Since I've bought my steam deck, I actually stopped using my PC for gaming and spend more time in the living-room and less time in the office :D Of course you won't have a "gaming" experience in the newest title and can forget about 4k gaming but if you use SD just in the handheld mode, it's fantastic. I use it in docked mode (sort of, it's not a regular docking station but one of those usb adapters for Mac, so I just sit in the armchair with my SD in hands like a regular controller and the TV in front of me) and a good OLED TV does the rest of the magic. You can check my other tests. Steam Deck will help me fight my pile of shame :D

That's pretty complicated: like a dozen minutes of the playtime if not more was spent in the menus and figuring things out because at the beginning of the game you are flooded with new content; the combat itself in Nolvus can be very challenging so I simply avoided it and did not raise my level too fast because of the annoying enemy scaling Bethesda games are so famous for; crafting does not increase your blacksmithing level, so no cheap experience; and finally, I was simply so overwhelmed by new stuff that I probably forgot to level up xD

@@Mr.ExclusiveMemes-qn3ll You can get the modpack here www.nolvus.net/ but I also highly recommend buying a premium account for one month on Nexus mods, otherwise the installation process will take you a dozen of hours (not a joke). The combat is way better than in unmodded Skyrim but still clunky. However, you can DODGE like in normal action RPGs (but you need to tinker a bit with the key binding, as far as I remember). Archery is completely different and you need to get used to it. It is not as OP as in regular Skyrim. As for graphics card, check my specs in the description. You should be fine with the regular version of the modpack, I chose the version for older graphic cards and it runs fine.

Thank you. I am about to tag and put a description to Part 16 and I guess I ended the game in Part 19 (and then started playing the DLCs). The uploading goes pretty slow because I need to reconvert each part to 1440p as a workaround for UA-cam's compression.

I already finished the game some time ago but I am in the process of converting all the videos to 1440p because YT compression completely butchers the footage. I played through the main story and most of the DLCs (except for Ardyn's story) and still want to finish and max out all the optional stuff. I loved the game despite of its flaws (rushed release resulting in TONS of cut out content and the last section of the game just being one long "corridor").

Both the game and the mod files are installed on an SSD

@@puregameplaysonhard yea i think this modlist is too heavy for hdd the graphic card is the least problematic its cpu and memory intensive imma just get more ssd for this

I also recommend installing the lighter version (you can choose it during the installation process) but yeah, I remember that the installation instructions say Nolvus MUST be installed on SSD, otherwise the loading times will be very long. Also, get a large SSD because the installation takes about 330 gigs...

I think about 4-5 hours BUT I really recommend purchasing Nexus Premium for one month, it makes the installation of mods completely automatic. Otherwise you must manually clink each time to install every separate mod, wait for 15 seconds for the download link to get ready, etc. - multiply that by 2000 - without the Nexus Premium subscription, it will take several evenings...

As a creator of Verho, I hope you will check it out. It is made especially for peoples like you and me who miss games likes King's Field or Ultima Underworld! :D

I made an attempt at King's Field 1 (the actual Japanese game) the other day and as far as I liked the atmosphere and the somewhat bland and rough design of the game but hated the mazes and the respawn rate of enemies.

BTW I think Verho should have a demo available on Steam somewhere in August with approx. 3 hours of gameplay.

This game along with Parasol Stars (The Story of Bubble Bobble III) on Amiga 600 were basically my childhood :)

Have you played the original version of the game? If yes, there might be a thing I need to mention which I don't remember from the first Kingdoms of Amalur and you can't notice it in the gameplay itself: you get locked in attack animations so once you start the combo and are about to hit that last time, there is a huge delay between the attacks and the moment you can dodge, making you exposed to all attacks. Not a problem on lower difficulties, but it's a huge thing on the hardest difficulty. If you are a new to the game and can ignore several out-dated or annoying mechanics (no jumping, equipment loses durability), you will have a great game for dozens of hours. The regions in the game look generic and all the same, but the lands change as you progress, most of the regions having their own main settlement and set of quests - think of it as an MMORPG.

Is it some sort of a Skyrim overhaul / mod package? Nolvus itself takes a lot of space on the drive (over 300 gigs) and the installation itself takes a lot of time so I am unable to install another pack for now.

This playthrough was pretty much a blind playthrough and with most things I encountered for the first time, so I didn't have the proper learning curve. To be honest, this game was such pain to record that I was mostly focused on recording it properly rather than playing it properly :D

To be honest, I've not checked the FPS, but the next time I'll play the game I will check it in the open world, in a crowded city and in a fight. I'll write the values here in the reply :)

Ostatnio widziałem gameplay z gry o tytule Loki. Wygląda bardzo podobnie tak na pierwszy rzut oka.

TBH, I never use FPS counters because I've been raised on systems like Amiga / Pegasus [Eastern-European Famicom] so my tolerance threshold is pretty high :P I'd say the game works in a range from stable / playable to complete "slideshow" in case of heavy combat with many NPCs in outdoor cells. People who must maintain a stable 60 FPS to consider their experience "good" should avoid Nolvus unless they have a PC from NASA :) Edit: HOWEVER, you must bear in mind that sometimes the games might look as if it loses a lot of FPS but it might only be the case of the video, not the actual gameplay (playing the game and recording at the same time puts a lot of strain on the PC).

with my 3060 ti and i5 12600k, 32 gb ram, i got everything from 45 to 80 in mediun and low settings (depends on the ENB you are using) at 1080p. pretty playable i have to say. but yeap, I dont think the list is friendly for anything bellow a RTX 2060 or 2070. but in my case if I want i can stable 60.

Yes, the people who put this modpack together deserve words of praise. I am playing the "redux" version of the modpack and yet it looks fantastic and works (almost) flawlessly.

Thanks for the advice, I will test it out in my next session (I have already recorded like 8 videos, trying to upscale my footage to 4k in Action! [which is way less performance heavy than obs, at least from what I experienced] but the results are sometimes pretty bad, especially when there are many effects on the screen like during combat with magic, fire blasts, etc.). 1440p sounds much more reasonable.

@@puregameplaysonhard that was my thought as well. Combat is always super heavy, also found cluttered areas such as white run and certain dungeons can be quite heavy for the encoder. Best of luck!!

Did "Cossacks" have RPG elements and a hero character? I remember Cossacks to be very different in terms of graphics and animations, but I might be wrong.

@@puregameplaysonhard They're overexaggerating like most people comparing games.. cossacks didn't have rpg elements or heroes.

For sure :) But better check whether you need the Redux version or your PC can handle the Ultra version. You need to install over 200 gb so I recommend making sure that the game will work smoothly after that :)
