Ever wondered why no company has created the perfect racing controller? I did too, so I decided to build one myself! In this video, I take you through my journey of designing and assembling a custom 900-degree racing wheel controller that outshines anything you can buy off the shelf.
This controller gives you a realistic driving experience and is perfect for vehicle simulator games like BeamNG.drive, Euro Truck Simulator 2, and SnowRunner.
Whether you're a DIY enthusiast or just passionate about racing games, this video is for you.
I’ll show you the step-by-step process, the challenges I faced (like dealing with unreliable electricity), and the final product that brings the most immersive driving experience to your favorite games.
If you’re searching for a DIY racing wheel project or want to see what a dream racing controller looks like, you’re in the right place.

This Simple Tool Is Very Useful For Your Workshop

If you've ever used this type of tiny nail in your workshop you know how hard it is to work with, I had searched on UA-cam and I realize this is a common issue so I decided to make a 3D printed tool that helps you to hold the nails STL File: cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool/nail-finger-protector Support my projects Paypal Link: bit.ly/3u1SzNV I'm using this type of 3d printer: amzn.to/3qnUFFJ #work...

Imagine if this guy was living in a country with all the things he needs, he was unstoppable
now make it manual
I got two steering wheels When i was a kid a wheel for ps3 and ps4
OMG you NEED to put shifter pedals on the back
next iteration of this controller must have force feedback in the wheel. it needs to center out when you let go. light force but fast return.
that's so awesome! this could even work with a small servo motor to get you finger-strength appropriate FFB.
Could add something like "bumpers" from xbox controllers, which would work like shifter paddles.
if you put idk a Nintendo switch controller to your left index finger you could move the camera without moving your hand but nintendo 3DS joystick will be more effective in my opinion
That lag tho...
might want to add some little knob on the steering button so u can just hold that while twisting it like what older busses use to have
What game was that with the blue R34?
Have you seen scottbez1 SmartKnob? I feel like using the same internals for the motorized spring-back mechanism would make for a pretty sick pro version of this controller
This is really cool! I have a complete simrig but I could still see myself use a controller like this where either controllers or steering wheels might be too cumbersome like in Mudrunner/Snowrunner/Spintires, BeamNG and GTA games! And there's even more potential in it: Add shoulder buttons/triggers and maybe even buttons on the bottom for your unused 3 fingers on each hand (honestly, I don't know why almost no controllers use the middle, ring and little finger). Rotating the brake and gas pedal so you wouldn't have to bend your thumb over the gas pedal to reach the brake pedal might also help.
is there any way we can cooperate force feedback into the steering?
Amazing project dude. Would love to see your design in stores and going mainstream for racing games.
Are you using simplefoc to drive the brushless motor?
hey man this thing is great i love playing racing game but hate hassle of setting up the wheel do you know if this would work on an xbox because i would love to make this ❤
i thought something similar could be done for FPS games. use a standard controller except the right analog stick is replaced with a track ball.
My question is how the arduino works, like what code do you put into it
I wanna buy please take my money lol
Ever since using a pistol grip RC transmitter for RC cars I haven't desired a wheel. I love the trigger for brake and throttle and the wheel for steering its very comfortable and familiar. I play VRC RC racing with it and also any car sim type games its great.
You should add a sequential shifter next to the turning wheel, so you can shift gears
bro, u should talk to someone in china and produce that
just get a racing wheel
You are so awesome
amazing !! (can u make the steering recenter as an update i would love that also). 🫡
How about adding buttons like RB and LB on the part where the pointing finger holds, which can be used for shifting gears?
This is incredible! I would buy one in a heartbeat!
adding force feedback would make this controller perfect
It looks amazing but if you allow me to give an "advice", it would be awesome if you put some sort of Bumpers where your Index Fingers are so it could serve as a Down and Up Shifter. Don't know if it's possible tho but it would be amazing
now add a stick shift <3
Nothanks. Controllers are fine lol
wtf is wrong with your finger
This is so cool bro
hey it might be a bit late and not of any use anymore or if u will even see but as an aditional option mabye it wouldve been an cool idea since u still took the inspiration of an controller, wouldnt it be a good idea to add 2 or 4 buttons on the top where ur index fingers are mostly resting for example shifting, blinkers, lights or something else overall really nice and amazing job
damn u could legit sell these for a decent amount of money ( i will buy them tho)
what about shifting gears
if this had force feedback, it would be great for racing
Can see people with disabilities using this
Now clutch and shifters paddle and the H pattern
What about a Steam Controller with the haptic feedback set to high? It seems like a shoe in for driving games like this.
woaw this is amazing what you did all by yourself ! Congrats man :D
Man you are a great person! Thanks for divulging this information comrade! May you have a wonderful life!
This is genuinely a billion dollar idea. I would buy one in an instant, i know it may be hard because of where you are but you gotta somehow turn this into a business through shark tank, or sell the idea to a brand. 🇦🇺🤝🇮🇶
That is awesome! Thank you very much!! Please do more stuff like this, definitely subscribed!
Imagine buying a steering wheel and playing with third person camera smh
stance on the ne g con (another ps1 namco racing controller) instead of a wheel on the controller you twist the entire thing and 2 of the buttons are analog
i always thought a slider would be better than a wheel
Hot damn you're talented af
I think I would have moved the brake further back or put its upper limit higher than the accelerator pedal so that it'S easier to reach with your thumb. Otherwise - impressive work!
