Planted Aquarium Expert. With a knack to make you laugh! When I first started I needed someone to physically show me what to do. Unfortunately the majority of UA-camrs don't pull the plant out and give you a visual walkthrough. I decided all my tutorials would be hands on to help others in those fragile times.
I've been there. You literally feel like you're constantly making mistakes and it isn't until after the fact we find out.
Anxiety City! Lol

Lol.. You've great, liked and subscribed
I just made the is video hit 200 likes 👍
Thanks for watching the 🤙
I just got the Rosette from petco. I put it in my empty second tank to rinse as I prepared the tank I was going to place them in and to watch this video. When I came back I noticed tiny worms wiggling around the roots. Glad I didn't plop them right in.
Everything imaginable that can be found out in the wild can appear in your tank. Hitch Hikers I've found a full-grown leach before. Larger than any of my fish. It slipped in as an egg.
@@yourtap that's wild! I know to be more careful now. My previous plants I was less careful with. Got lucky hopefully.
I'm glad everything worked out for her Dustin.
I really appreciate it 🙏
@@yourtap I was one of the winners for your contest a long time ago. You gave me a lot of jungle val. I still watch ya every now and then. Love seeing you do so well
I remember you. Thank you for swinging in to say hi! 🤙
Love your channel bro
Thank you so much. I appreciate you swinging in to say hi 🤙
Currently have about 8 leafs, each has 3-7 1" babies growing off of them! Was thinking about tossing it and I figured ahh what the heck why not try it out
Congratulations Blessings Homie Much Respect 🫡👏🏽🙏🏽🎉🍾🎈
Thank you!
Thank you so much! Now this all makes sense as to why I'm spending my money to kill plants.... I wish I had known this before. Great informative video! 🌿🌿
You're welcome 🤙
Your too much! Haha. She's adorable
Thanks lol!
you got a fun personality
I appreciate
I got a really cool lava rock that I picked up on our last camping trip, now it's in my 20 gallon I'm starting up, so I stuffed some of the larger holes with the christmas moss, every time I see a little chunk floating I just stuff it in a new hole on the rock. Think it'll work out alright? It's a pretty porous rock, I just thought it would look super rad with some christmas fans growing off of it! Thoughts!?
Sounds perfect to me. It can take a couple weeks to latch on to the rock. If all you've had to do is stuff a couple escapes back into it, I wouldn't worry. I've let pieces just float around and let them attach to what they want as well.
Dude I love your energy, lol. Wish there were more people like you in the world. It would definately be a better place
I really appreciate that! 😃
Just now watching this and so glad that I did. This is so good to know, particularly for new aquarium hobbyists like me. Thank you!
You're welcome!
First time for me seeing a guy wear a bag of micacle grow
Lol!
ITs complicated. There are a few species that you can get in your tank, most will be fine, some can predate on shrimp but not often.
Well it's roots are in the aquarium. Try putting it under water, won't last long
Just came back to rewatch this video. How are you doing my friend?
Hey there! It's really good to hear from you! Been several years. You are one of my first 100 subs. I'm doing well. Just had a baby. How have you been?
@@yourtap I am good, i got a bit busy and let my tank go to crap so just starting again with co2 this time. I plan to scape in a week or 2 so will let you know how it goes. Congrats with the new baby, try to get some sleep .. hahaha
@Knight636 lol! Thank you my friend. I've still never used co2. Let me know how that goes.
You earned my subscribe just from the channel name alone :) ++
Happy to have you here 😀
I hope this is not real 😮
Great idea air plants are amazing accents to aquariums 🫡 Very minimal upkeep and cost efficient
😊 I understand that feeling very well tried my hand at it but was like ol dayz of nickel dime hustle But slow money better than no money 💰🤣
😆 😂😅 wtf no lie jumped a bit 🤣🤦🏽
Lol
No disrespect but fertilizer on top of the soil I’m sure ammonia is through the roof But if no fish, no harm no foul 🫡 Crypts will take all the nutrients you’ll give them and then some and reward you with amazing growth. Best of luck to you, my friend.
Zero animals. I did this on purpose for plants only. 😉
When they fully color up there Amazing fish ❤🫡
God bless you and your family bro 😢👏🏽💜
I haven't looked at this video for years because I couldn't take it. Thank you for your kind words my friend 🧡
Respect brother thanks for sharing your experience much appreciated 👏🏽💪🏽🫡 New sub 🫡
I appreciate you 🤙
I ordered a big bag of christmas moss, it was already brown, more than likely from shipping, but I'm trying to propagate it to eventually build a couple sweet walls of christmas moss to line the insides of my 20 gallon aquarium, I'll be running co2 injection when my regulator gets here.. but as of now (day 3) it's still brown, I currently have it in a glass jar and tank water from my 55 gallon. Under a grow lite set up, 6 hours light on, 6 hours light off. How do I get it to look so lush like yours does??
Once it's brown, it's like an infection. It keeps spreading. Keep your moss near the surface for natural co2 until you get yours. Does your tank currently have airflow?
I have airstones and flow galore, but not in the jar for the moss, should I drop a small stone in there?
@pokesmotlots, I would definitely do that. Float your moss if you can. It needs to go through some changes. I love Christmas moss. Once it gets going, you won't know what to do with all the extra.
@yourtap alright I'll give it a go, thank you!! I hope it turns out like my vision. Going to be a couple months but the shrimp will be so stoked
@Mullette keep having fun my friend 🤙
I noticed the other plants were tied together but did not see the black string around the java fern. Old video but it helped me save my plant, thank you!
You're welcome
You should have put a under gravel filter underneath would have helped 🙏👍✌️🇨🇦
That definitely would've helped 🤙 Thanks for saying hi!

You're welcome! Super happy to have you 🤙

Oh man ..lol i subbed after hearing your comment on what java moss is "sh*t" annnnnnnnnnnd your rant on pple getting shirty and unsubbing cuz you dont send them free sh*t ..lol .
Happy to have you
In this video at around 11:05, you mentioned that it is also present in "dwarf" forms. Can you elaborate on that? Is it a subspecies? Some sort of naturally occurring cultivar? A different growth habit determined by where it grows?
It is most definitely a dwarf. Meaning a variant of the same species that has evolved to thrive in shallow water. They both sprout thick center stems to hold the flower above the surface for pollination. It's the same for most types of "Water grass" , "weeds" etc. Both flowers are white.
@@yourtap Is there a way to identify the dwarf variety? And do you know what the dwarf variety's full size is? I suspect I may have some of it here, and want to use it in a tank, but it can't get too large. I did some digging online but couldn't find a reference to a dwarf variety of broadleaf, probably because of the number of sagittaria subulata results.
Full size is only a couple inches in length. They grow outward from a center mass, that also will send out "runners" these are green stiff chains between one mini plant to the next. They're spaced out between 1-3in apart but still connected. "Cloning " The most important giveaway. Something unique that only this plant possesses, big or small. Uproot the plant. Look closely to the roots. They'll have tiny dark lateral bands that happen repeatedly to the very tip of the root. I've made videos on this.
Dwarf variation will Always grow close to shore like moss.
@@yourtap I'm certain it's this species, my concern is distinguishing between the dwarf form, and just a juvenile plant of the large form. When you say a couple inches, do you mean the total height, the overall spread of the plant from above, or the leaf size? Mine is currently 5-8 inches tall, with a leaf size ranging from 1-2 inches, from tip to corner.
So when you use zero filter will that fix the problem?
Lol she is so cute! Her expression is "Why are you bothering me with this crap?" 😂
Hahaha! Good to hear from you. Thank you 🤙
My dung beetle's breath smells like poopy. I'm going to change him.
Bubbles . . . It's ALIVE!!!!!!!! ( I got excited and used 3 more exclamation marks than usual)
When you're do'n it right . . . you're do'n it right! Thanks for this. Very helpful, my seething has abated. (I'm still a lemur but it ain't that bad)
Lol! 😂
I've never seen any of your videos before this is the first one I click on and I love it. My betta loves planaria😅
Thank you 🤙
😂
Awesome. Quick question. Is something ground off the stone itself each time so that at some point you only have a stick 😅 or can you grind it without any worries
Yes. You're essentially scraping off a layer of the stone. I have yet to end up with just a tiny sliver for a stone. Lol
Thank you Dustin. ❤❤❤
You're welcome 🤙
💚
Is the organic mirical grow potting mix or soil, do you put 1 inch of flourite an one inch of sand?
One plant wont help create a sustaining tank, where's the stores that sell a huge variety of healthy different types???? These box stores have nothing!!!!!!
I know. You'll need to find a local fish store that isn't corporate owned. Mom and pop fish store. I have to drive 90mins if I want plants that have been grown underwater like they're supposed to.
Congratulations!!! That is one of the absolute cutest babies I have ever seen!!!
Thank you 😊
Will the Epson salt hurt guppy fry?
My experience is that it won't. It's a remedy for swimbladder as well
