Znałem takich autsiderow, straceńców, poetów, malarzy , artystów. Wszyscy nie spełnili się. Mieli marzenia, które uleciały jak papierosowy dym. Tylko trochę w innej żyli scenografi. Bo w PRL. A z tego filmu też kilku aktorow odeszło przedwczesnie. Pawlikowski popełnił samobójstwo, Maklakiewicza podobno zakatowała milicja. Ale film robi wrażenie. Świetnie Has pokazał życiowych straceńców i wspaniała gra aktorów. Nasuwa się pytanie. Dlaczego dziś w takim stylu nie kręci się filmów? Czy dziś nie ma ludzi, których życie wyrzuciło na aut. Lubię takie filmy, bo po obejrzeniu od razu nie można zapomnieć.

I think Mearsheimer is mistaking the motivation around the Russia/Ukraine war. The USA had a big problem. The rise of the European Union. It is much larger, population wise, than the USA, and already had significant industrial power. Then Russia was building a pipeline to feed natural gas on the cheap directly in the European Union, without going through the Ukraine. This was good for Russia, and for Europe, but not so good for the USA. As far back as 2014 the USA was already warning European nations against supporting that pipeline, even though it would give them a ready supply of natural gas at a reaonable rate. The USA then helped overthrow the elected government of Ukraine, and actively encouraged Ukraine to accept NATO, which, as anyone could have guessed. was unacceptable to Russia. Voila! Now the pipeline is blown up, Russian and Ukraine are at war, and Europe has to purchase LNG from the middle east at a much higher rate. Win, win, win.
