I wouldn’t call it AI takes all the jobs, it’s just gradual cost optimization. Also, higher accuracy isn’t the point, the goal is to optimize costs. If you need to pay $10k+ vs some hundred dollars for a recruiter, you’ll optimize costs right away. I moved from Singapore to Gdańsk this year and got a great principal software architect offer I happily accepted. The market may be tough but you work whole career for potential opportunities.
perhaps
Thanks for a lesson
My pleasure!

thank you so much
Minutiae of technique. Only solved through repetition. God speed, BHR.
can I ask what heat you have your hot air on to help desolder the ground pins? I recently got a desoldering gun as well but am having problems with the ground pins and not used to using hot air at all.
I use 380 on the gun but without hot air it's not enough to melt ground pins. Try with the bottom heater and maybe 420C
@@blackhorserepairs I have a hot air station as well it's just that I have never used it. I got the 948-II, that comes with hot air rework, soldering and desoldering. so just wondering what temp you would recommend having the hot air on when doing the ground pins. would 420 be good on that as well?
@@PatrickWaks I use 380 on hot air but event 300 will do the trick as long as there's 380 on the desoldering gun
@@blackhorserepairsawesome, that helped! Managed to get the ic off with your help!
@@PatrickWaks awesome, always glad to help
Try to clean it. But first, see if everything works. Good luck to you!
how to clear surface bios please tell me
follow my procedure, remove the BIOS chip, read it, decompress, swap BIOS region and flash back.
I think you're obsessing over the alignment and it's a red herring. The surface tension of the molten solder will pull it into place - however you're not getting an even heat distribution. ALL the solder needs to be molten at the same time and then it will pull itself into the correct place. Hot air isn't great for this. You should also use a tiny amount of flux - just a very thin film.
I do use a bit of flux but it burns off before the solder is ready to melt. Do you think I should use IR heater instead of hot air?
If idiots didn’t mash their pins, this wouldn’t be necessary.
Even neural make mistake because theirs décision are based on its inputs that does not always reflect reality ,finaly it's just a calculus with some error margin and it can give innacurate results more often time than you might think .
yeah, but for some reason we decided that 80% accuracy is good enough :D
Good work
Thank you so much 😀
Witaj Zmień podejście. Zostaw dolny podgrzewacz a zamiast hot aira zastosuj grzałkę na podczerwień . Pozdrawiam
that is my plan indeed :)
I'm curious how long the batteries last? And do you need to reset the clock and date when you change the batteries? For HVAC work it is nice to have the humidity, temp and a clock but a timer would be nicer to have than a calendar. It would be cool if they had an 613-A, 613-B, 613-C that could remove certain things like the calendar or clock? I like the big sideways orientation as well because my eye balls suck nowadays.
yes, you do need to reset the clock after battery replacement, but I expect it's once a year tops. Yeah, I wouldn't mind having the timer on it too but it's 3-button interface so it wouldn't beat the phone anyways :) I'm sure version 613-B will be better based on how the company seems to improve with each product. Readability-wise it's pretty much the same as Fluke, big numbers, easy to read.
Wow! Raff just taught a whole trade school semester in just 46 minutes! Thanks!!
yeah, who says education in USA is expensive :D
If the heat's not parallel to the board, you'll never get even heat. Moving the nozzle around won't resolve that. The entire device must have uniform heating, so uniform distance and coverage is required.
yep, the stand is on its way, should have that problem resolved soon :)
Great work, if you use only a piece of wick it will heat up properly not heating the whole reel and loosing heat. Just to mention a tip 😉
well, depends on the mass of the wick, this one is very heavy, requires higher temp. I ran out of good wick :)
Its a real mean one on speakers better have good ones, when you do it knocks shit off the table... Proud of mine it does well. Surprised to see so little inside for guts?
I sure was and yeah, it blew up one of my cheap speakers too :)
Uneven heating? try to remove the heatsinks from the board. There are no shortcuts to success.
I thought about that and I do believe it's a good advice. My position on this is that it makes no difference other than perhaps the speed of heating. I will perform an experiment to confirm that though. Thank you so much!
Raff you would have made a helluva a surgeon.
yeah, I wouldn't mind a surgeon's paycheck for sure :P

true that
Very confusing. But thanks anyway.
You need to make bigger preheter. There's a bunch of vids on tube how to make it
thank you, I'll look into that
Thanks for the video. I will have to look for the video with the 1151 so I can get the temperatures you use for removal and replacement and the flux. Thanks again.
remember that every tool is different, expect the need for adjustments, start with lower temperatures and slowly go up. In addition mind the thickness of the board, 1151 socket boards will be thinner than AM5, when overheated they will deform.
🎉Thank you raff, I always look forward to your new videos.... if you need a bigger preheater with more power then i suggest T8280 pcb preheater from ale xpress 😊👍.
thank you so much. I'll look into this preheater, perhaps it is time for an upgrade :)
Thanks Raff
there's my favorite subscriber :)
I can’t find the bios for my surface go 2 lte. It would be nice if you could provide a download link. Thank you!
I do not have one for this board but hit me up on discord, I am looking for one for 1901, very similar to this one, no luck so far
Thnks goid method slawly and beoteful
Thank you too
I ruined several motherboards trying to replace 1151 sockets! I tried a single electric burner and hot air. Some if the pads would not release and I ripped pads. Some of the caps and resistors floated off in the middle of the sockets also. Not easy for me. At least I purchased bent pin board on eb.. . Still wish it could be done cheaper! Thanks for the video.
yeah, socket replacement is hard for sure, but I recently found out that 1151 is actually an easy one compared to AM5 :)
@@blackhorserepairs how about showing a repair on one of them. I'd like to see how you do it.Thanks

just follow my procedure, make sure to back up your original bios just in case.
Low melt and flux should be used here. Stops you over heating the board. A little bit painful to watch, after 20 yrs as a solderer.
low melt won't make it under the transistor, I added leaded solder to the drain but it didn't make much difference. I should have just used full blast. Sorry I caused you pain :)
@@blackhorserepairsit does, you apply low melt to your iron with a big tip, add flux, put the iron against the bottom heatsink pad and hold. It works every time.
Do you do repairs in general? I have a surface go 3 with a locked bios. Price?
I charge $150 for Surface Pro 4, 5 & 7 password reset. I'm not familiar with Go 3, I might not have the clean BIOS region for it. I can look into that though
@@blackhorserepairs please do, I’d be willing to ship!
@@TroisDjinn drop in the ticket and I'll look into that blackhorserepairs.com
I use kapton tape in the area around the device I'm replacing, leaving just a little open square around the device. Two to three layers of tape seems to work for me. This way, even if the solder on the near components liquefies, you dont lose any of them, and their location is known.
Great tip! Thank you so much
Electronic injector pump can short some diodes too in ecu
Very good. Curious as to whether those IGBTs have flywheel diodes or full snubbers fitted (I have no knowledge of vehicle electronics).
Yes they do, as far as I know every IGBT comes with flyback diode
@@blackhorserepairs Agree. Apologies, badly worded question, I was wondering about anything external (across the coil etc), in my guesswork as to why they may fail (probably just old age).
@@ralphj4012 my guess would be cheap replacement coils, perhaps wiring... hard to say, but I don't think it's the transistor that is at fault, short like that indicates overvoltage
