Dude imagine the DREAD those Danish soldiers felt when the brig-sloop started raining fire on them. Just imagine what they thought when they saw the ship at first, thinking that it was there to rescue them or something, only for the whistle to blow that commanded every man on board to man the cannons. There wasn't hope at the end of the canal, only salvation. Better to die than to turn into one of them.

Discovered this game 4 months ago and I didn't seem to like it. Probably because the fact that my first impression of the game was with literal blind and deaf idiots. Came back to revisit and Kaub was actually the map that I played. Got to this part surprisingly in 1 life, it was so intense. We won too, and I got a badge. The devs really pieced it well. The treacherous journey to the castle, the build up at the tower, then finally the ending. It felt amazing and I can't believe I missed so much fun lol.

The cannibals have started to breach the defenses, the men became more desperate in order to escape this hell of a place. Freedom to them was so close... Unfortunately, it was blocked with an iron gate, standing there as an impenetrable barrier... So close yet so far. They took the risk of attracting the whole town to the cemetery and rang the bell, hoping that someone out there could hear their prayer and come to rescue them. But now, it seems to be backfiring them. blood spills were inevitable... Slowly, one by one, their comrades were either mauled to death by the blood-thirsty fiends or blown into smithereens by the "barrels". They knew that this was a possibility, yet, still weren't ready to face it. As the defense started to fall, they fell back to the gate, which held them from escape in the first place. The horde managed to corner them, there was only a scant few number of soldiers who survived left. They started to get desperate, fighting in despair as if there was tomorrow. All of them were hopeless as no one came to save them, they thought this was the end for them... Just then, their attention was shifted to a French soldier waving at them from the other side of the gate with a barrel of explosives and a lit torch, trying to get their attention. The soldier placed down the barrel right before the gate and lit it up with the torch in his hand, attempting to blow up the gate and rescue the soldiers. But when he was about to evade, the barrel went off, taking away his life. Frankly, this has also blown up the gate, which enabled the soldiers who were in time of crisis to escape. If it wasn't for that mysterious French soldier who sacrificed himself to blow up the gate, they would have been dead by now. But the men didn't have the time to grieve over their fallen savior right now, they had to evade. They then ran off to find safety until they were met with salvation, which was lying just on the other side of the wooden bridge which was carrying barrels of explosives. The fuel was running out, they were running out of time. With a mix of enthusiasm and adrenaline, they screamed out at the top of their lungs, charging toward salvation. This indeed was the most terrible and horrifying night of their life, some of them could not survive the bloodshed and tell the tale. But their sacrifices won't be in vain... If they couldn't survive to tell the tale, their alive comrades will.

First map i played and survived a dude got grabbed in the end and went to save him and we managed to jump into the boat but broke his legs, got old yeller and deliverance felt good

Me as an officer loading the cannon, filling up my charge bar, and trying not to get blown up by a bomber or slashed by zapper waiting for the boat to arrive before the barricades stop barricading!
