Depends. If you just straight up chop every thread that is visible on the back then, yes, it will probably unravel. Maybe not immediately, but it won't hold up in time. So I would either use a needle and sew them in or tie two strands together to make a knot and then you can cut. I usually just do the latter

I have in the written pattern that 72 grams is needed and i think I added a little extra buffer to that as well so I would say you should be good with one 80gram ball!

I'm custom making them for sale on my instagram "cordiallycrafted". But the pattern is by "lisabestitchin" on etsy. I would say that it's a bit tedious with trying to work the wire around each of the parts, but the stitches are easy. It's mostly single crochet with a few half double and double crochets.
