I started crocheting about 2 months ago and I'm 13,I made lots of bags but can't use any of them since they are not sturdy and I don't know how to line bags yet so you truly are a lifesaver!I already knew the 3 strand technique but didn't think of using it this way.I chained 22 +1 and I made 17 rows with 100 sc for straps,I made this cute coffee coloured crossbody and it's very sturdy! It fits my phone and even fits my entire ipad!!I know I'm late to this video but Thank you very much for this video❤I also plan of making one in entire single colour!!
The three stands is strong so this bag will last long and be amazing! Also make sure you have a lot of yarn because you will need it when I did mine I used scrap yarn which I probably need more anyway this project was amazing and Easy!❤😂
Would love a tutorial on how to had a little pocket to the inside!😊 this was a great video really easy for me to follow as a beginner (this is only the second piece I’ve done)
Wow Jade I enjoyed this easy to follow tutoriaI so much. Quick & easy and yes I’m super impress with my “chunky” yarn👏🏽I made a yellow one and im so excited to try it for my coming craft market. Thank you!❤Gonna try another colour now! Whoop whoop!!!
Thank you for this! Making everyone in my family a 'designer purse' Haha! The three strand really helps! especially because i cant find my scissors!! Thank you!
Just finished I will tag you soon on insta. It took me about a whole day because I was working and stuff I finished it after work. Thank you I’m so proud of myself.
Omg I just made the bag and it took me around an hour which isn’t long for a bag and the stitching isn’t great, considering I’m still new but it is so cute!!!! Tysm
By the way doing this with a fuzzy yarn will change your life. I used the Hygge yarn in pastel pink and it is the cutest thing I have every seen in my life-I made 2 more just to gift to my friends 🥰
Hi, could you tell me an estimate of the amount of yarn you used and the weight of it so I can convert it to the type of yarn im using? Great video and tutorial, ❤ from Chile
@@EleonoraM-tx9xiI just made it and used a 200g ball and have probably just under a third left even though I made it a bit bigger than the one in the video. It’s so cute!!
Hmm I'm a tote bag lover usually but I've been wanting to get a bag like this to try it out. I just haven't gotten around it because I don't want to buy one from store but I don't want to make one crocheting single strand because that would take ages and I might not like it in the end. This could be perfect as it's faster yet still cute and I don't have to buy new yarn to make it chunky :) Maybe this will be my last project for the year so I can try it out on new years eve perhaps😌 Your tutorial is awesome and pretty easy to follow
Hi jade I want to make this bag with 30 stitches Can u please tell me on the decrease rounds how many sc to do. And how many decreases please ? Just a bit stuck on the decreases with 30 sts Thankyou Great video as well
I keep increasing stitches every round and not sure what I’m doing wrong. Do you do a turning stitch at the end of every row or just at the beginning??
thank you this was the only totorial that didnt have the half double crochet btw do u have to do the 3 strand technique or can i just use normal chunky yarn
Can I use the 3 strand technique with any yarn or does it have to be a specific size or material? I would REALLY want to make a chunky bag for this summer!😁
I really am interested to learn to start this 3 strand technique. I am no a beginner but can't seem to grasp the first part of making the skip not in order to be able to pull through more yarn. Can anyone help?
hii i have a question! after you finish the first row and your back at the first stich marker, do you continue the single crochet around up till 4 rows, or do you need to slip stitchand chain one or something? as the video did not explain this sooo im kindaa lost hehe
It's worked in the round, which means you don't need to slip stitch to end the row. You can just keep single crocheting around. The stitch marker helps you keep track of the number of rows!
Is there an extra single crochet in the last stitch throughout the whole thing like in the beginning? When you made 18 you did an extra one making it 19 for the turning??
Just on the starting chain I add that extra stitch to turn. After that the stitch will be there the 2nd time around. We just had to add it on the starting chain because it wasn't already there
Yes! And depending on how big you go you’d probably want to do extra rows before you place any decreases on the side. I would draw the size you want on a piece of paper and then you can use that as a guideline for decreasing!
If you used a smaller hook and a the same size yarn as in the video, then the stitches will be smaller and tighter and the bag will be a little smaller! You would maybe want to add a few to the starting chain to make up for that. And then you could always add more rows to the top if you think it's not tall enough as you near the end. But you could totally use a different size hook!
Hi! When I get to the start of making the strap, my hook/work is going the opposite direction than yours.. so the inside stitching of my strap is what shows on top and I can’t figure out how to get it to be flip flopped. Do you know what might be happening? Thank you!
It would change the shape of the bag. A sc is more like a square and the dc more like a rectangle. So if you do exactly what i do in the tutorial it may end up being taller but still the same width. You could do less rows to fix that probably. You’d just have to play around with it!
can someone pls explain what did she do in the stitch where the stitch marker was instead of doing a st? i watched a lot of videos of how to work in the rounds but im still not sure on how to do that here (since all of the tutorials were about making circles not bags)
the stitch marker allows me to know where each row ends, if it wasn't there then I would have a hard time counting rows since there isn't a slip knot to end a row. You put it on the first stitch of each row but when you work around to it again you just remove it and keep crocheting, making sure you place the stitch marker again. even though it is a bag, it's the same idea that you see in a tutorial that works the round in a circle. I hope that helps!
Hi ..i have been trying to make this bag as its look so good but problem i am facing is before reaching to decreasing part itself my bag is going larger and larger..is there any rules for both corners? I am just doing sc in all except slip not on beginning part..do i have to make 3sc in sides just like in first round? Please 🥺 reply
It shouldn’t get any wider, after the first increases just place one sc in each until the decreases. I would recommend using a stitch marker on the first stitch you make of the round and the last stitch you place of that first round because you may be placing one extra stitch per round. I’ve done that before. Sometimes the slip stitch method to join rounds makes it confusing where the final stitch is. But if you have your first stitch marked and last stitch marked and you know you only need x amount of stitches then that may help
Would LOVE a slouchy hat tutorial! I just started crocheting last weekend and I've made a few things so far just by following these types of videos. Makes me feel more competant than I am!! I can't wait to make a hat but following a pattern is literally impossible for me.
If your talking about the skeins of yarn she used half of one. But if you mean how many strands she was using she was using 3. Or if you mean what size she was using she was using 5mm yarn size. ❤
After you work across the original chain, you keep going and work along the bottom side as well. This allows us to create an oval that we will use to work in the round. If you've never worked in the round, I would suggest looking at a UA-cam video!
If you had 2 rolls of yarn you could do what I show in the video with the first roll to make the 3 strand and then just add the 2nd roll in for the 4th strand and then use those to create the slip knot
Please make a rules for bag in corona..and mistakes we do in corner please i am stucked here because of which i am unable to make any bag, design i learned but tutorials are not showing utpo 2/3 rows for making corners only one time only which makes me so confused as a beginner please any one knows my mistake can guide me 🙏😢it will be very helpful if there is any video related to rules of corner in bag you can suggest me❤
hmm.....When you first go to make the 3 strands at the beginning, make sure you have the tail laying the opposite direction of the ball of yarn. Then make sure you treat the side with the tail just like you normally would when you make a slip knot. Then you should be able to work as normal. and you'll eventually work toward the loop and need to pull more yarn through, doubling over on itself to make 3 strands. I'm not sure if thats the part where you're having trouble or not! let me know if this helps.
The 3 strands is SOOOOOO smart omg I’m gonna use that trick to make a super chunky blanket and save so much money in chunky yarn 😭😭😭😭😭😭

hi, do you think this pattern will work on ribbon crochet as well?
Heeey for what hook is that yarn? 4,5mm? :) I know that you used the 8mm hook.
The yarn i'm using is a size 4 big twist yarn and it calls for a size 5 hook!
The biggest hook I have is a 6mm, do you think that will work for this project?
Yeah probably! It might be hard to keep the yarn on the hook but if you can manage it should turn out about the same!
@@jadecordial I’m slowly but steady getting there! I only have the handles left. Thank you!
How many yard is that yarn? Mine is 50gr and 150yard cand i make it too?
hmm, I'm not totally sure how much is used but you might be able to complete the bag with that much. It would probably be cutting it close.
so I'm making a bigger one, but how much rows do i crochet before decrease
not sure exactly, you can just add a decrease row every few rows and see how you like it
Could you please like show us how to crochet bag with regular yarn
what type of bag? there are plenty videos already on youtube as well!

size 4 yarn!

How did it turn into a bowl lol I'm confused
What type of yarn can do? Is milk cotton can?
