Stranger on the Shore
Переглядів 6510 років тому
Clarinetist playing the classic "Stranger on the Shore" (apologies to Mr. Acker Bilk) with howldog accompaniment by our two black labs Val and Hal. You may not believe it, but this was a first take with NO rehearsals for these two dogs. Let's make this a hit so Val and Hal can have some better dog food, and howling lessons.

Just stumbled on this video, I played in the Southerners in 1964-65 under David Walters Direction. With only 100 players in the band we still blew people away in the Lyndon Johnson Inaugural Parade. Love this music so much. It was so much fun.

Oh. My. God. I’ve been looking for this for ages. I remember being in hs heading my band director talk about this show and how amazing it was. I didn’t get to see the southerners until 2003 when I was sophomore in hs but the way he talked about this show I couldn’t imagine how it was better. Then I found an audio recording about 10 years ago and hot damn was I happy to be wrong. This music is amazing.
