncovered.

🙏🙏🙏 Pranam Maharaj Jai Shree Ramakrishna Its a blessing to hear Your lectures. i want to dedicate this life wholly to attain Spiritual Progress , to get closer to God , as much as possible in this life. For the past many years i ve been being victimized to black magic and poisoning thru food , by my own elder brother n parents . Some perverted organizations are also giving them support . i dont know how long i can hold on . i seek Your kind blessings to be protected from all such evil forces and reach a secure place to stay , where i can go deep in my Spiritual Sadhana. 🙏 OM
Pranam Guruji. 🙏 I find that the underlying intension is so critical. The Seed. This is the deepest secret that only the Self knows. For example, some people may enter the spiritual pursuit to escape the condition of their life ie someone enters monastery for safety (food, shelter etc). Or some wants community and friendship. Then this is what they get, not necessary realization of Self. If someone studies spirituality with the intent to be able to teach others so they can pay their bills. Then they become a teacher that enables them to pay their bills, not necessarily realization of Self or enlightenment. Although many can pretend but nobody can lie to themselves because the Self always knows the truth. But this can be part of the enlightenment process. The aspirant will need to become dissatisfied and wants more - beyond the initial desire. So it is step by step like stripping the onion till they find nothing in the end except awareness, consciousness and Bliss. Enlightenment is achieved 🙏
But all the other manthras can not be interpreted in the same tone as Swamiji told and already there is a similar mantra in karmakanda interpreting as SriSamkara did.We can interpret as we wish but the interpretation must resonate other Upanishads also(समन्वय).
What is your definition of consciusness
Knowing is the essence of enlightment and the knower is brahman.... pure knowing
Pranams swamiji 🙏🙏🙏

Sir I bet you are more creative, more intelligent, infinite wisdom n knowledge than AI..really really divine experience to hear you..u r adorable 😊
after reading Negal (1 page) i can't reduce Conciseness to the brain but we have made (seeming) progress since we used to think it emerged in the heart.
Thanks swamy ji what a great adeas for all of us
When human existence talks about its own consciousness as in third person singular, it would definitely makes one feel like "of course, I have a semen ejaculation but its mastrubation not sex"
Thank you Swamiji 🙏
Thank you Swamiji for lucidly explaining the precepts of Vedanta.
The biggest con is the hype built around enlightenment. Post enlightenment you suffer the dualities of life with a smile, so do it anyway, enlightenment or not who cares ??
That’s the point.. post enlightenment you don’t suffer ..
@Aliceinwonderland-l2w as long as there remains pursuit of desire , there will be suffering. It's something which we bring on ourselves.... What has enlightenment to do with it?
Post enlightenment there is no "you" anymore to suffer. This is a subtle understanding which takes a while to grasp as it seems absurd to the logical mind of a seeker. All I can say is stick to these teachings of Sarva, Ramana, Nisigardata, Robert Adams, etc (jnana) and it will become clear in time and you understand truly what is meant.
@@oln3678 While mentioning the luminaries of the Advaita world, you have left out Balsekar. As per Balsekar, you are the ego so all talk of killing the ego is mere hogwash.

Our true nature is likened to a mirrors ability to reflect, in that anything that passes in front of the mirror doesn't change its ability to reflect and our true nature of awareness is like that.

Enlightenment is not some Big Bang or some massive achievement or realisation - it is just knowing “the true nature of the self” - there is nothing to be done before or after - nothing changes - it is not knowledge or information - it is just the experience of realisation of the nature of the self
How do you know whether you are enlightened or not?
So how enlightened beings identified 'self'? Your examples and the explanation conveyed nothing, you have come round and round but explained nothing! If a person see their own eyes through the reflection with the help of mirror. Okay. So, if Vedanta is that mirror, I can show the reflection of me eyes to others in that mirror, right? So how can you're not capable of showing your 'self' to others or making others to understand tour 'self' with the help of Vedanta?
Is there any realised person …..who said he is enlightened through sankara advaita? Directly quote not from third party interpretation.
Beautifully said Swamiji

People can contact me for more information about all these. I sort of figured these out on my own already. I have to perhaps thank the strength of my Jupiter to be able to figure stuff out. Information is just Mercury. But to truly able to piece the information and understand it deeply and truly and make the connections needed and to find the exact holistic perspectives from all the various information out there requires the strength of Jupiter. All these claims are from my own understanding and not quoted from anyone. That is why with weak wisdom/ Jupiter, even with the good teacher explaining it as properly as possible, one cannot understanding it (wisdom) and just perceive it as information (Mercury). With a strong Jupiter, even with poor information and explanation, one can figure out the wisdom on their own. But what is being said as the concepts of the different paths here, I didn’t exactly understood it deeply as it is in the past. It was just teachings and information to understand for me then. Now I truly am able to see the logic as to why such teachings are being made. This understanding cannot be transmitted differently with words and it’s an internal understanding. That is also why people talk about how gurus of the highest order (in this case being enlightened) often have to figure it out themselves and by going within etc. It’s all an internal understanding (Jupiter is exalted in Cancer - which shows internal knowing).
Swami you will change the world to peace 😎 💪
🙏🙏🙏
But teacher, I've found that in my pursuit to not desire, I've replaced my desire for the primal with my desire to stop desiring. How can i stop my desire to stop desiring? Send the student down the path so he may see for himself , himself.
