sounds strange with your water should test for chlorine,ph,gh,ammonia,nitrite before you add again I learned 10% water changes are fine just more often I wouldn't worry about nitrates my fish are all great

Update I have 2 pair that I’ve gotten to breed repeatedly. Only one batch of having live babies. 2 or 3 sets haven’t hatched. Really are an amazing fish!

Ive got a Vieja Synspilum about 5 inches and 2 Oscars about 5 inches in my 300g. The Vieja about killed 1 Oscar and had the other terrified. I had to move both Oscars into my community Southy 450g for now/? Thinking about a Blackbelt and Green Texas to add into 300g to go with its existing stock.. Many South and Centrals growing out. Ive had the city water kill off some fish before. Unexpected chlorine blast.

I'd say the best idea is to have a large enough spare or quarantine tank and I'm speaking from bitter experience here. I had 3 Oscars in my 450gal SA cichlid community. All was fine for about a year but 2 of them ended up forming a pair and started killing everything else in the tank. In a matter of weeks, I lost the other smaller Oscar, a 7' silver Arowana, and a large parrot cichlid. I didn't have any tanks to put them in so I ended up giving them back to the pet store. And keep uploading Balake hope your channel grows.

I got the tank done and stocked. Good advice about heavy stocking.. I kept Mbuna for years, so I understand.. I have 2 Convicts and sure nuf, they bred. Convicts are nasty little fish and are chasing everyone. I had to remove the female to reduce their aggression. Since then over half the babies have been eaten. All my south and centrals are still juvies. 3 inchers. The 2 Oscars and Vieja and True Parrot are larger, but still 1/3 grown. I like your video for the 2nd time. Whats your favorite tank boss choice for me ?

So I have 4 nasties altogether and they definitely are living up to the name, 3 are pretty chill but the second biggest is relentlessly chasing the smaller ones. Looking for a divider but have a cube tank so it’s gonna be a challenge

I’m about to get a pair of these guys for a steal, any tips on sexing them out? I’ve heard white ones are usually female and blacks male but I just read the opposite? Hoping to breed them

Hey Bud, Aussie here too. I got a RTGG the exact same time is seems you got yours! Mines grown a tonne and colouring up beautifully. Getting very personal. Hes living in my 1000L tank with my Little New Aussie Lungfish (got a month aftet my RTGG) and Siamese algae eaters, plecos, whiptail cats, roseline sharks. The tanks doing awesome. Hope yours is cruising amazing too! Gonna keep posted to see how yours grows at the same time as mine!
