in the 80's i fractured my L7 trying a variation of this. so here's the breakdown. 1: study ice skaters how they do their high speed pirouettes. 2: study how cats rotate to land on their feet. (that'll give you the entry and exit position) 3: study form and body position. following the animation and how everybody demonstrated, your body has to be rail straight, toes pointed down, arms and hands tucked in, head in the neutral position, if your not as straight as a pencil during the spin, you'll never have enough inertia to complete the spin. the cat's rotation gives you your entry and exit and energy transfer. finally the ice skaters and gymnast (ballerinas too) will show how to build the speed and inertia going in to the spin. everyone's form is too loose and sloppy, your loosing rotational momentum going into the rotation. My 54th birthday is tomorrow (8/22/70), so you can guess why i prove, "those that can't do, teach". I've broken my body too many times martial arts, gymnastics, break dancing and parkour. so here's an even harder challenge once you get past this one. *the ticktock flare* windmill to flare, change rotation direction mid spin. that's how i broke my back in '87. upper body twisting clockwise, lower starting counter rotation. my back muscles were too relaxed and the lumbar fractured and almost took the spinal cord with it. 3 years later, i pulled it off ONCE and retired from breaking and gymnastics, switching to parkour before freerunning was a thing.
