Hi Gerald. Thanks for the comment. Yes indeed the Troopy is stored in Los Angeles with some relatives there. It is a safe region of LA (but anyway I check the apple tag daily haha). In a month we already travel back to the USA and travel then quite straight down south. We have to do some maintenance on the Troopy in Arizona (we get a new windshield finally!) and then Central America is waiting for us. Looking forward to that. Take care, Ernst & Jiew

It is tragic here in Chiang Mai. The water went but the damage in property is immense .. lots of people lost a lot …

Hahaha yes indeed, in a forest like Redwoods ,you just can look up haha. In deserts the eyes are looking to the horizon indeed. We love both, deserts and forests. The redwood forests in California are mind blowing. And yes we covered in this episode many places but just drove trough. We planned to visit the Golden Gate Bridge but as always the cities just scare us. So we left San Franciso with out a stop haha. The pleasure to meet you in Oregon is also on our side 🙏. Always remember that meeting there and thank you a lot for your support here. Really life is to short to stay at home and work 👍🏻🙏

Hahaha 😆. Nope it won’t be a cruise 😂. Couldn’t imagine myself on a cruise ship … but who knows what’s up in 20 years 😀. But just between us (don’t tell it around haha), after two years on the road we’re taking a break and kick up the feet for 3 months … after that (in November we’re back in Los Angeles where we park the troopy) we’re traveling south south south … until there is no more south 😃👍🏻.

Indeed great experience. Maybe it would have been better to visit Yellowstone in October. The peak season is really crowded. But okay it’s beautiful anyway. Thanks Gerald

Yes, that is the disadvantage of national parks, no boondocking, campgrounds fully booked months ahead and usually crowded. But then the landscape and wildlife is always spectacular in those parks. We just have been on highway 1. Unfortunately after Big Sur it is closed since two or three years due to massive landslides. Well okay we drove to Big Sur and then back north to Monterey. Haha 😂, yes the boxes are unharmed. Zarges, a german product and probably indestructible 😃. We are again and again amazed about the landscapes of North America. They are so varying. Just today we drive from the forests of the Rockies out into vast deserts of Nevada. Amazing! What a change! Now we are on the way to the Pacific Coast. Looking forward to that. Hi Lazslo,we tried the bison burger as you suggested and it is delicious😋.We confronted couple of times with bisons. They are quite huge and calm. They once blocked our car.We had to wait and caused a long line behind us.Have a good one.Ernst&Jiew

Yes, you’re probably right. But also in Europe the Troopies get imported … mostly from the Middle East over Amsterdam or Gibraltar. But nowadays the diesel version is nearly impossible to legalize in Europe (probably the same here in the USA) so most people buy an used one or then the gas version. Greetings, Ernst & Jiew

Haha, nein da ist kein Sommerschlussverkauf 😃. Das ist der ganz normale Wahnsinn und alle meinen, das sei normal 🫤 Bezüglich filmen an öffentlichen Orten. Da ich ein paar Fotobände publizieren konnte (im GEO Magazin erscheint im September eines meiner Portfolios) habe ich mich intensiv mit der Thematik auseinandergesetzt. Um das Recht am Bild geltend machen zu können, muss die entsprechende Person das Fotomotiv an sich sein. Ansonsten gilt die „Panoramafreiheit“. D.h. wird man zufälligerweise auf einem platz in einer Stadt fotografiert, kann man keine Rechte geltend machen. Ein Portrait ist da natürlich etwas anderes. In Kirchen, Bahnhöfen usw. darf man auch nicht einfach so filmen oder fotografieren, schon gar nicht wenn man es dann publiziert. Meine Aufnahmen in der Metro sind wohl grauzonig. Nicht aufgrund des Rechts am Bild sondern weil es sich dabei um Besitztum einer privaten oder staatlichen Firma handelt … Liebe Grüsse, Ernst & Jiew

Und die sind - nach meinen Kenntnissen vom Presserecht - grundsätzlich, z.B. von denen in Strassen usw., zu unterscheiden, da der Einzelne dort als Beiwerk des Gesamten gilt. In Zeiten von Internet ist ja ohnehin vieles im Fließen… Aber egal, wo kein Protest ist, ist auch kein Problem. 😇

Yes Gerald, after couple days in that city we were really eager to go back to the Troopy and stay again in the forests. That is where we belong. Big cities are interesting for some days but they also confuse us 😃. Meanwhile we are already a week back in the forest and it is as we never have been somewhere else. But mostly you’re already in the middle when those questions come up. What then? Turn back or continue? Luckily some guy there told us that it’s easier to continue. And he was right 👍🏻 Take care
