As a retired engineer, I'll take the regular cab over the wide cab with desk controls any day. I ran the Amtrak's P32's (trash eights) out of LA when they were new, and you can have them. I retired from Amtrak 1-4-2011 and I was at $36.34 per hour. I assume short line engineers are hourly rate of pay also. What are all the former RR's you run on? Any of it the former TC?

Is it an easy walk from Altoona station to Horseshoe Curve or is it better to drive?

My parents and I rode the morning excursion, and we've had a really fun time there! :)

I drive though Selma several times a week on I-95 and have noticed the yard just west of the highway and wondered about it. Now I'm going to have to pay a visit to Selma and take a better look at the town and check out the museum. I live just down the tracks in Garner, so this is pretty much in my neighborhood.

Other stops along the line from Cassandra to pittsburgh are technically portage there's not really a spot to stay and watch so next is summerhill where you could park in a lot next to the tracks and watch a railroad park in erinfeild just down the road that over looks the line from across the river Johnstown point park looking out at the old stone bridge the same bridge that was responsible for the debris pile that caught fire for three days then crossing the loreal mountains there's three crossings leading to dairy which do sit on a public road running along the line a rail park in dairy the public park in Greensburg and finally the public library in manor and if you want to be cheeky the speedy mart in irwin after that there's really no good spots till outer city pittsburgh

Norlina sub was the last place I saw engines in Family Lines System and Seaboard System livery. There were SBD engines into the mid 2000s.

*they rarely use these nowadays unless a P42-DC breaks down but mostly these are used for Autotrack Amtrak other than that they're rarely ever used I personally haven't seen one yet but I would love to!*

My special needs son really likes the Nashville & Eastern Railroad and hopes to see 👀 Nashville, Chattanooga, and St Louis #576 operate excursions on it real soon or sooner than soon.

My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🛤🚊🚂🚃🚄🚅🚇🚋🚞🚝🚉🚈 they're one of his favorite things in the whole world 🌎! He says that the f unit at 19:17 parked near the GP9 is former Canadian National F7 #9177 he remembers seeing it in 2 Greg Scholl Video Productions videos called Snow Plow with CN F7's and Plow Extras he is glad to see it again he wondered where it had gotten to and hopes it will be restored to operation real soon or sooner than soon as well as the caboose and the other f unit parked behind it and the yellow snow plow parked behind the other GP9. He also thinks that Shenandoah Valley Railroad should use cabooses on their trains.
