The Art of Wire
United States
Приєднався 24 бер 2020
Welcome to the UA-cam of Miles McDonald aka "The Art of Wire"!
I established this youtube to fulfill my desire to teach and share more of my techniques for creating fine wire wrapped jewelry.
Here I'll share high-quality, step-by-step videos of the various processes I use in creating high end wire jewelry.
Also, follow me on my Instagram.
Recording and editing film and audio is very time consuming and a whole process of its own, donations welcomed at theartofwire.com

Polishing Wire Wraps
A quick look at my process of getting a nice mirror shine on the thicker wire in my designs.
I know there are lots of different ways to polish jewelry, this is just one of the processes I use.
There are going to be more videos on polishing later, more like a tutorial style video and more in depth on some different tools that can be used.
This piece just ended up with such a nice polish I wanted to share the video I had on it.
Links for Sandpaper and Bristle Discs I use are on my website. - there are a lot of different options, I haven't explored them all yet.
These are the ones I use. 220 grit , 400 grit , pumice , 1 micron
They can be used on any rotary normal tool (dremel, flexshaft, maybe even a drill if it spins fast enough?)
I hope you enjoy the content!

Really cool! Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you to you and a handful of other artists who share more than the basics of wire wrapping! Truly appreciated!
Hard to know what to say. Enormous thank you for your time and expertise
Oh my goodness!! I'm just learning to wrap and weave. What an amazing piece!!❤
You are an amazing wire wrapping artist.❤
I love it, thanks for sharing,
👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
These pieces are stunning. I so want to make a wedding set now! Never even thought about doing that. I could never achieve your level without a decade of solid practice. Your channel and pave’ setting are exquisite. That pendant with the peridot is so creatively designed. Thank you for sharing your work.
This is so interesting. Your tutorial and design is beautiful.
Impressive technique and clearly demonstrated. TYSM
So, no tutorials on your website yet? Or are you going to do that at all? Your work is incredible!
Thank you! Yes, they're all up there theartofwire.com/tutorials
@@TheArtofWire got it, I don't know why I didn't see it before. Thank you
My God!!!!!! ❤❤❤
Question, can this setting be used in a ring band?
how beautiful!⸜(* ॑꒳ ॑* )⸝
You are so incredibly talented. I love watching you work.❤
That clasp is ingenious. Great invention.
Interesting
Thse are Absolutely wonderful
I have a couple pieces by you... Decided I wanted to try my hand at wire wrapping for fun and came across an instructional video by you... Funny lol 👍🏼🙏🏽❤️
This is awsome and looks so easy. I was trying to figure out what to do with these beautiful tiny emeralds I got from a gem show. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Very beautiful
Good god man ! How’s you figure that out? Absolutely brilliant!!!❤ 11:07
Anyone know the answer?
What's the smallest size stone you could do this with? I purchased a bunch of 1.5mm stones without realizing how small they were and I have no idea what to do with them.
I and a few others have set 1.5mm stones with the bowtie setting. It's tiny and really hard to get it lining up, I even had to buy new tiny pliers
Why not use the 6 micron?
I just ordered your tutorial ❤ my brother showed me ur amazing work can’t want to try and show you 😊
Thanks Miles! You make it look simple!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and I really appreciate all the extra little things you tell us along the way. These are great for "the intermediate" learner.(Until today I have always referred to myself as a beginner!) 👍👏❤️
Thank you! Do you feel this is strong enough to be worn as part of a pendant? Awesome video! I liked, sunscribed, and belled. 👍
Miles, hands down, you are the most talented wire wrapper and designer I have seen in my 15 years of working with tutorials and wire-wrapping. I cannot believe I finally have access to some of your videos! Thank you so much for getting me to the next level with my stone setting!
WHAT PLIERS ARE YOU USING PLEASE?
Listed at the bottom of my website on the tutorial page Theartofwire.com/tutorials
Oh, wow! That’s magnificent! The bracelet itself, and the adjustable catch design. I’d buy that in a heartbeat. 🏆🥇🧡💚🤍
Complimenti e grazie per la condivisione
tremendo nivel... muchas felicitaciones por tu exelente trabajo...muy inspirador...
Thanks pops, quick question tho, what should I look for when considering buying a hand drill
Absolutely Beautiful!!!!!!!
I’m curious about how much you sell this piece for
This made a huge difference in how I set my stone
Great explanation thank you so very much
WaW !!! ... Sooo lovely 👍😍👌
Give it ✳️✳️✳️✳️✳️...for the beautiful setting and those gems!
Ok, I guess I need to start saving up! 😅
Thank you for this amazing tutorial! You are an amazing artist 🥰
WOW!! Gorgeous!!
I am so impressed! I’ve only been wrapping for 6 months or so and have been doing tutorials for specific pieces of jewelry, but I’m realizing that I need to learn more of the nuts and bolts before I can start to design the kinds of things I want to, so while I imagine designs and keep a little notebook, I can now add this design as an element to some of my ideas. This is awesome! For someone like me, who’s disabled and lives alone during Covid, depression has been very hard and this new hobby has really helped me to battle it. Thank you for making free tutorials like this. Do you have a page on Facebook? If I use this approach I definitely want to give credit. I make sure to do that with everything I make right now because none of my work is original, yet. 😉
Thank you! Yeah here's my Facebook Facebook.com/theartofwire
I have always struggled with making this particular setting and your tutorial really cleared up some of the mechanics of the structure. I will definitely be checking out your other tutorials. Thanks!
These are gorgeous! Can I some how incorporate them into a ring?
Thanks! Yeah totally, check out my Instagram for examples of how I've used them. instagram.com/theartofwire

Thank you so much!! They are beautiful!! I was wanting to know how to incorporate real gemstones in my wire works!!! Please do more tutorials!!
