@@Eggmaster1244 Thanks pal! 🍻
I am in awe of how your “chiseled edge” stays during your corner into the canvas. Mine seems to spread out and become very blunt. It seems your brush is kinda stiff and crunchy. Is this true? Is my BR brush #6 too soft in the bristles? How do I get it crunchy and able to hold the edge? Btw. I am not seeing Simply Simmons still making a 6 fan brush.
@@thomiequinn Hey, pal! Thanks for your comment. Believe it or not, as I look back on this video I actually think it’s my weakest one and I’m not sure how it’s the most popular video on my channel lol. The truth is, if I could remake this video, I would NOT be using the fan brush from the BR company. At this point, I had not even owned the fan brush you see in the video for a year. And the truth is a lot of the bristles had fallen out, they somehow shrunk and the quality overall simply decreased in such a short amount of time. I actually don’t think it’s holding the paint well at all so it’s interesting that you would say it’s holding its shape. The trees I made in this video don’t even showcase a true skill because of the compromise of the brush but I didn’t know this at the time. As for the simply Simmons brush, which I highly highly recommend, I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble finding it. I shop for it in person at my local Michaels art store. Do they have a location where you’re from or are you just looking online?
Thanks ☺️

Do you paint in oils or acrylics
Hey, pal. Thanks so much for your question. I paint in oils. But I have a special episode coming out next season where I’m going to do an acrylic version of wet on wet. So if acrylics are your forte, hopefully you’ll subscribe to the channel so you don’t miss out on it. I think acrylic artists are really going to enjoy it. Thanks again 👍
Hey Kenny. Been a while since I've commented. But apparently I've missed getting alerts to your live shows! And I'm subscribed and everything so I don't understand why. And I'm not a happy camper as I've needed my Kenny Fix! Anyway, love the James Bond Portrait. He was probably my favorite at the time. Went and saw so many of his movies. Also, I would love to hear how you got into painting, your training, etc. I really would!! You're an incredible artist and multi-talented individual. Anyway my friend take care of yourself and look forward to more of your paintings and portraits. And really, I would be interested in hearing about how you got into being an artist, as obviously, you have an incredible and natural talent for it.
Hey, pal! Always great to see friendly comments. It’s very difficult for me in general to pick favorites of anything, so I actually couldn’t tell you who my favorite James Bond actor is lol. But they all definitely deserved their own portrait. As for the videos, I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t be getting notified of new videos being post. Are you sure you’ve also hit the notification bell icon as well? Either way, I have some bad news and good news. The bad news is the channel is going to slow down for a while but the good news is it’s only because it’s under contraction. I have tons of videos under pre production right now. And once they’re all complete, edited and the time is right, they’ll all be released one by one so often you might not even be able to keep up haha. But I’m putting in the time and effort for the hard work. We all just have to be patient. My history with painting and how I got started is actually an idea for a video I have on its own. But I’ll give you the short version- basically I’ve been painting and drawing my whole life ever since childhood but I picked up the wet on wet technique during the pandemic and the rest is history as they say. I really appreciate you, your support and taking the time to comment. Once the next season is completely filmed, I’ll be able to release one episode a month along with other videos and follow up tutorials. It’s going to be awesome. I think everyone is going to really enjoy what I’ve been working on. But like paintings themselves, you can’t and you shouldn’t rush them. Thanks again buddy! Ask, discuss, and keep in touch any time 🍻
Hermoso! Really beautiful!
Thank you, Vilma. What a pretty name. I appreciate you checking the video out 😊
Love your trees. Are you holding a pop stick , what is that line and you use fan brush to go next to it please explain
Hello and thank you. I am not using a stick to help me with any lines. Can you please tag the timestamp in the video for your question about my fan brush so I can understand your question better? Hope to hear back from you. Thanks again!
Thanks!
I didn't realize there was a slider to increase the value. 😆
You make great videos, very thorough. And your paintings are looking great!
Thank you so much! I currently have 10 videos in pre production and then I’ll be doing more tutorial videos like this, including a follow up. It’s a lot of work that will take some time but keep a look out for them. I appreciate you and the support 👍
Thanks!
DAMN Kenny! That is amazing!!! With your charisma and talent, you should be teaching professionally! You need to put a disclaimer not to drink or eat while watching this video. I was mid-drink when you said, "Dirtier than my browser history!! " I spit my water all over my monitor!!
Haha, thanks for the heads up. My next 10 paint along videos are currently in pre production so maybe I will have to incorporate a warning like that. I’d say sorry but getting a laugh out of folks is a bonus I pride myself on lol. I can’t thank you enough, Shane! For the awesome comments, your donation, and your support, I really appreciate you. I’ll be incorporating live teachings at some point probably after the next season of paintings debut. How about yourself? Do you paint?
@@Kennysgreasypaint I am looking forward to the next series for the hilarity as well as the instructions! I do paint just not anywhere at the level you do!
@@shaneplatt736 If you can bring yourself to load that paint onto a brush and then onto the canvas, the hard part is already over 👍
@@Kennysgreasypaint Great point! I have been working on seascapes both on black canvas and white canvas. I was an avid Great Lakes shipwreck scuba diver, and I would like to eventually paint some of my favorite wrecks as they sit on the bottom. Have you done any ship scenes?
@@shaneplatt736 Unfortunately I have not done any ship scenes let alone shipwreck lol. I would eventually like to learn. I have an idea or two on how to go about it. Maybe you could teach me? 🤷♂️ BUT I have to say, if you could do something impressive like scuba dive ship wrecks in the Great Lakes, then this painting thing should be a cake walk for you hahaha. Very impressive man! I can’t even swim lmao

Can liquid clear be used with acrylic paints
Hey, Sarah. Great question! So since the clear is an oil based medium, it will only work with other oil pigments. Unfortunately, acrylics are water based and wouldn’t mix well with the liquid clear. However there are water based mediums made to mix with acrylic paints, I’m just not sure of what those products are called but they exist.
Thanks!
How do you keep your hands clean? I am covered with paint when I am done.
Well when setting up and laying my paints down, I take my very sweet time with it. Trust me that helps lol. But during clean up I definitely get a spot or two on my hands and fingers but of course you don’t see that part because I already end the video lol. Best thing to do though is wipe the paint off your skin as soon as you notice it and it’ll prevent staining as well.
@@Kennysgreasypaint thank you so much. I enjoy your sense of humor and how you instruct us step by step. Thanks, Bill
@@williammead238 Thanks pal, I appreciate you. Also, baby wipes are a very cost effective way of cleaning paint off your palette and work area by the way. Give it a try 👍
Your videos are great 😊
Thank you, Sandy. Artists love hearing that from time to time. I appreciate you 😊
Yep, he is.
Which is your favorite Bond movie that he did?
Wow! Awesome job!
Thank you! This was a commissioned piece and my client was very happy
Beautiful painting ❤
Thank you 😊
Looking forward to it 👍
Great! I’m glad you’re going to join 😊
Why do this ?
This specific technique of oil painting depends on your canvas to stay wet the entire time and thick mediums are required. Without the white primed base coat that goes on first, the thick colors will be very difficult to blend.
Relatable 💯😂
AMAZING
Thanks so much. I appreciate you saying so. Be sure to subscribe and stay tuned because I will eventually be making a follow up video to this which will be even better 😊
Loved this tutorial! Expert teaching!
I love this. along with your painting vids, you should make this a series and talk about diffrent painting scenes! Do eeeettt!
Thanks pal! And I already have my list for the next ten. Along with that and my regular painting vids, there’s so much content to film and create yet so little time. Stay tuned 🍻
the attention to detail with the bandages on the finger after the clapperboard 😭
LMAO! I was wondering who was going to notice first. So glad you caught that 🤣 🍻
1. Goodfellas!! The scene with Joe Pesci's mother shows them the painting of man and 2 dogs in the boat...CLASSIC!!! 2. Ferris Bueller's Day off when they're all in the art gallery and the looks and expressions they have, another classic. 3. Pulp Fiction, when John Travolta picks up Mia Wallace, she let's him by buzzing him in and tells Vince to make himself comfortable as she is still "getting ready" and Vince pours himself a drink and checks out the painting of Mia on the wall. Another excellent one.. 4. And most recently, I thought the movie was actually excellent... fact is painters inspired by Bob Ross will actually get the humor in this move.. the movie is: PAINT, actor Own Wilson plays a "Bob Ross" related character named Carl Nargle... I thought it was very good and funny. My opinion a must see movie. These 4 movies are the ones that immediately came to mind as I watched your video. Well done as always Brother Man!!! But I think the Goodfellas scene is actually my all time favorite!! I actually qoute parts of that scene often, if anyone has seen it you'll understand, LMFAO!!!!! KEEP YOUR DREAMS HIGH AND THAT POMPADOR IN THE SKY BROTHER!!!
Oh boy. Being such a fan of mob movies, how could I forget that Goodfellas scene? Smh lol. But it looks like another 10 painting scenes video will have to be made 🤣 Those are some good recommendations man, thank you! Although I haven’t seen the movie Paint but it’s already on my list. I’ll just have to move it up as priority haha. As always man, I appreciate you 🍻
@Kennysgreasypaint Dude for real, I thought it was excellent, Owen Wilson nailed it. Knowing your humor Ken, I believe you'll dig it! It's worth making time to watch it. And yes, a part 2 to follow up this video would be awesome!!
Hey I am on your page again ❤❤❤😅
And it’s always a pleasure to see when you visit 😊
Hey brother!! Did you really get some D!*¿head posting negative comments about your paintings?!?!?! Because that's just messed up! I'm SURE you know that it's NOT true, and it's just some ball-bag trolling you! You are an INSPIRATION to ALL of us who love to paint!! And as I have expressed to you in the past, your channel, videos/tutorials have been such a positive influence and has made a wonderful difference in my life in the learning to paint world!! For an hour or so we get to forget our troubles, worries, or burdens of this world, and are able to focus on something sooooooooo POSITIVE in learning how to create something soooooooo WONDERFUL and PEACEFUL on canvas to share with others!! Also to mention you make it funny and entertaining as you teach and paint! And I know I'm NOT the only one who feels this way!!!
Thanks man! You know I appreciate you. And it’s all good. I’m exploiting this person for more ideas to create content and little videos like this from. So either way, I win 🤣 🤣 🤣 But your support it top tier as always brother. Looking forward to your next painting 👍
