My Trek Roscoe
Переглядів 188Рік тому
My trek 2023 Trek Roscoe 7. Everything is stock except pedals and rear tire.
Nice! What make/model of brake levers did you use?
After buying a gravel bike, I concluded that a regular mountain bike, even a retro one, is simply better if you truly want to ride off-road. However, if you mainly ride on pavement, a road bike is much better. Gravel is a rotten compromise.
Nice bike revive. The A2C of that fork looks tall. Was it designed for MTB?
amazing job for real!
v brakes internal cable, thats rare, anyway be more careful with angle grinder
@@catkudaterbang7277 will do🫡
nice bike, will you make a future video about that fork?, I want to buy one but my trust on carbor fiber is not good. I use my bike for commuting, still, the roads here are not the best.
@@akanobody5622 ill definitely make a long term use video about it. Short term if it breaks. Haha
i still can't let go of my first 3x10 mtb and did repaint by myself into flat black then i bought a carbon rigid fork,i still use it til today, hey i loved the outcome of your project bike
Beautiful conversion. Not enough people make these something from nothing bikes.
What a great bike. I got very similar looking Carbon fork from Ali Express four years ago to go on my Stanton Sherpa steel hardtail..been perfect.
Haha, glad to hear it's been working. Hoping mine holds up the same.
Nice looking bike there man! 👍👍
Thank you!
Nice looking bike, I'd be tempted to put rx400 derailleur at back and utilise the 10 speed. But nice looking bike. 💯
Thanks man. I've been thinking that same thing. I'll probably upgrade that in the spring.
@@BikeWithJohn - I think a 1x10 would suite someone who's accustomed to a single speed tbh. Like an Advent 1x 10 or depending on the levers you got - if they are 10 speed.
Nice Work!
Appreciate it!
Great video! Seeing my bike workshop at 5:30 was cool. Glad I got to be involved for part of the project.
@@robertweiss9911 thanks man, I appreciate the help 🙏
Nice job!
@@benjohnson4549 thanks :)
Brought my son a Roscoe, been on that more than my fuel ex all year, sold the fuel, going for a top fuel, or maybe my own Roscoe, can’t decide.
@@spencercampbell7300 Love them both. I personally have not used the Roscoe since buying the Top Fuel. Definitely checkout a shop and see if you can ride/compare them ride by side
Waiting for my roscoe 7 miami green do be deliverd to my local store.
I PUT APE HANGERS ON MINE ?
Ive just bought one in Miami green. Gets delivered in a couple of days.
@@Epiales3 congrats, enjoy!
Sick bike! I just got one myself and its such a beast 💪🏾
Great review. I’m just moving on from my old SuperFly hardtail and got either a Roscoe 8 or a Procaliber 9.5 in my sights
Both great bikes. I would that comes down to if you want a Trail/XC or a Agressive trail bike
Everything that said was spot on. But I still kind of wish that I had only gotten the frame and built it up myself. Turns out that I don't really like how they(Trek) spec'd the 7 out. 28h micro spline hubs ? Really. I know exactly what they were thinking. $$$$$$ I estimate that my Roscoe will be dope in about a year after 5 upgrades that they could have easily done and still made their 30% profit. 👍 I love the frame.
I got my Roscoe 7 on Olive Color 4 months ago and plan to put a 150 mm travel Marzocchi Coil Fork to soak up the suspension harness by the stocks Rockshox Recon when riding on blue trails.
Dont like how the carbon frames force you into wireless shifting.
I bought one on sale this spring, it's a 2023 model matte black just like yours. I love it. I had trouble with the dropper post as well, but Trek warrantied it, and I got a new one. It works good now.
@@donald2976 yeah those droppers are known for being faulty. Glad you got it warrantied. Enjoy the bike!
nice
Sorry about the camera angle! Also thanks guys for 50 subs!
is this a good bike for a new rider getting into MTB if I want to learn tricks and perhaps get into dirtjumping later down the road?
@@happysquirtle466 yes it is. The Roscoe is essentially a big dirt jumper. It jumps really well.
May be picking one up soon. Great video! What stem is that?
@@Trailblaza322 it's a v2 stem from ali express haha
its xl bike?
@@PavelAlves yes sir
Awesome! 👏 ❤ I just picked my Miami Green Roscoe 7 just yesterday for my birthday! I love it so much. I am glad I picked it up instead of the Marlin 7 Gen 2. Enjoy yours. Thanks for the cool video.
@@LisaRSArt that's a great upgrade!
Shop just called my Roscoe 8 is ready can't wait to rake it for a rip!
What is your settings for dji oa4?
Have top fuel 8 2022, but its weight around 15kg is insane heavy. Thinking about selling it, sadly 😞 Goin uphill on 15kg bike is experience what you really dont like.
@danielstormy3660 the weight is the one downside I've been finding. The new 4th gen was just released. Supposedly they've shed some weight
Loving my Roscoe 7. I upgraded the handle bars, stem, grips and pedals.
I have really enjoyed mine!
Video quality looks great with the DJI. You said this was Franklin Falls, NH? Looks like a great place to ride.
@@NortheastMTBTrails thanks, im excited to film some more rides with it. Yeah, Franklin falls NH. It's a great place for a quick ride since the trails are all relatively close to the entrance.
roscoe 7 or siskiu d6 or siskiu dse
@@ReC.e dont get sucked into a cheap full suspension. I recommend the Trek roscoe 7. Much better spec and proven reliability
@@BikeWithJohn those were my thoughts too, but just needed some confirmation 👍
Nice DJI baby 🎉🎉🎉
awesome cam...waiting for action 5 for my motocycle :)
Good commentary while riding. What fps were you recording at?
@@benjohnson4549 Thanks. I think I had it set at 4k 30fps ultra wide view. Still trying to figure out the best settings. I think it probably varies depending on conditions.
I bought the 5 last summer. Great bikes for sure. Coming from a Marlin 5 the upgrade was incredible. Getting ready to upgrade the suspension at both ends with Fox stuff. Awesome bikes for the money for sure!
@@evil14life awesome man! Marlin 5 was my first mtb. Fox makes some good stuff.
Great video, I have raceface Chester’s on my new to me used bike. They are more affordable, I looked them up, but I always compared pedals as metal versus plastic. Metal being “tougher” that is. That said, I don’t support amazon if I can avoid it!
What size is the frame ?
@@coryslater1282 Mines a XL. The bike comes in all of the standerd sizes.
@@BikeWithJohn I have an xl 7 as well.
I feel like the xl is kinda long
@coryslater1282 You could consider getting a shorter stem and some rise bars to bring the reach back.
An unknown knockoff has one big issue - you have no clue how well designed it is. I was a tester for a catalogue part component company and the taiwanese factory was proposing a fuckton of products on them that I was honestly scared to ride. Also when paying for durability you don't only pay for more time but for a lesser risk of catastrophic failure. Also that Trek pedal in 2024 is not mid range anymore. It's priced weird as it's a lower end pedal. You can get way better pedals in that price range, composit and alu. So you are making a weird review and comparison to make the cheap pedal look better. Hell there was a time where one could get Nuke Proof Horizon Sam Hill edition for 69$ and those are way better than those treks.
honestly, I believe every composite pedal is a knockoff of Race Face Chesters even pedals by big brands like OneUp. I just bought a pair of Rock Bro's composite platform pedals and I'm installing them on my bike later today. I have a ridiculous amount of pedals including Race Face Chesters, Fooker, Fyxation, Chimona, PDX and now these Rock Bro's pedals. I just like changing it up with the color sometimes and with really decent pedals going for around $25.00 it doesn't break the bank.
No name brand probably from China. Trek pedals, definitely from China... lol
Lol, that's true. Probably why they're so similar.
all trek is from china
Wow !! Love the color scheme !!❤
