For anyone returning to this: The title reads "Why do you afflict yourself, my heart?", a composition from J. S. Bach… written in Leipzig around 1720. The German lyrics can roughly be translated as follows. "Why do you afflict yourself, my heart? I am despised. He will not allow it. Oh, sweet consolation. God shall be my confidence. So then! I shall rest quite comfortably. As thy are my father and god." Quite baffling to see how carefully they chose this song, considering you listen to it in the church as well as you start out in Leipzig.
i tried looking for this piece's sheet music and whilst doing so, i found out that there are multiple differeny pieces with "Warum betrübst du dich, mein Herz" as its title, and at least three of them are from a bach i found that pachelbels version sound the most similar (at least for the opening) and fun fact: j. s. bach wrote his "Warum betrübst" in the St. Thomas Church of Leipzig, the very same church that we spawn in

The game actually has lore, some notes around San Sebastián, and the texts written in catacombs of Paris, plus the infection having biblical origins (proof in catacombs and on the priest class repelling zombies with crucifix and purging the infection via blessing) and also Napoleon Bonaparte being actually alive.

@@SwagTinCommander i don't think that's very true, due to catacombs of Paris having already some hints for the origin of the virus, but that can actually be true, and if it was true, i think that the undead were actually not obedient, and they just started attacking everyone including Napoleon and the French.
When I was stuck in a blizzard while skiing I began to loose strength due to the handicap of a pair of skiing boots I was wearing. They felt like weights I was carrying with my legs. That combined with the snow pilling up and me not being able to see through the thick white made me begin to lose hope. This song began to play in my head as I plowed through the snow, I was about to give up before I saw the lights of the skiing lodge. So with what little strength I had left I managed to plow through the snow in my way and make it inside, got some minor frostbite as well as near hypothermia. Couldn’t imagine how I could’ve ended up if I had given up just a minute earlier.

One day I was playing on this map, and when we got to the last part (defending ourselves against the horde) me and another guy went to the cannons. I was firing and he was reloading. Eventually, the main crew (which was at the place the boat comes) died to bombers and the guy who was with me got eaten alive. I somehow managed to run through the zombies and, as the last person alive, get on to the boat. Buuuut, when I got to the ship I (somehow) died to 3 zombies who got on there as well. That sucked because literally the whole lobby was cheering me on :(

I love this terrible world of this game, the destruction of the population of most of Europe will greatly affect humanity in this world, everything will have to be restored from the population to the economy, science, culture and so on, although I am sure that religiosity after such a zombie virus will be extremely high, but that's in the future, in the present there's a nightmarish apocalyptic vibe, one wrong step and you're dead, but imagine this horror in real life, ahah I wouldn't survive
